My wife's extended family is in and around Halifax, PA, so we used to drive through Harrisburg on our way to and back from the DC area. Front Street was a well travelled, lovely drive, but the parallel 2nd street was, like in your video, always a mess. (these days, we come up us15, the take PA581 west to I81, the go west on US22, so bypassing downtown Hburg altogether.)
drove past the really nice Whitaker Center Science Museum, and the very interesting Harrisburg University of Science and Tech, which is all in one high-rise building. We toured it with my daughter a few years ago and were very impressed. (but the housing wasn't very good and no dining hall at all.)
Wish we saw Cameron St. We see the Capital/uptown and midtown of Harrisburg in the video. Cameron st. is an industrial road/connection for major highways that seriously divides residential and car traffic in the city. The capital district is either populated by through traffic or commuters, where as east of Cameron is mainly residential traffic, (poor) public transit, or walking paths/sidewalks. All in all, all major roads in the city all quite literally lead of of Harrisburg.
I watch most of the videos and it’s really relaxing and it makes me want to travel and be on the road.
Congrats on 20K Subscribers Mike!
Thanks!!
Nice shot of the state capitol.wow!!.was hoping you,d cross that bridge!!!..lol.

Interesting that it's faster to go that way than 83 through Harrisburg. I'm guessing the southern part of the beltway is usually busy?
@@MileageMikeTravels pretty much, yes. pa581 the other way to I83 is pretty much always terrible. full of those merge-or-die exits and local traffic.
love the historic buildings

Great 👍
Todo muy bonito. Bendiciones
beautiful building s
Thanks, Mike . you sure get around . Too many multi family houses. This town must be overpopulated and traffic must be horrendous.
Nice
Downtown Harrisburg reminds me of New York
I Use to Live There
Yo vivi hay como dos años y tengo tantos recuerdos lindos de mi niñez que yo no me muero sin antes visitarlo
Lol, did you hear that student driver peel out of that parking spot? 😂😂😂
It doesn't really look like a small city
Red lights are only suggestions. 😂😂
