  • Taylormade P760 On Course Review -The Taylormade p700 range of irons has been a massive golfing success in 2017 and 2018, so what will Taylormades next offering for 2019 bring to the table? Introducing the Taylormade P760 irons, packed with speed foam in longer irons they are sure to cause a stir. They are designed to replace the P750 and P770 irons. What do they look like? how do they feel? I put the full range to the test on the golf course. Rory Mcilroy and Jason Day have been testing these irons already which shows that they are designed for better players (low to mid handicap golfers).

I started with TaylorMade woods and Mizuno irons, but last summer and into this one, Ping has taken over my bag. I’ve got Ping G400 Max driver, Ping G400 3&4 hybrid, Ping i500 irons, and I’ll be testing the new Ping putters as soon as I can. I’m just glad that as consumers, all of the manufacturers have stepped their game up, and we have CHOICES!! No matter what manufacturer you choose, you’ll be getting your hands on some good equipment. Keep up the great videos!!!!!

I played Taylormade for years, then played Mizuno's for 3 or so years and are now back to Taylormade P790's and I love them, have M2 in fairway wood and hybrids, putter. My driver is a Calloway epic and wedges are Titlelist SM6's.

    Currently gaming AP3.
My favorite all time irons are my Mizuno MP-32s. I’ve kept them in the garage for years now as I can’t bear to part with them.
I played them again for a couple of weeks about a year ago while I waited for my AP3s to arrive. I fell in love with them all over again and it made transition harder! They are so short by modern standards though that there is no way I would game them again long term. Even a 718 Titleist MB is longer! I intend to keep them forever, regardless, and break them out for fun once in a while and for the inevitable next transition when I buy irons again!

Fantastic bid James. Jack Nicklaus, Powerbilt and now Ping in the bag for the last 8 years of 44 years playing golf. I am in my mid fifties, play off hcp of 7 and getting ready for a ping and Mizuno fitting. Living in country NSW Australia there is not easy access to demo clubs, especially when you are 3 degree upright. Looking forward to being fitted for ping i500/i25 and Mizuno 919 in 4 weeks, will let you know the outcome. Keep up the great interactive on course reviews.
    Cheers

Good review James. Agree about the price. I feel when PXG came out with their expensive irons, the rest had a free hand to raise their prices. I remember in 1995, the Great Big Bertha ( I think it was the first 350 cc) was £499.00 in a pro shop in Norfolk. Then the internet changed things and prices came down in the UK until the gap wedges, then you didn't get a full set. Now you just get 4 iron - p wedge ..7 irons when you used to get 3-s wedge...9 irons. They are very clever squeezing the money out of club golfers.
Would I use them ? Es, but I'm off 11, 60 years old. Couldn't justify the price I'm afraid. And it's a killer for someone who buys a new set, only for new ones out every 6 months.
    Great review though, cheers James

Good content James.. I continue to look forward to your video's! Currently gaming custom P770's and very happy with them, but I didn't pay retail for them, the P760's look and seem nice, but at retail they are too much for me to change out. I'd most likely go with some 919 Tour's if I was thinking of moving away from the P770's.

Wilson V6 forged.....never considered Wilson irons and almost bought the MP 18’s and then saw the reviews on UA-cam and tried them... and they are on par (maybe even better ) feeling wise with the Mizuno’s.....and a lot cheaper.👍🏽
and no not one brand in the bag: Epic driver Sub Zero (but after your review and trying it myself considering the Titleist TS3 now) , Ping G400 wood 3, Taylormade UDI2 , Wilson V4 3 iron, 4-PW Wilson V6 irons, mizuno T9 52 wedge, callaway PM grind 58 wedge, edel putter😎👍🏽

I just got fit for these today! I never thought I would say this but this is the first club I hit that felt 100% better than a mizuno to me. The feel was so soft (which I love) I also hit the 919 forged and tour and hot metal and neither of those felt anywhere near as good as this club, at least for me. So happy with the direction taylormade is going! (Previously played mizuno for the last 5 years)

Great video James, Best irons P790 which I now currently play, just trying out an M3 440 can't tell as yet as I have a back injury when you hit one though they go a long way for me, not as forgiving as my Ping G400 so far, I will be honest I have never been a huge T.M fan until I tried the P790s they have turned my game around back down to single figures again after 30 years. Who knows T.M wedges next? It will be hard to move my Cleveland wedges out. I think the prices of equipment in general have gone crazy but £1300 is mental for 7 irons.

Had a fitting yesterday...tried the Mizuno mp18sc, 919 forged, Srixon 785, Ping 212, Titleist ap3, Callaway apex pro, Miura cb1008 and TM 760....ang guess what the TM 760 came on top by a big margin in terms of feel, dispersion and ball speed. I m not a fan of the look , price but can not deny this results (currently playing a mIzuno mp54)

I think Srixon/Cleveland are a big surprise for 2018 and 2019. The Z785 irons are money, the driver is great (I currently own one) and I hear the RTX 4's are much better than the RTX 3. Brands like Srixon and Cobra are SUPER under valued and appreciated.

Re: brands in your bag - Callaway woods (especially fairways), Titleist hybrids because they can be adjusted flat to take out the left miss, Taylormade irons always seem to work for me, and Mack daddy wedges. A bit of a mixed lot but they work. I'm going to test the apex irons soon so maybe Callaway can claim the lions share?

Great review, I would say price wise this is like the iPhone effect. Let’s just put tech we have had for a years in it and spend very little time to make them, then just release them for a bunch more money. Don’t get me wrong I love the irons and if I had the money I’m sure I would buy them. But not everyone is that lucky in life.

I'll stick to my P790s. If I had this kind of money, I'd spend it on the Mizunos.

My entire bag is Taylormade. That is only due to my undying love for Adidas. Now they are no longer involved with TM at least the clubs are quality

nice but pricey! No domination in my bag nike driver; titleist TMB 2 & 3; Nike forged combo irons (love theses - best of both worlds like the 760's. Mack daddy wedges. Odessey putter.

Sam on mums account. Ping will always be my irons just cos that’s what everyone in th fam has and I take hand me downs. Bit anything that comes in seems to be titleist. Wedges, balls and woods

Would like a set, but never at that price. I’ll stick to Titleist they only come out every two years and in my opinion just as good.

I'll put my MP H5 Mizuno 4 iron against this TaylorMade 4 iron any day of the week.
