It’s so funny we tend to admire things about other people’s sketch books that we don’t find in our own. I have seen other sketchbook videos and admired the chaos and exploration going on … like Sinix Designs sketch book videos. Lol I think it’s how our personalities express themselves on paper and it’s all beautiful. We just need to appreciate more what we have and our approach. As slattjohnson said trust the process and draw regardless. Let’s do this!
Just wanted to comment that I really love you’re more, mature and spiritual(values and beliefs about art) focused discussions in your videos, I get quite emotionally drained when art become very outwardly talked about, because an end product, well it’s just that, the end result from your time and effort. But if those hours were agony..Well it’s a bit conflicting. Now with many new things popping up such as ai, I think many artists are having to go within, and evaluate their beliefs and why they do art in the first place, but there was always amazing artist far better than you, or tools which provided shortcuts, so I hope at the end of the day people still feel value in doing this hobby.
Hey hooollypickles! Thanks for the kind words. Yes, definitely with AI kicking out images. Some go … well but AI can do what you do. Okay … so if there is a AI robot that can fish that means you should never go fishing again for fun? 😆. Enjoy the journey. Glad to have you along with me. Thanks!
@@canilearntodraw2579 Yes exactly, put it that way and my grandfather would definitely agree aswell hahaha! But, still.. hearts out for a lot of artist working in the field, it has been a hard thing to go through as a community. I still believe we’ll get by, after all It can’t be understated how much value the person/process behind art has to the consumers of it.
I don't know why whenever I mention some unknown factor my comment is deleted. I'm just going to say all the resources I recommend and you can search for them on UA-cam and Google. Most do not require money.
Hey Randomthoughts! My first piece of advice would be to draw what you enjoy drawing. Think about the type of drawing you want to do … academic vs drawing from imagination vs more cartoonish etc. then experiment. What we enjoy looking at may not be the same as what we enjoy drawing. Join a beginner class or book that fits that style. Anyone will do. Just look for a book that or class that seems interesting to YOU. finally realize that learning to draw is a lifetime pursuit. Enjoy the journey and avoid the race to a destination. Hope this helps.
For some reason my big long comment gets auto deleted, but this random useless one gets to stay??? Is the UA-cam auto-mod seriously that daft? There's no cursing or external links or anything offensive or spam. What gives @UA-cam?
Thanks! Yeah I think I should do a video of some of the old ones versus the newer ones. Would be fun to see the difference … hopefully there is a lot of difference lol 😆. Thanks for the feedback g.e.whitman

My comment to you keeps getting deleted when I explain in detail so I'll try and be brief and write one or two comments instead.

A Dad Who Draws, Proko, Andrew Loomis books, and DrawABox are courses.
Instagram, Pinterest, and ArtStation are reference sources.
