- I've seen lots of people struggling (Including myself) to find a place to connect the Green signal wire. All shown in this video, including power, ground and lights.
Ps, to all my regular viewers this is just more of a tutorial than car content, but I will get some more Corolla content out very shortly :D

Thank you! I’ve been searching online for ages on how to wire up a tacho in my hilux. I Noticed that it has the same OBD plug as yours and was wondering if I could use the IG- pinout for it but could not find a wiring diagram. This video is a life saver. For real, you should add more tag words to the description so that it’s easier to find. Thanks again mate.
Question, what’s that tacho like, the one you installed? I’ve seen them online but can’t find any reviews on them
Awesome mate! :D Glad I could help, that's why I made the video, because it took me so long to figure out how to wire it up.
The tacho i have was only a cheap Ebay one, pretty sure it's a universal one but it's great, has a shift light and lights up too, quick response to revs also. :)
Chris FPS perfect. I’ll order one tonight. Thanks again, absolute legend.
Для тахометра, в линии проводов (коса) с завода заложен разъём, потому-что линия проводов (коса) для акпп и мкпп одна и та же
Really helpful. Spent almost 2 weeks searching online how to find the correct wire for my Celica.
Awesome, glad to hear I could help mate! :D
What colour goes to what I have green which goes diagnostic port but then I have red, yellow and black
I have a 7afe, from 1993, and this works on it too!!
Awesome to hear bud! :)
Thanking you kindly for this !!
Champion 👌🏼
Just watched your GTA clutch kick video haha. Comparing your voice to then and now. Good to see you're still a car enthusiast 👌
haha awesome, yea that video blew up for whatever reason. Still into cars though :D
Will the 4afe engine use the same wires for the tachometer?
Not too sure to be honest mate, but it's worth a try!
Hello and thanks for that explanation. Made it way easier for me to understand!
Wondering if putting the green wire inside the OBD instead of splicing it would work also?
Also, would this work on my 1995 corolla OBD1? 4AFE
That would also work yea, That's actually how I first tested this. :D
I also tested it that way too. Right now I plugged it in the obd1 for now. But it reads pretty accurate.
Hi, may i know exactly which spot on the OBD shd be connected with the green wire? My is 1996 4afe
@@truckman7123 I was reading another comment on this video and the answer to that was “power up your gauge and check with the green wire every pin on the OBD to see which one gets signal” or something like that.
@@Spiritual_DriverAE101 Thks for d info. That 1 way locating the IGN pin.
I need this in my JDM Corolla 2003. JOBD port is in inside of the car, and doesn't have any pinout diagram cap. Any suggestions please?
Could get your RPM gauge powered up and turn the engine on, just test each pin with the wire from the gauge until it moves? :)
has this tachometer held up well over the years? the reviews on amazon aren't super reassuring.
Still works! Can' fault mine to be honest.
Hi Chris, any idea if that tach will work with Aygo which has original tach on some models, not my one. It has pre wired plug arraund speedometer but 5wires instead of 4...
Yes mate, this is a universal tacho. It will work on ANY car but the wiring may vary from one car to another :) It might be worth finding the wiring diagram for your car bud :D
How did you do your door card fabric
Wrapped in Suede fabric using spray adhesive and cut to the shape of the door card :) Quite easy actually
@@CrispThegamer how did you make it match with the rest of the upholstery ?
I didn't ;)
Just black suede on the door cards and that's it basically
so what is the colour of the wire you hooked it upto from the diagnostic port?
Not too sure now mate :/ I will have a look next time i'm at the car :D
green
Hi. Is it a 4efe 1.3 engine? Can I ask what modification have you done to it?
Not many power mods really tbh, just exhaust and intake ;) Soon to be mapped and turbo'd thought so stick around haha
Amazing. What is your choice for the turbo setup? Adding a turbo system or swapping the engine with a 4efte turbo? I’m deciding what is best and cheaper to do. Please let me know! 🔥☘️
My plan is just to whack an ebay turbo kit on it for the 4efe and blow this engine to bits eventually. Then I want to drop in a 1.8 VVTI engine from the newer corolla's and turbo that ;)
Haha yes! How many Kms on your engine? Mine has 230k... maybe I should buy one with less kilometers for about €500 and put the turbo on that one?
Kms? In the UK we do miles, my Corolla has 98,000 miles which converts to 157,715 Kms
It's about £600 for a turbo kit on Ebay, but I will also need a piggy back ECU to map and I'll need it mapping properly.
This is cool thanks m8 👍
No problem mate :D
How did I install thus?
Drill it into the dash like i did ;)
Can i do it on mine 4efe without boost, valve or turbo!?
Yes, mine doesnt have a turbo!
I like that ride tho👍
Thanks mate :D
