    I started my saw up once and it ran in reverse and spun the clutch off the spindle. I didn’t have the cover on and everything went flying. I found the clutch drum and the washers and that was it. One thing though, that saw was running crazy fast.

      The saw didn't run in reverse, the clutch is reverse threaded. See how this bloke is trying to turn clockwise? That's because it reverse threaded

    You used a foot of soft rope or starter rope and not a screw in metal piston stop I’m praying????

      If he used a metal one that clutch is the last of his problems!

      I used soft rope... but it was on so tight (yes I turned the correct way). I have to apply so much pressure that after I replaced it it idles way too high and no amount of carb adjustment can fix it. I might have broken a seal somewhere or messed up the piston somehow

      For the clutch yes and usually the flywheel because if it span the same rotation as the engine your nut would fall off

      @@jonnysnipes3123 Kinda varies from brand to brand, its the same on older mopeds and motorcycles etc. No idea why only some used to do it, as links threading has been around forever

      That’s a spanner for a 4 inch grinder to remove the lock ring for holding wheel’s or flapper wheel’s on your grinder…

      @@BrightKugonza 😂👍. If it works then it’s just great in my world… I would actually almost prefer to do stuff the wrong way with my own tool concoction then to have the right tools every time! It’s definitely a better sense of accomplishment when you learn that your long screwdriver wedged across the jaw’s of your long needle nose pliers are awesome for spinning off your clutch then you don’t need no stinking specialty tool! 😂😂😂

      @DaveyBlue32 Рік тому

      @@BrightKugonza I actually also had a really old flat head screwdriver that was my grandpa’s and then my dad got a freaking hold of it and he is just a dumbazz about tools because it’s that old super wood handle and it’s a 3/8 socket head in the top of the solid steel full length shaft down to what was a fantastic flat head but my old man was trying to break something loose or something and broke that flat head so I ground it down and it’s a rectangle so you can set it against the clutch and smack it down with a hammer with rope in the cylinder to hold the piston…

      Some of his countrymen can cut pretty good but this is not a good advertisement for letting this guy loose on my favourite 660 or 084
