"Rinne" (Rin-ney) = "Reincarnation". The MV was shot on old 8mm film stock (with added effects) in honour of the Japanese horror film of the same name. In the film a serial killer films the dying moments of his victims on 8mm film believing he can capture the soul leaving the body. It's a favourite film of Saiki.

Yes, they used 2, Super 8, 8mm film cameras, plus they used a couple action cameras, like Go-Pros, set to a higher frame rate (100 fps+) to capture Akane's feet on her kick pedals and Kanami's fingers on her fretboard, as they were both too fast for the 24 fps of the Super 8 cameras. The footage was then edited together and had a filter put over the top to hide the action cam footage from the Super 8 footage.

I love this video more every time I SEE IT) 😊 /
In regards the look of the video..
I understand his particular esthetic, saying he wished the effect on the video would burn away to show Kaname's playing clearer, but this was their artistic choice.

Akane really shows her restraint with her kicks as she never "over does it". Here's a drummer with the the ability but knows when to and when NOT to use it. Akane is a true master at that, IMHO.

Hell, even Band-Maid videos are inventive. Saiki is pretty damned creative. She wanted to video filmed in 8mm film to give it the visual affect they were looking for in the song. With their creativity, courage in trying any rock genre in "doing what it takes" to get out their music, the five talented young Japanese women need to be applauded.

And it was filmed with an 8mm camera. I have a photo taken at the video shoot.

Akane is on fire, again! The "Shut Up!" at the end was directed at people saying the band had gone too poppy, take that!

If Band-Maid isn't ripping your face off (Rinne, No God, Black Hole), they're soothing your soul (Bestie, Daydreaming, Memorable). Their music does what great music is supposed to do... move you, if only for a moment, into another realm. What more could you ask for from a Band of incredible Maids?! Thank you, Mr. X, for bringing your new viewers into the Band-Maid experience.

Welcome back to Band Maid. Based on your artistic commentary, I think you’re in for a real treat with “Blooming.” The obfuscation of the subject that gradually clears is exactly what the artistic vision of this video is. The fact that the song itself is one of Kanami’s most brilliant works is just a bonus.
Besides, the fact that one of your subscribers used the word “obfuscation” correctly deserves something! 😂

Miku and Saike are the only singer and songwriters that I know that can rhyme him in two languages.

Japanese is pretty simple to pronounce if you don't pronounce it like English. Two letter syllables, three if there's something like anN on the end, and no silent Es making a long vowel. So it's Rin-Ne. That was NOT a filter. It's a Japanese Horror movie Rinne used a lot of 8mm film, so this was shot with 8mm film too. You can watch it on UA-cam. But you committed the ultimate BAND-MAID sin. You talked of the lead. There's a T-Shirt that says, "Shut Up! Kanami is speaking".
