- We're definitely part of the EVERGLOW fan club at this point. These ladies nail it again with their music video of "FIRST". It's almost as if they cannot make a bad song.

One of my fav songs! Glad to see you liked it. Everglow and Gidle are touring the US starting in September, maybe they'll perform near ya and you can make it to the show! Kpop shows are a blast.

Everglow is an example of a point I try to make to fans: Where any group "ranks" is not based on just talent. I have yet to see an untalented K-pop group. There are so many factors other than talent that influence the general audience and some groups have more of them than others, and that's why your favorite might not "rank" as high as you think they should. That's why you shouldn't worry about where your group stands in the rankings, or whether other groups are "less talented", but just like who you like, while understanding that fans of other groups can legitimately make the same arguments that you make in favor of your favorite.
We've talked about seeing groups grow, but we subscribers have also seen CoachCastTV grow. You guys dove into a lot of unfamiliar territory and had to find your footing while absorbing a lot of new information, and you've really hit your stride. I can't wait to see what you'll be like when you grow up. ;)
Very true about liking who you like without tearing others down. We couldn't agree more. And thank you for the kind words. Yes, we've heard a lot of stuff that wasn't in our comfort zone or historical listening.
It has surprised us the talent of these K-pop groups and we're embracing this music...which was not something we expected when we did our first BLACKPINK reaction.
Definitely my favorite EVERGLOW MV and track! These ladies bring the attitude to the stage but are absolutely sweet when you meet them in person. That persona makes for a great performance.

Great reaction as always. This song is one of my favorites from Everglow and it just goes hard all the way. Sihyeons voice is insane on this one and it has one of my absolute favorite E:U raps in it. The choreography is also quite something and as you guys said the video is just stunning. I really love this song. Everglow is one of those groups who probably could have done even more but just never seemed to really get the attention they deserved. Hopefully the comeback they just had with Zombie will lead to even greater things because they really deserve it.
Loved your reaction! If you want to do more Everglow, it is probably reasonable to go in order, so "Pirate" and then "Slay". I you want to see even more of their awesome choreography, they have some great dance practice- videos on their channel.

The member you pointed out was Sihyeon, who is also the leader. Sadly, Everglow is one those groups that is under appreciated in South Korea. And they may be on the bubble as far as continuing. Like Dreamcatcher, they have a larger international following, but unlike Dreamcatcher they do not have the same level of company support - in spite of the big budget mvs.
That's unfortunate to hear. The group is truly talented. Thanks for the name. Could not remember it, but her voice is outstanding.

the sad thing is there's probably not a whole lot more of Everglow to react to unless you do some lives - i think 'Slay' and 'Pirate' are the only title tracks left to watch MV's - they do have some good b-sides which might have lyric videos

Soyeon, for whatever reason, has a new show called "Country Kitchen Dream" where she's out in the countryside in a classic Korean house, and cooks.
Seriously, it's a cooking show. This was not on my (G)I-dle bingo card. I've seen one where she cooked hummungous steaks and one called "I almost blew up my house making popcorn."
For a side of Soyeon I didn't know I'd ever see, this is kind of a hoot. You might check it out. I started out thinking I'd watch a couple of minutes and wound up watching the damn thing. I guess this is just another reason to know you're never going to be able to predict what this woman will do next, but it's probably going to be entertaining...

If you're at all curious, check out the one where Soyeon makes twisted donuts. They got a guest chef to help her who turns out to be...Soyeon's little sister who is a pastry chef. I didn't even know Soyeon had a little sister, but apparently she lives with Soyeon (make sense to have someone watching their place while Soyeon is gone) and it's fun watching them work together with some mild sisterly questioning and bickering. For some reason, I find it entertaining watching a record-breaking creative try to convince her sister she can measure the proper amount of milk just by eyeballing it. (Sounds like Soyeon - who needs measuring cups?)
In case you haven't seen it, Jisoo's "Influenza" zombie series just dropped a poster and It Looks Good! Can't post it here so look it up if you're interested. Looks like it's going to be a bigger production than they've fessed up to. Our Favorite Unnie is back to kick (dead)ass...

@@CoachCastTV Well, heck, if you can't get enough Zombies, you know the Koreans Luuuuuuuuv Zombies and do incredible stuff with them. If you're not aware of them, check out "All of Us are Dead" which traps a group of high schoolers in their school when a zombie virus breaks out. Gory as hell but great writing and characters. It's one of the rare series that has an S2 coming later this year or early next. "Kingdom" is unique in that it takes the zombie apocalypse and puts it in the Joseon period. It got two seasons plus a prequel, "Ashen of the North" which reveals the origin of the zombie plague threatening to wipe out medieval Korea. These are "Wait! Just One More Episode Please!" viewing.

Hot Girls of Kpop KISS OF LIFE released STICKY mv, the refreshing Song Of The Summer.
They're bringing sexy back to Kpop like EXID, AOA, 4MINUTE, GIRL'S DAY and SISTAR did.
They're famous for vocals with Seattle born Belle, 20, sounding like a Korean Ariana Grande.
Dancers Julie and Natty ('Jultty') are 2 of the sexiest Kpop idols these days.
Even if you won't be uploading it very soon you should film the reaction ASAP giving yourself a great song for the summer, especially considering your move to a state known for summer vacations.
After watching their STICKY mv, I highly recommend watching the Studio Choom video (a dance performance with close-ups) and the M2 relay dance to see more of the hot choreography. Anyone on heart medication or an asthma rescue inhaler might want it nearby while watching, just a thought.
KISS OF LIFE (aka KIOF) has gotten much praise for their live vocals and especially for their series of much talked about award show performances in December and January starting with the MMAs, even more impressive considering their limited prep time.
Thai all-rounder Natty, 22, competed on Sixteen to be in TWICE but was only 14 back then. Also competed on Idol School to be in FROMIS_9 but eliminated despite vocal coach singling her out for praise. Great dancer and probably my 2nd favorite Thai idol after Lisa.
Hawaiian born Leader / main rapper Julie, 24, trained at YG / THEBLACKLABEL. My bias.
Haneul, 19 maknae, the only Korean born member is the only one not fluent in English.
Belle was previously a songwriter for Kpop artists, including 2nd verse of Lesserafim's Unforgiven. Her father was a famous Korean singer in the 90s Shim Shin.
KIOF just celebrated their 1st anniversary and have already released 16 songs, only 1 of which I didn't care for (Haneul's solo on their debut, but Coach might like the Take Me Out to the Ball Game melody used by its American writer/ producer). Like their name is meant to imply, fans agree they are breathing fresh life into Kpop.
3rd release single MIDAS TOUCH mv (early 90s vibes like Britney but with great vocals). The b-side NOTHING (a great English R&B ballad breakup song) has a Media Showcase performance video on their yt channel.
2nd release mini album has 2 connected music videos, watch BAD NEWS and NOBODY KNOWS back to back in that order. 1st music video in story seems to show these 4 violent girls, but 2nd video provides context to what really happened. There are 4 more b-sides.
Their impressive Debut last July was an ambitious project of 6 music videos completing a storyline. Watch the 2 main mvs together. You can watch the solos before or after.
BYE MY NEVERLAND ends on an interesting note and SHHH 쉿 picks up right where the story left off and shows these 4 characters coming together as a group. This mv ends with slightly shortened performance video at the end of story.
These 2 mvs were preceded by 4 members' solo mvs that introduced the members with backstories for the characters:
SUGARCOAT (Natty solo, a much talked about R&B song last year, choreographed by her)
COUNTDOWN (Belle solo, written by her)
KITTY CAT (Julie solo, edgy mv for Kpop, close-up dance performance video was um yeah)
PLAY LOVE GAMES (Haneul solo, IMO too much maknae energy for 18yo idol)
It makes more sense if you watch these 4 solo mvs first before BYE MY NEVERLAND and SHHH 쉿 but I didn't because I made mistake of waiting for official debut and watched the 2 group videos first.
One year after debut, KISS OF LIFE the awards winning monster rookie girl group of 2023 is making waves in the Kpop world (and making a splash with STICKY and other songs at Korea's supersoaker Waterbomb festival concerts). Their previous release MIDAS TOUCH got them top 25 on K charts (Instiz combined streaming services data) and could be heard all over Korea according to tourists. STICKY also made Instiz top 25.
