Ross builds us a mini or jungle kit using a Mapex floor tom mixed with the Pearl JG16 Jungle Jig floor tom to Bass Drum converter Kit for the drummer who has everything.
Wow 10 years old. I’ve got an Mapex Mbirch in that exact colour and a 12” black panther Chris Adler mk1 snare. I will be buying the pearl bass drum conversion kit now I’ve heard this !!
I just downloaded a Amen Break kit into my NI Maschine (why chop up a break when someone has done it already(properly) on FreeSounds). WOOOT one proper and authentic jungle kit!!!!
Hey Ross, Cool video. I just recently put together a similar kit. What a great idea for smaller venues. If I could ever get the drummer onboard with this though. He always says he has to have his full kit. I guess he will just miss out on the money for them particular gigs. In any case, I have a question. I am gonna port the heads on the floor tom (kicker) using the old soup can trick, but where did you get the fancy black rings that are on there, or who makes them? Thanks.
once i put together a mini kit. john dolmayan timbale pack for the toms, lp micro six-inch snare, ice bell for a ride, ten inch sabian AA splash for a crash, ten inch mini hats, and a rack tom for a kick (i don't remember which one i used). great for playing in subways
I just got a Pearl Masters 16" floor in lime green to silver sparkle fade with Pearl floor to bass conversion kit , with a Pearl M1040 10x4 maple snare drum with iss mount, a pair of mini hats made up of 2 splashes (Paiste Twenty series 10' splash--used but mint for 50$ and Meinl Classics Custom 10" splash new for 62$ ), all this, minus hi hat stand and Gibraltar L-arm cymbal mount which i already have, for $385 Canadian dollars.. So you see, you can make a jungle kit for less than $1000..;)
I made a mini kit for practically nothing. Old floor tom cost £5, made the rest from bits of hardware and wood lying around. The rest of the kit is made up of standard stuff I already have, but goes to show - with a bit of ingenuity there's no need to spend something like £60 on a few bits of metal to convert a FT to a KD. If anyone would like designs for the kick pedal jig, send me a message - all you need is few blocks of wood and some aluminium plate, or whatever you have lying around.
PERFECT DRUMS! If you wanna play like the straycats or are unable to play a full set of drums,I dont get it why would someone choose to play a set without 80% of the drums that make up a drum set ?
No you don't understand there is a very specific scientific formula to play jungle drums, I believe you've been playing something closer to aqua drums or sub tropical rainforest drums with that formula there.
Cool little kit. Never saw anyone muffle a snare like that. A signature move for sure!
the foot muffle is genious
this dude looks like Frodo and Tom Green had a kid
Man that is such a sweet kit !

How to build a jungle drum kit
1.) Get drums you like
2.) Play jungle music with them
kit sounds nice! Excellent splash.
This is awesome, i need this set up!
Informative video, Ross - didn't know about the jungle bass drum adaptor or cymbal stacker. Nice groove later on BTW
I use the Pearl conversion kit. It works great. Evans makes 16" BD heads for both wooden and steel hoops.
This is perfect ,this is exactly what I'm gonna make
Nice playing mate!
Does anyone know a product code for those types of Cymbal stackers that he has used??
Many thanks,
Jonny
why ur a drummer u can groove without anyone questioning
and its amazing
hey ross, you are a good drummer!
So Frodo went to a Music Store right after destroying the ring
I wanna get two of these small beginners drum kits for little kids and put em together to make an epic metal kit
Like your style....
Love it!!!!
sweet, nice job .!
would be a good idea to get the extra parts to convert the floor tom to a bass drum if you had limited space when travelling for gigging
Be right back, about to try that leg trick..
the key here is the `pearl jungle` - its low price and its solving such a big frob with no additional work.. good job again pearl! :)
@AspireAndInspire If you watched the full thing, he does play the kit.
Could you explain in more depth which cymbal stackers were used and how?
what cymal attachment on the bass drum? thanks
this is awsum
What kind of tuning did you use on the 16" bass drum heads on this video? Sounds great...
@hellakoolguyjp It looks like a clear EC2 or EC1 with a Falam patch and a G1 or G2 coated on the reso side.
i could not do that leg trick with such a straight face :D
I just downloaded a Amen Break kit into my NI Maschine (why chop up a break when someone has done it already(properly) on FreeSounds). WOOOT one proper and authentic jungle kit!!!!
Ah, brilliant!
Hi!
I just bought a 16x16" floor tom and I wanted to ask you for the size of the holes. Maybe they are both 2" or 4"? It sounds freaking great!
thats a great idea
@joshuag94 It's actually not a video camera, but a still photo camera with a video function. That's why it has a photo lens, that has to be adjusted.
This should be viral

Cheer up, Ross!
Very cool
the "leg part" was funny:))

***** LOL !!! `building` :):):):)
Hey, what's that "L"-shaped cymbal stand that comes from the floor tom clamp at 2:23?
Looks like a short boom arm with probably a 6" cymbal stacker. Closest I could find is a PDP short boom but it's like 15".
How much doea a of that cost? Sounds great!

where can i get those small hole snappers??
Ross, how did you build the cymbal assembly . What are the parts including bass drum L attachment rod?
What is the mic you used as an over head?
We're did you get it from.
Hi! Can anybody tell me the name of the cymbal arm?
Awesome
@ACDCNut55 I watched the full thing. I know he plays the kit.
I'm referring to Jungle as in the style of music
what heads were used in this?
what is the cam
Snare lick followed by...a shoe overtone?
Where is this shop I want to buy a drum kit
Looks like a G1 on the front with an EC2 on the batter side.

haha, thumbs up for the trick with your leg.

@ozewiespekel13 nicely done!
