We are using PureIt Ultima Eco Mineral RO+UV+MF for 3.5 years and there is a big problem. We have small kids and old parents, and we all are consuming this filtered water daily. And gradually we all suffered with lot of health issues. Since we are using this machine for more than 3 years, we faced bone weaknesses, joint pains, weak digestion, weak vision, hairloss etc. When we went for thorough checkups, we got to know that these conditions are caused due to loss of minerals and vitamins in filtered water. And the only culprit is our water purifier. The concerned thing is when I checked the TDS level of water from PureIt Ultima Eco Mineral RO+UV+MF, we found it very less TDS i.e. 6 to 12 mg/ltr than usual what human beings should be consumed. It is a great health concern for us. Thank you so much for making this video.

After watching all your videos I have decided to go for UV + UF + Carbon. (Carbon is optional) Could you please recommend me a best brand for my requirements. My budget is 20-25k.

Hi Akshay, I've made a specific video for RO water purifiers, you can take a look here- ua-cam.com/video/WCsfItV8WRI/v-deo.html. Hope this helps clarify.
Great insights in the video. I have two queries which are confusing me to make final purchase: 1. If there is TDS controller in RO, will all the minerals still be removed, even if I set the TDS levels to, say, 90? 2. The TDS of my home water is 105 (tested multiple times). Now, I am not sure if there are dissolved metals (mercury, arsenic, pesticides, etc). In this case, how should i decide for a purchase between UV+UF or RO+UF?
Hi Rohit! The minerals get removed when TDS is lowered significantly, so controlling the output TDS should help controlling that. In addition, these days the ROs come with additional tech for retaining minerals too - not sure about the efficiency of that, but it's something :). I am looking to buy membrane and 3 filters for assembled RO water purifier. Do you have any recommendation for that either in Amazon or offline?
I have an underground water supply with tds 500 approx and I am RO functionality but the tds level after filtration is very low, around 50. So I don't need an RO.
Informative and much appreciated, thank you❤ my borewell TDS is 316ppm. I recently repalced my aqua RO+UV+UF+TDS Controller, which resulted a 20ppm TDS with a Pureit RO+MF, but unfortunately the tds has fallen to a shocking 12 with this. Should i completely skip the RO function and go for UV+UF or maybe an MF or nano?
Mam,your explanation in purifying water is excellent.my doubt is my municipal water tds is 250.what purifier shall I used.pls recomend.I am from Hyderabad city.pls tell about Kengen water? Is it genuine or something , business.pls give reply mam.
Hi Aluginti, below 200 UV/UF is ok. Above that you may need an RO. Alternatively - you can also use a water softener with UF/UF. I have not yet researched Kangen - will check and let you know.
If we want to enhance the taste of water and tds is under 200, should we go with MTDS or mineralizer? Mineralizer one will reduce TDS but include minerals at the end of purification, MTDS is not so useful but it has taste enhancers at the end of it, so will it be beneficial? Which one should we go with?
Neither - you should go with a UV/UF purifier as TDS is lower than 200. You may consider using something like this amzn.to/3QyXFLy to enhance water taste or you could go natural by adding some mint leaves / fruit in water to enhance taste. You don't need to treat water any more.
Hi Tarique, so like I mentioned in the video, RO removes a majority of essential minerals as well in water - resulting in water that does not have enough nutrients that water should have. So these days, vendors are coming up with mineral booster or mineralizer to enhance the mineral content in the water after the RO process. Hope this helps 😊
@@TheGrapevineIndia thanks Saumya for the reply. I wanted to know how these mineraliser works. do they really help in restoring the minerals. my guess is may be they substitute only few types minerals and not sure if the quantity of those added minerals are enough. anyway thanks again.
After RO, water will pass through another mineralizer filter to add it. What minerals are added, not sure yet. If you already have an RO, there is another option these days to remineralize you can add drops like this as well amzn.to/3qqGleu
Hi I have a TDS of 480. Is UV plus UF advisable as I am not comfortable with RO as it is making the water lifeless. Kindly reply back. What else do you recommend for 480 TDS
Hi Rajkumar, it depends on what your usecase is. Under sink is useful if you want to hide away your water purifier or you want to connect it to a refrigerator. Both have equivalent technology - under the sink may be slightly older technology though.
Hi ma'am. Does switching off the power supply in a UV+UF water purifier after the tank gets full affect the filtration process? Do I need to keep it powered all the time?
In vguard zenora, whether uf is available? I don't think so, is it still okay to go with that ? Instead of UF, whether it has some other technology to remove killed virus and bacteria by UV?
Pls help me out…. We have around 300 tds normal tap running water but in our city there is a big problem of calcium in water. Which one would be the best purifier UF+UV or Ro or what ? Pls suggest.
Hi Kapil, is calcium too low? With 300TDS, I would recommend an RO as most UV/UF water purifiers claim they only support upto 200ppm. Alternatively, since you are on the edge of safe levels, you could use a water softener before UV/UF. Can find the best waterpurifiers listed here www.thegrapevine.today/best
Hi, the way the RO process works is (if it has a tds controller) it adds back some part of unpurified water - a negligible quantity that will not affect the overall purity of water but will help to add back minerals.
Hi, I browsed a water purifier moonwaterindia, they claim to use different membrane, what is your suggestion on the same on the quality of the purifier - moonwater spring?
Hi, thanks for sharing.. www.who.int/water_sanitation_health/dwq/chemicals/tds.pdf. WHO standards talks about below 300ppm agreeable from a palatability (taste) point of view, not necessarily safety. Like also mentioned in the video, BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) says below 500 is ok as well. It’s finally up to an individual on what level of risk they are willing to take. FWIW - UV/UF only supports upto 200PPM.

Direct and clear.
Flourish!
Hi Pooja, thank you so much!
What is the safe level for drinking
Hi I have a TDS of 480. Is UV plus UF advisable as I am not comfortable with RO as it is making the water lifeless. Kindly reply back. What else do you recommend for 480 TDS
Hi, you can consider this as an alternative to RO amzn.to/3dTNGRA
tds around 500-600 doesnt necessarily need RO. NF is good
Which purifier is better under sink or wall mounted please explain..
Hi Rajkumar, it depends on what your usecase is. Under sink is useful if you want to hide away your water purifier or you want to connect it to a refrigerator. Both have equivalent technology - under the sink may be slightly older technology though.
You really deserve a like and an applause from me. Thanks maam 😊
Daammmnnn great explanation mam
My tds is 233 should I go for RO Or uv/uf is enough?
Tq for the information .....my water tds level is 230 it is okay? to buy uv+ uf combo (aquaguard aura )
Hi Priyanka, yes you can.
Hi ma'am. Does switching off the power supply in a UV+UF water purifier after the tank gets full affect the filtration process? Do I need to keep it powered all the time?
Hi @grematter, if the one you get has ongoing uv lamp sanitization of the purified water, then yes - need to keep it powered on at all times.
Hey! Can you please give more information on under the sink ones?
Hey Sowmya! Yes plan to as part of this series 😊
In vguard zenora, whether uf is available? I don't think so, is it still okay to go with that ?
Instead of UF, whether it has some other technology to remove killed virus and bacteria by UV?
Hi Sree Raj, no it's not available. That's why I have this one as a recommendation instead amzn.to/3w73FPw
Plz suggest under sink water purifier for 200TDS
EXCELLENT ,SUPER SE BHI UPARRRRRRRRRRR,THANKS A LOT
Thanks sujoy choudhury! Glad you found it useful!
As per ur comments mentioned RO will also removes Minerals then how come we can select combination Minerals also required pls
Hi, the way the RO process works is (if it has a tds controller) it adds back some part of unpurified water - a negligible quantity that will not affect the overall purity of water but will help to add back minerals.
Superb explanation 🙏👌👍😊
Hey i have tested my tds of tap water it has less than 100ppm ??
Which purify should i buy?
Just a UV/UF one. Can consider this one amzn.to/3JlmgkV or amzn.to/3YvHUY3 for stainless steel tank
Suprised that you did not mention about Nano filter in this video and did you tell the disadvantages of RO filters
This is an older video :) IF you see my latest videos, Nano features predominantly.
Hi, I browsed a water purifier moonwaterindia, they claim to use different membrane, what is your suggestion on the same on the quality of the purifier - moonwater spring?
Hi, is this something you could assist me with based on your knowledge, else do let me know
Hi S R Narayanan! Their site does not seem to open. You can consider this amzn.to/3KwdM9l which uses a nano filter, considered better than RO.
@@TheGrapevineIndia Thanks Sowmya!
3:31 WHO standards for TDS is 100-500 (safe)..Below 100 Tds means it wont have any useful minerals...so 100- 400 is ideal for drinking..
