The deluxe seems like the perfect tone sculpting OD for before the amp that I always wished someone would build! Only problem now is that I want one for my effects loop also.
I think you just talked me into buying one. I have the older version and this seems like it addresses the two issues I had with the old one - namely the shape, and the additional eq functionality.
It always comes down to taste, but normally ParaEq in front of the amp works well for thickening it up. I like to think of the ParaEq as a means to create the ideal sound right before something else. If it's your amp that you're focusing on, having the ParaEq right before it makes sense.

I've seen that little pedal stand with so many reviewers, where are they from?
Does effects loop or the front really make that much difference...in tone shaping....?
Could you use this thicken up the sound of a tighter amp? If so, would you use it in the loop or in front of the amp?

why have them both side by side? you never use the regular version just the deluxe.
