I think we all do this same thing with sketch books finding our way and style. It is not sad it is an adventure into your style and what brings you joy!! I love seeing all your art. I have a collection...some of the paper is awful for me. we have to try what others love, it might be the same for us!! and you have found several that you love....we will continue this journey with our supplies, paper and sketch books. Like the acrylic gouache, you will find what you need. But by experimenting!!! Thank you for being brave and sharing! you bring me joy and I do not feel alone in this journey! Even reading other artists comments!! we have so much in common....we just like to make stuff!!! You give me courage and hope!!!!💝
Thank you for this comment! ☺️ you have made me feel loads better about my many unfinished sketchbooks 😂 It’s aaallll about experimenting and having fun, especially here on this channel!! 😍🩵✨
You are so honest, real, and delightful! Your style of art and video resonates so much. You made so many beautiful things! Even the pieces you didn’t much care for I thought came out so pretty! Love what you do, thanks as always for sharing! 🤘🏻
Happy New Year Amber! I'm watching your video right now and I just want to say that I have done exactly the same thing: started a lot of sketchbooks and have my art all over the place. You shouldn't feel bad, you just want to explore, like me. Your art is just beautiful and you should be proud of yourself. I love your channel!
Thank you Roberta! I’m glad it’s not just me 😂 I didn’t realise how many sketchbooks I had started until I recorded this video. Determined to finish a few this year! I hope you’ve had the best time exploring your art too! Happy New Year! Wishing you lots of creativity and more exploring in 2025 xx
that kitty at 24:37 is so cute, one of my favourites! I love all your abstract pieces too and that you have so many different art styles here, what a busy successful year 🥰
Thank you Chantelle! 🥰 I have been busy this year 😅 i just can’t force myself to stick to one thing, it’s like I’m learning art all over again each time I switch to something different and I just love the excitement of it! I also love that kitty and the little Robin bird using those few coloured pencils 🥹
Thank you Pamela! I enjoyed that too I remember it being really fun to draw! I want to go back to my coloured pencils soon ☺️ and I love drawing and painting a good cocktail! 🍹 Happy New Year! 💕
Thank you!! I’m glad you enjoyed watching. I just get so bored if I work on one thing for too long! I love all the styles and all the mediums! Which can end up being quite an expensive way to do things 😅
I love watching your process of exploring art. One thing I wanted to mention regarding you losing passion for something when you start thinking of monetizing it. I follow a few artist who just do their own thing in their sketchbooks and they have patreons. They choose one thing they make in their sketchbook each month to make a postcard size print of and they send it out to their patrons each month. It may be a way for you to explore without having too much pressure to what you are creating.
Oh wow I really like that idea! Thank you so much for mentioning it to me! I love making UA-cam videos and would love to have a Patreon one day too so I will look into this 🥰🩵
Haha exactly! It’s something I have really been trying to change because I really do want to fill my sketchbooks but some of them just don’t make the cut 😅
Hahaha. I made it all the way to the end!! My preference is the more realistic marker art that you were doing early on...but I think you've outgrown that, and your spacey abstracts were weird and interesting and fun to watch. I love my abstract that matches my sofa! Also, yes, that damn Hahnemule paper rips with the lightest of washii tapes, it's soooo annoying. I also love my little Art Creations sketchbook too - which I finished completely in 4 months exactly! I bought the square one next...but since then haven't got back to sketching, which is a bit sad, but I had a lot going on. In terms of goals, I didn't set any for 2024 for personal reasons, but I was doing daily doodles for about half the year which I had begun in 2023 and wanted to continue - which I did. Drawing daily was really good for me and I found that I loved the Ohuhu waterbased markers and I also bought myself the 60 Arrtx markers which were great fun. You've made so much art and I love that you're sharing the whole year's journey with us all. It's fantastic to see all the art in one go. Thanks so much xxx
Thanks so much for watching Helen 💜 Considering you had so much going on in 24 you did so well and I can imagine the daily doodles made you feel so satisfied with your art practise. It’s funny because the more realistic marker art for me now is my least favourite. But while I was doing abstracts I didn’t think I’d want to draw actual things again and now all I want to do is draw actual things and play with soft pastels.. SOFT PASTELS?! I hate soft pastels. Another phase has come over me it seems 😂 it does make me happy to work like this! The goal is to combine abstract with a touch of realism I think. But whether that will still be the goal in a month 🤷🏻♀️ who knows! I can’t wait to see everything you create and achieve this year Helen 💜✨

Sketchbook graveyard is a perfect name for it - I have started many sketchbooks, then of course they’re ruined so I have to start a new one… ;)
Haha exactly! It’s something I have really been trying to change because I really do want to fill my sketchbooks but some of them just don’t make the cut 😅
Happy new year !
Happy New Year to you too!
Fabulous art!
Thank you so much! ☺️
Really love this. I think I will do my own mini art Talens book and hopefully fill it up with half for 2025.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it if you do get one. I have loved my little Art creations book so much 😍
@ well I started today. So no more blanket pages let’s start and do this. I started with 15 minutes drawing. Let’s see if that helps.
Great idea to have a set time to get started with! Good luck with your new art adventure! 😄
Great video!
Thank you!! ☺️
I enjoyed this video.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Still here!!!
Yay! Thank you so much 🩵
What do you do with all the art?
Well most of it is in my sketchbooks so I just enjoy making the art and flicking through my books I guess ☺️
stilll here
Thank you so much for watching and for your comments! ☺️
