I remember reading this fic because of a fic rec post, right before people starting posting a bunch of stuff about it I love how practically the entire fandom has now read it and is collectively in pain? 😂 Every fandom has that one fic that everyone knows (ex. Auf Wiedersehen, Sweetheart for Hetalia) and In Another Life is slowly but surely becoming that fic for the Haikyuu fandom
Seriously though. Also on Ao3 theres an iwaoi fanfic called The Loyalty of A traitor thats great. It may also become one of those haikyuu fanfics. But honestly im finding all the fandom fanfics that are popular and im just like 👁💧👄💧👁 why are they all so sad.

This hits close to home bc when bokuto died it reminds me so much of my grandmother that died of cancer. Especially the scene where akaashi was with bokuto and they were like cuddling. Then the next day bokuto was dead. That scene reminds me so much of her because the day before she died I was with her. I would only visit her just like akaashi did with bokuto because as I said she had cancer. My parents didnt want me to live with them because they didnt want me to see her like that so I only visited her. So right before I left I gave her a hug as if it was the last day I would see her and said goodbye, the next day at like 5AM she was dead. When I was reading in another life I could really understand what happened and how akaashi felt.

even though I knew bokuto would die there's still something about this AU that is so heatbreaking. it's not the death itself, it's the pain and suffering bokuto went through. how we got to see him get weaker and weaker until he couldn't even speak, but still no sleep. this AU is truly a masterpiece. i'm gonna go cry now, bye

You know when akaashi is tossing to bokuto in the gym and bokuto has a hallucination saying "they arent really there are they". I just realised that he probably saw kuroo, kenma and the rest of nekoma or some opposing team but I like to think the prior bcs he missed them due to them not seeing each other much anymore. Yw for the heartache :)

I just realised that he probably saw kuroo, kenma and the rest of nekoma or some opposing team but I like to think the prior bcs he missed them due to them not seeing each other much anymore.
