The amount of removal that the Pantlaza got and it still got cast over and over again was absurd this game
Gauntlet of Power on green was VERY strong for him.
I honestly think Pantlaza was a mistake. I don’t know how you make it less busted - maybe make the discover trigger off of the mana value instead of toughness - but I think it is rebuilds way too quickly off of boardwipes which are the most effective ways for most decks to deal with an army of huge dinos.
Pantlaza can rebuild the field so fast that I'm wondering what would happen if he wasn't removed so much. Very interesting commander.
It was wild to see in person. Felt like every time we started getting things under control, he'd just pop off and get three bodies on board out of nowhere.
Yeah even amongst my group Pantlaza has become a 'Kill on Sight' commander because it can rebuild so easily.
So casting Ephemerate off of discover means that you cannot rebound it, since it's not cast from hand. Felix chose not to anyway, so it doesnt change anything but just a note: if you wanna rebound ephemerate, let it go to your hand before you cast it (I made this mistake many times lol)
Good catch!
It looks like there was maybe a misplay on the ghalta mavren, It's a little hard to tell from the camera, but ghalta and mavren should only count OTHER creatures, so putting the xenagos effect on it does not give you a huge creature. Very easy thing to miss though!
Yep you are right that's a misplay on my part ! Thanks for telling !!
the quote "Backing up on Sauron" at 6:45 is an amazing out of context moment of this game
As a fellow Pants-lazer Sun-Flavored player, it warmed my heart seeing everybody try to stop it and it still went off and won the game.
2:25 into the game and WOW. Felix's top-decks were unbelievable! His opening hand was BAD and he just top decked -- 1 good T1 tap land to ramp later, T2 ramp spell he desperately needed, T3, another ramp creature to support his hand that really needed it.
AND THEN A SOL RING NEXT TURN?!
Now, no doubt that Pantlaza is powerful, but in this game it was particularly explosive because Felix got a lot of indirect help from Marie, with Gauntlet of Power giving his forests double mana his green dinosaurs a toughness boost.
I'm surprised Max didn't Chaos Warp the Rest in Peace that completely shuts down his reanimator deck... especially a Grixis deck, which struggles when it comes to removing enchantments.
Marie mentionned at that time that she would kill both of us. So max remove nissa instead.
Marie had been threating to ult with Nissa the following turn which spooked him.
rest in peace did so much work
Dinos got that juice after Lost Caverns, absolutely love to see it
Felix couldn't rebound Ephemerate at all, because he didn't cast it from hand to begin with.
Yes but also, you can only discover once per turn.
@@richardhenriques4854 When Pantlaza is blinked, it returns as a new object and doesn't "remember" the previous discovery, so it can discover again.
Marie is shut down hard by Rest in Peace, yet when she casts Nissa, she chooses to tick up instead of removing the RIP? But why though!?
If I recall what Gavin said while.playing the war doctor in shuffle up and play each card that is exiled counts as a distinct instance therefore adding a counter. I could be wrong though.
Uhhh you should have been putting time counters on the doc for every card exiled by pantzlaza
The card revealed by chaos warp was mistakenly put in Marie's hand if i saw that correct.
You might think we sound like a broken record, but guys.

Thanks to Magic, I can finally see my dream of Doctor Who battling against Sauron, battling against Dinosaurs. Truly a time to be alive.
i clicked on the video knowing that the pantlaza was going to win. a man can hope though
Was Felix getting the benefit from the gauntlet of power as well? Couldn’t tell since he had so much mana anyway 😂.
he was. probably another reason as to why he was able to go off so much
I could be wrong but I’m fairly certain the war doctor counts each card that’s put into exile, not each instance of cards going into it. So when Maxime exiles the top five cards due to rest in peace the war doctor should have gained five counters. It’s at least now it works with cascade, but it could be different here.
Now I could be wrong, but based on my reading of it, the issue is because the War Doctor is weird in that he has the "One or more clause" put onto him. So in the case of a boardwipe, since they'd all be going in at the same time, he'd see it as one.
Cascade and to an extent Chaos Wand / Wand of Wonder are different. Because you cascade and reveal one card at a time, he counts each card put to exile individually.
@@MTGMuddstahthat makes sense. I didn’t know if it would be different with cascade and rest in peace so I just wanted to say something.
Didn’t know you can choose to got discover of is pantlasa
Los dinosaurios se salieron de control amigos míos
Am I crazy or is he using the Discover ability from Pantlaza more than once per turn? It states on per turn on card.
pantlaza discovers only triggers once per turn lmao
I may be misunderstanding but ibwas under the impression that Pantlaza only trigger once a turn. There were several turns it appeared to trigger twice. What did i miss?
Other creatures also have discover, and if you blink Pantlaza, it's ability can happen again.
That game was rough. Yikes. But a good game nonetheless! Huzzah
Why save her?
Ghalta and Maverin can't make a token using their own power/toughness because the ability says "other attacking"
Dinos go brrr
Feels like everytime FELIX casts his commander he only pays 5
Marie unwillingly helped him with this, with Gauntlet of Power doubling the mana output of his forests as well.
The War Doctor and Clara seem like an excellent pair
no early sol rings this game, good to see a fair game!
Turns out most of the new commanders from the latest precons are extremely pushed power wise. Such is power creep.
Wouldn't you miss the first pantlaza trigger since a dino already came into play. Its a hard once per turn
It's a "may" trigger, so the player can choose not to discover so they can do it when a bigger dinosaur ETBs.
There's a huge difference between "do this only once each turn" and "this ability triggers only once each turn".
First
turn 4, pantaloons triggered causing the 6/6 to come into play, it shouldnt have triggered again off of that, unless i missed something
The card cast from Pantyraid's trigger also has discover. That's what caused the second trigger.
The new dino had a discover ETB of its own.
So, realized i didnt have sound on and didnt realize he neglected the discover off pantaloon.@@nicholasfarrell5981
Trumpeting Carnosaur discovers 5 on ETB
Looking forward to when the Pantlaza hype dies down. This guy is everywhere online and at my LGS. Already sick of it 😂
Titania deck needs to ramp harder and faster
