Very nice portraits, Andrew! I've got a question concerning the light: Did you mix ambient and strobe, or did you only use the window light as a mere reference? Thanks in advance, Tilman (happy RB67 owner ;-))

Hi Tillman thanks for the kind words! The ambient light was mainly used as a reference but some ambient light was factored into the exposure. Had the strobe not fired it wouldn’t have been a completely dark frame, just extremely underexposed. Hope that helps!

Cheers man, yeah that helps a ton. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Tri-X it's my favorite black and white film. But I don't shoot with it very often because it's sooo expensive. I have found a good alternative in 35mm, I bought a 30m reel of Eastman Kodak Double X that is pretty much like Tri-X but a bit slower, in medium format I push to 800 HP5 to achieve a similar result of Tri-X that has more contrast. I still love Tri-X but it's really too expensive right now, I probably will shoot some rolls of Tri-X here and there in some special occasions, but for the most part I probably will use DoubleX and HP5

I know, I should have mentioned the price really but I don’t shoot as much film as I used to so don’t mind the added cost occasionally!

Oh 100%, just make sure to expose accordingly with it being expired 👍🏼

@@AndrewMclean yeah it’s expired by 12 years I think so I’ll be checking my maths on how many stops I’ll need to adjust by

@garethjones5068 general rule of thumb is 1 stop per 10 years but also depends how it’s been stored
