When asked from a fan about Selena and her friendship she had responded with this, "Yes definately still friends with her, uhm I'll always love her. She's amazing and uhm she's across the world right now. So I hope she's doing great and I love her very much." Later Demi was asked about Sel's latest single "Round & Round" and Demi said the following, "I did, I heard it and it was really, really, really good. Uhm, really proud of Selena. She's doing a really great job in music and uhm I can't wait for her new album."

I love you Demi so much! I have always loved you and Selena, favourite Disney Channel girls ever! You are my rolemodels, i have grown up with you, and i really was heartbroken when Demi left Disney Channel, and just recently Selena did too. It makes me so sad watching these videos, knowing that they really were BFF's and now it has come to this, she obviously misses Selena, she's covering her pain with a smile. From DC games to princess protection program, they will always be BFF's, ALWAYS. xo

@Shoppingstar525 I totally agree! Whenever Selena is asked about Demi in interviews she always speaks highly of her. She had an interview once where she was asked if they were still friends and she said, "I love her. I always have and always will. I have always spoken highly of her and her family and always will. " This just shows that Selena is such a great person. I'm sure Selena will always be there for Demi, no matter what. Don't you think Demi is a bit too clingy??
Demi and Selena are still like the moon and earth they are still best friends maybe they don't hang as often but Selena was very busy this year. She had 3 movies her perform launch award shows and more I mean she barely had time to date JB so.
you can still care about someone without being as close as you once were so i highly doubt that her response was fake :)

you know what, demi always spoke about selena in her videos with true feelings, either in interviews or not, but selena always spoke about demi in interviews or stuff like that (or more in interviews...) it looks like demi cares more than selena about their friendship, she even announced selena's new album while she sent a message to selena in one of her concerts before she started to sing "two worlds collide"... Well, that's just my opinion..

I think she was being honest, only its probably awkward now because while they might be on speaking terms again, maybe even friend terms its clearly not like it used to be and it probably won't be again. So she chose her words more carefully than she would have before, not being her best friend anymore.
@CodeLyokoLover100 They are friends right now! Demi said in an interview that she spoke to Selena after rehab. She said Selena was crying because she was worried about her, and how she was telling her that she was the one that was supposed to be crying because was the one with the problem, and they were laughing at the end and so on. Selena did hint that they weren't friends after the "Ask Taylor!" incident, but she recently said she's friends with Demi and she loves her.

@NGMboy935 at the teen choice awards this year a few days, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato and Lea Michelle and Miranda Cosgrove and this one chic from the "The Big Bang Theory" show got nominated for best tv actress: comedy. Selena ended up winning! :D :D and she totally deserved to. And in her speech, she said Lea Michelle totally deserved to win. If they were still friends, she would have said Demi Lovato deserved to win.

So the first time she dyed it black is when she made the comment about asking Taylor how Selena is, then everyone thought they werent friends but they said they were.
And now months later Demi says they are still friends.
But now its 2011 and they dont seem to be.
Any answers?

Selena's always been a better friend to Demi than she ever was to her. Selena still talks very highly of her, treats her like a sister, and she always means it. Demi puts in so little effort when she has to say something nice about Selena, cuz she doesn't mean it. I really don't like her. -3 Selena! She rocks!

@LIGHTS4ever Unfortunately, that's life. Something doesn't have to happen, because life does. You start doing other things, and the next thing you know it's been months since you saw each other last. I would think that with their lives (where they'll tour for months, or shoot for months) it's even easier to grow apart than for most people.
it's great that they're still friends but I don't know if it's really the truth because we didn't see them together for a long time now...
they still mite be friends they just arent best of friends right now and maybe possibly wen selena is done filming Monte Carlo(i wanna see it!!) in Europe then maybe hopefully they will meet up and become greater friends! like the tabloids say they grew apart. its true they did. but that doesnt mean that they aren't friends anymore.

I don't know if this is true or anything, but we really should not assuming stuff about the 'supposed' break of their friendship. Only Demi and Selena knows what truly happend. Also, they are still young, I think and hope that they will become friends again.
