- Everyone is familiar with one of the most iconic images in sports history: Jordan cradling the Larry O'Brien trophy for the first time as tears came streaming down his eyes. Well this is what happened after from a Chicago standpoint.
For those of you not in the know, the man you see interviewing the Bulls is Johnny "Red" Kerr (RIP) and he was one of the pioneers of the NBA when the league was first formed. Kerr keeps mentioning 25 years for the franchise, the Bulls franchise had been celebrating their 25 year anniversary in the 1990-1991 season, Kerr was the teams first ever coach. For decades he was the color commentary man for every Bulls game from 1975-2008. Chicago misses you Red

I miss hearing him and Tom dore call games. Edited my typo
Great man
Your father was an inspiration to all of us, not just basketball lovers! Anybody with such a clear, obvious passion like your dad's for the game of basketball is someone that we can all draw an example from. An integral part of so many peoples' childhoods...rest in peace!!
Your dad was awesome! I remember watching him on WGN and WCIU games with Wayne Larrivee. Good times, RIP.
You’re sad was my favorite and a big part of my childhood….
Johnny “Red” Kerr was (and still is) one of the best voices of Chicago sports (next to Harry Caray, of course)!
Harry Carey was a racist.
217champion shutup pussy
Agreed. Adam Amin will be as well someday.
Johnny Red Kerr rules, reminds me of growing up in central Illinois and watching Bulls on WGN and Sports Channel or whatever it was called
After MJ did "the move" my uncle screamed... I became a fan at 5 years old... The Bulls won championships all thru grade school
Bill Cartwright sounds like a) Cookie Monster b) Louis Armstrong C) Kermit the Frog ... you be the judge 🤣🤣 1:54
That was Magic Johnsons last ever NBA finals. What a way to end a careeer.
He still had a remarkable career
Who’s here during the last dance .?.?
Your dads voice was in my Brain and heart combined with the image of MJ . I can say it still is . And I can say it’s there for every MJ and bulls fan forever. That’s special.
Remember running back and forth out side and watching the bulls in the NBA finals in 1991 I was 13yrs old
Thanks for uploading l am loving this!!!!
This upload is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always wanted to see more rare stuff about the first 3peat team, not only the games and seeing this is just amazing!
I saw many uploads about interviews right after the 1st championships, but NEVER this one. Your 1st upload also was a rare one and this is very unique!
This is the BEST EVER upload I've ever seen!
Millions of thank you for this one!
Sportschannel... damn that's old school.
THIS IS AWESOME THANKS FOR SHARING
This bring back memories. I remember watching game 4 at the park with large small screen portable. My uncle is a Laker fan and he couldnt stand that the Bulls won the game.
MJ was so happy to get his first NBA championship. He was enjoying himself with his family.
@thecathedral22 cared, the game wasn't popular in my school (only girls).
But somehow a few months later someone record something over it, so I didn't have it anymore for years. I just started to collect all of the games from the Jordan era almost 2 years ago, so I have a lot, but seeing these rare things that I miss, because the game is over but so many things happen after that that I am very interested in...
\that's why I REALLY LOVE your uploads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm looking forward for the rest!
the man was forever made on this day
@RAV52 during the airport rally, there was something that Phil said, he said "we would like to thank the detroit pistons and their fans for making this possible" lol priceless
@thecathedral22 thank you very much i would have had the title celebration from 92 but my VCR (man i feel old)was stolen sometime back in the spring of 92 so i couldnt record those games, Ihave some from 93 that i will be uploading soon.
Hey I don't really understand all the hate of Jerry Krause-yes, he did play a role in the breakup of my BULLS in 1998 wanting to rebuild, but you have to remember that he swung one of the greatest trades in NBA history on draft day when we stole scottie pippen from the seattle sonics for .... Olden Polynice, yes, Olden Polynice. He also picked up Horace Grant, who was a critical component to our run in the 90's. Stealing Pippen speaks for itself, and we wouldn't have had nearly the amount of success we had if it weren't for Pippen and that trade. That 1987 draft made the Bulls a whole.
Yeah I agree on the outside he seemed like a great guy... My thought is that conversations that happened behind closed doors were the reasons players lost trust and had ill feelings towards him.
We’ll know more when the much anticipated 30 for 30 special series on this dynasty comes out late 2019/2020. I can’t wait!
There were talks to get Moses Malone to chicago by the end of the 87-88 season. They needed a center to contend in the east if Moses was on the bulls oakley in the PF Scottie Pippen as the SF horace as Oakleys backup all ya needed was phil and they could win a title.
adam83540 nobody likes a successful man who has an Idi Amin figure and background.
Chicago bulls dream sports long nightmare has ended, and the drought is over 25 yrs
the only 1 that equal this 1 was the 6th at 6 I predicted that bulls would win (in my home state of california) I really enjoyed this 1.
Love!! Love!! Love!! Da' BULLZ!!!& NBA FINALZ_N'_JUNE!!!
I was a diehard Bulls fan but was NOT a fan of the Jerrys! I can recall a story in SLAM magazine where Scoop Jackson said Jordan was sitting in the drivers seat and Jerry Krause walked in front and Jordan turns to Scottie and says: "Hey Pip for $5 I'll put my foot on the gas." LoL! The only thing that stopped the Bulls' Dynasty were the Jerrys!
Everytime Jerry Krause talks I throw up in my mouth a little. LoL
Jerry Krause was drunk 11/10
As a laker fan this one still hurts.
@sopa71479
My first game ever that I watched was the 92 Finals G6, because in my country we didn't have the luxury to have American channels on the TV, I had that game from the Screensport. I managed to record it, it was early morning and I had to go to sleep because I had to go to school in the morning. Around at 6;30 am, before I left I quietly went to my parents room (that had the TV) and I could see the celebration after the game. I went to school smiling at everyone like a fool, noone else
R.I.P. JERRY KRAUSE!
Fuck him, he destroyed Chicago Dynasty
Young_Mature_Jordan!!!
what pisses me off about Jerry Reinsdorf, is he still has the final say so on the Bulls but by his own admission, he doesnt devote enough of his time or attention to them as he does for the White Sox. Michael his son, is the one that wants the team, I say give it to him
i remember mj wore that suit the whole finals. apparently before the days he started dropping $25,000 on the custom ones
Was that kid n play behind mj
I wonder what book Phil was reading on the plane. Anybody?
@GreatkingAlexander jordan was almost borderline obsessed with winning
@sopa71479 i understand that but i was saying that his drive was like no other before or after and once agin 6 into the sunset forever
what do you mean by that he did.nt become greedy he became hungry and did.nt lay off just because he had won that he had that drive that nobody could match and lead his team to 5 more and was the ultimate leader on his team his drive made every body on those teams drive harder and once agin the bulls had the one and only the man on there team 6 and into the sunset forever
ha!!!!!.. bet ya'll didnt know that MJ was cool with Kid n' Play back in the 90's........ their in shot with mike during intrvw. corny hip hop, but some cool cats with a classic movie
Jerry Krause happy for everybody but the Bulls team, what about them they the ones who pulled it off!! I know he picked some good players but they had to play against some great teams!!
bout like my ex wife, happy for everyone's success except the guy that took care of her for the last 20 yrs (me0 no wonder the bulls are her fav team ;l
Hold This L. Debarge sounds about life
you're welcome
Lmao Paxson w hair
The guy from Germany is lying haha I was born and raised in Germany myself and they didn't show Bulls games until 1993 and then it was just the NBA Finals vs the Suns. US TV you couldn't get get.
@falkner23 anytime dude i have some i have keep working on
@GreatkingAlexander calm down i was just saying it in jest, MJ is without a doubt the GOAT
I hate Jerry krause...
@Trinimanfreddy sorry but that's all i had
R.I.P Jerry Krause aka "Big Man"
@GreatkingAlexander yea then he became greedy and decided to win 5 more. lol
