What makes you say they know who he is and that they are cooking especially for him? The meat is pre-marinated. The only thing they do is chuck it on the grill. It's the same as everybodyelse's.

Smokey’s is on Netherhall Road in Doncaster, in the last 10 years the road has become a Mecca for top class independent restaurants and takeaways. The only problem, as Danny found, is parking. Smokey’s is amazing as is the new Greek restaurant that has opened just down the road
I think he should send a runner into the venue, Danny should be out of site, then walk over and put his table up after the runner has come back out with his food. True review then. Unlike the favourable portions and freebies now. Still love you Danny
I get what you’re saying. If a place know they are going to be getting reviewed live then I reckon they’d take a bit more care of that order than any other. I’m a great believer in blind tasting stuff and that goes for a well known name coming for a meal too. Special treatment will be guaranteed I reckon.
Cant remember the last time I had a mixed grill. Nice and clean with lots of variety and nice staff. Wonder did he recognise you Danny. Looked lovely i hope it was a treat for the taste buds. Xx
Hey Danny! That chicken breast is not "butterfly". To butterfly a chicken breast is to slice halfway through the thickness and then open it out to a piece twice the size and half the thickness. Just thought you might like to know so you can tell your patrons accurately. A retired Chef of 50+ years.

Yea i've been to a few of the places he's been to and the portion size at most has been smaller and service not as good but some have been as you see them on the videos . It's in the best interest of the take aways now to raise the level as most of them will be busy since his visits.
Agree. They know at least a little bit in advance that Danny is coming in because the camera is already in the store filming Danny when he walks in. Danny isn't pretending to be a secret food critic but I don't know how I feel about him accepting free food. He should at least acknowledge at the end he was given free food. People should go there and tell them they want the free salad and fries like Danny got!

Anyone doubting the quality of the food, thinking it might be a show Danny is putting on (which he isn't - it's an honest review), just use your eyes and look at the food. The way the meat comes off the bone, the colour of the meat and consistency of sauces, and you can see its good stuff. I mean, did you see how easily bitten off that lamb chop was?! Danny's 10's are in my opinion nothing short of his honest opinion. I would happily visit these 10/10 rating takeaways and definitely Smokies! Bosh!

They’d still be working with the quality of ingredients provided to him/her by the manager. If they suck, the food would still suck.

I get you but as he gets well known he probably has no choice but to warn them first or you'll get some who demand the video is removed or even worse.
