Just so everyone knows: you can crush up powder eyeshadow and mix it with a little gum arabic to make custom watercolors. Don't let the pigment go to waste!
Do you know where eyeshadows can be donated for others to make watercolors out of? I don't paint, but it'd be great for eyeshadows I don't use to have a second life.
@@bloomwiththestars just to add to anyone else's suggestions - if you do it yourself you can always gift them to artsy friends! You can get little pots for the watercolors to set in on Amazon but I've also seen people use like seashells and other creative pots. Might be a fun weekend project!
most decluttering videos are so boring because they don't throw anything away, but youuuu omg i'm so proud/hurt that you were able to separate yourself from so much stuff!! i love you trix💗
You can donate gently used makeup to Project Beauty Share! (I know Trixie already did alway with her collection already and this also only applies to non expired makeup) but if anyone is decluttering in the future, they clean and donate makeup to women in need! Geared toward job interviews or normalizing life again if they needed to leave in an abuse situation by gifting them some essential makeup!
Not that this is really the place, but it feels kind of fucked that makeup is such a necessity for women that there would be a need for programs like this. I get wanting to wear it to feel more like yourself when your life is so out of your control, but to actually _need_ to wear it to be considered presentable is absolutely ridiculous.
That is such a great idea! A great place to donate would be to homeless shelters or domestic violence shelters. Also maybe set a bit aside and have a giveaway for poor MUAs who are going to school for makeup or do special effects makeup and they can enter by leaving their IG IDs and then Trixie can pick a talented up and coming MUA and give them exposure and a bit of free new PR makeup! If you agree, please like this /OPs comment to boost it up so it gets seen and hopefully considered and leave any ideas you have for a makeup giveaway or what you'd like to see in a giveaway video.

This was so incredibly satisfying to watch. Not to mention, fun! I feel like I learn way more from seeing what makeup people choose to keep vs toss than straight up product reviews.
I like her approach of only picking out a few things you love and getting rid of the rest. I think the marie kondo method of assessing each thing individually can encourage you to keep too much. Like maybe all my red lip liners do bring me joy but I don't need 20 of them
The first time ever I decluttered my makeup coincided with me taking Microbiology Lab in college. The germs freaked me out so now i actually listen to the throw away date on the bottom (the little tub with the number tells you how many months you should keep it after its opened).
Hey Trixie! I'm constantly drowning in homework and college has been stressful. I'm an only child and your videos give me big sister vibes and they have been a source of anxiety relief for me. Thank you for being you
If you're in the Los Angeles area, you can donate makeup to most shelters in the downtown area. It's great for uplifting down spirits during life-changing events like job hunting.
Video suggestion: do a look ONLY with makeup you never use but wish you did. No cheating, no standard setting powder, foundation, concealer, nothing. Only products you've never used *for a show* (youtube product videos don't count)

I have watched this too many times now. That was a reasonable amount of makeup for 10 years for someone who uses it. And you were extremely practical and realistic in your declutter. 10/10 super enjoyable.
An excellent tip for keeping things that are sentimental over useful is to take a picture. You will get the same fuzzy feeling without the clutter in most instances.
This video made me reflect. Why do they sell us soooo much makeup? The only thing I ever truly ran out of are concealer and foundation. Everything else, I use 1% and then it all needs to be thrown out because of the expiration date.

Really? She’s great painting herself but every time I see her painting another drag race queen I’m like does pearl hate her or something.
@@naurcho katya's IG comments are still limited because of that lol
@@electricperfume7870 I actually liked katyas make up
As someone who has grown up around hoarders and is unfortunately a hoarder myself, Im very proud of you Trixie! Especially when its something sentimental its so so hard to get rid of but you did such an amazing job!
I love how his drawers look low key. All products he used and the foundation stains have this charm that lets me know he knows what he likes lol
@@bloomwiththestars there’s a few creators on youtube who do it, you maybe could dm them and ask if they might want them?
@@bloomwiththestars you can send em to me, id paint something with em if the colours are interesting
I love the wholesome parts of UA-cam 💕
I don't understand why women HAVE to wear make up. That's so so so fucked up.
Giving unhygienic and used make up to poor people and pretending it's charity?
The way she kept apologizing to the makeup for throwing it away, she’s just like me LMAO
The subtle sound effect when the one pallet slid to the floor at 20:03 had me dying. 🤣
Am I the only one that would find it exciting or satisfying to watch a “Donating PR” video??
I would love that! Soooo satisfying...
The editors running commentary on this was on point this week. Shout out I see you.
i lol'd at 'how many lips do you have'
The blurry shot of the newly cleaned blush drawer followed by "this is what happened when you self-tape smh" really got me lol
I love to get high and watch decluttering videos. I have nothing to declutter myself because I'm a minimalist. Watching her throw away all this stuff brought me so much joy.
same so relaxing

IM LAUGHING SM BECAUSE OF THE EDITING ITS SO FUNNY 4 NO REASON
Im literally so proud of him I COULD NOT
Trixie is the Marie Kondo of drag y’all
Love how he intentionally skips over every JS item . Not even a mention 🤣
I noticed that too… to be honest I never understood what happened for Trixie to stop mentioning his products. 😅
It’s what she deserves 😇
@@dannysweethearts never seen the two being friends. and if they were then trixie skips over JS products because he's a bad person.
Jeffree Star aswell as James Charles - you wont see mentioned anymore by any unproblematic MUAs (i despise the word problematic but its fitting for JS and JC)
I was thinking the same thing!!
I was giggling when I watched most of the JS makeup go into the bin.
This was so stressful… but I’m very proud of your “does this spark joy?” attitude.
I am flabbergasted at the AMOUNT you let go. This is basically like throwing everything away compared to other videos I've seen. Super proud of you!!! It was really entertaining to watch, the satisfaction of an almost empty drawer 😩💅🏽
This was so incredibly satisfying to watch. Not to mention, fun! I feel like I learn way more from seeing what makeup people choose to keep vs toss than straight up product reviews.
This was SO IMPRESSIVE! I wonder if Trixie had a moment of panic after she got rid of it.
I probably would
she got drunk and ugly cried about the lip liners🎉
I like her approach of only picking out a few things you love and getting rid of the rest. I think the marie kondo method of assessing each thing individually can encourage you to keep too much. Like maybe all my red lip liners do bring me joy but I don't need 20 of them
As someone who can't help but "keep things just in case" but also has ocd for cleaning, this gave me so much anxiety, yet so much satisfaction.
The first time ever I decluttered my makeup coincided with me taking Microbiology Lab in college. The germs freaked me out so now i actually listen to the throw away date on the bottom (the little tub with the number tells you how many months you should keep it after its opened).
Lmaoo notice that huge cup of brushes sitting in the background. Him: I'm literally blind
my problem is i never know when i bought it so ill be like..when is this expired LMAO i should rlyl keep a note on my phone from now on
My mom has makeup older than me and she refuses to throw it out . I tried telling her about the germs but she doesn’t care . She is indeed a hoarder
THIS IS SO REAL im a bio student with a concentration in microbio. I'm much more aware of germs now
I wanna Trixie in a non-drag makeup look soooo bad!
Please do a video with Latrice! We need to see two queens with such dainty laughs together in one tiny studio doing makeup
Inspirational, honestly. This is what growing up without resources looks like and I feel it in my soul 😭💖
Me over here like... "girl you are a professional makeup artist, I'm not judging you for having too much makeup."
This was traumatic for ME to watch. Don't know how it didn't traumatise you, doing it. Very commendable, Trixie. Very brave. Very girlboss.
😂
Video suggestion: do a look ONLY with makeup you never use but wish you did. No cheating, no standard setting powder, foundation, concealer, nothing. Only products you've never used *for a show* (youtube product videos don't count)
So proud of you for getting yourself to do this.❤️ I used to have a hoarding problem (especially with makeup) because of PTSD, but as I'm trying to heal, I'm trying to get rid of the extra stuff I have. Thank you for being an inspiration and always being yourself❤️
This really helped put my girlfriend's 6-drawer make-up vanity in perspective. Thank you, Trixie.
I have watched this too many times now. That was a reasonable amount of makeup for 10 years for someone who uses it. And you were extremely practical and realistic in your declutter. 10/10 super enjoyable.
if this means you’re moving, i’m SO EXCITED to see the new filming room and the pink barbie paradise you create❤️❤️
She is! She talked about it on the podcast - she bought a house and she and David are moving in together.
@@abbeetw STOP IT i’m so behind on the podcast omg. i’m so excited for them!!! more david content more david content
Out of all the makeup declutter vids ive watched, this one by far has kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time, it was so refreshing and fun omg
I love that a lot of the makeup she kept actually ended up being drugstore brands. So much nyx
Samee if it works it works! love a bit of nyx
I adore NYX liquid liners, especially the vivid brights.
I'm sad about my first (and only) NYX palette though. Color payoff is just lacking.
The amount or reassurance coming from my screen was emanating and even I gent reassured after this
BEST DECLUTTER EVER... YOU ACTUALLY DECLUTTERED... I THINK YOU AND LAURA LEE ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT REALLY TRULY DECLUTTER...
That foundation drawer looked like a CRIME SCENE when she first swung it open 😂 So proud of you baby!
“I’m think that’s really reasonable!” After every drawer 😂
Loved this, keep the content coming
This is so therapeutic to watch, makes me want to tackle my mess of a beauty room 😭
elisexcvii tickle...lol...
@@ticketyboo2456 whoops, fixed it
same LMAO makes me wanna start throwing away random stuff in my bedroom that’s been there for years 😭😭🙏🏽
Thank you this just helped me go through about 15 yrs of makeup and it made my anxiety level he as low as it could be. Struggling together!
An excellent tip for keeping things that are sentimental over useful is to take a picture. You will get the same fuzzy feeling without the clutter in most instances.
Always impressed by her makeup memory. I used that one time and the result was this.
This makes me feel better about my makeup hoarding situation
Yeah, but do you have that last ten years Trixie Mattel money to work with? I don't but I did some DAMAGE 😮💨
"netflic" 0:50
I come back to this video every time I need inspiration to clean and declutter
damn if this doesn't show us we need brands with sustainable packaging in the worst way
loving this type of content. purge, clean, organize, decorate, thrive
I literally just finished rewatching the “Trixie Marie Kondos her make up kit” so this couldn’t be more perfect timing 🤣🤣
it makes me so happy whenever i see a J* product and trixie doesn’t even mention it or think about keeping it 😂😂😂
I noticed that too! Like it never existed...
😂😂
nobody needs that troublsome energy
i was looking for this specific comment lol
She kept the Drug Lord liquid lip.
This video made me reflect. Why do they sell us soooo much makeup? The only thing I ever truly ran out of are concealer and foundation. Everything else, I use 1% and then it all needs to be thrown out because of the expiration date.
I really, really appreciate how real and honest you are about products. When it seems like every other girl is always overhyping an awful product for a quick buck, I can always trust Trixie to be upfront. Also, genuinely impressive how much you got rid of. So proud of you.
