- In this video I show how to install an automatic cat feeder which is protected from those annoying raccoons. This was relatively easy to install. Hopefully this video will help you do it youself.

It's an autofeeder. How does this keep racoons out? If it's set for daytime, anyone can just feed during daytime to avoid racoons. Also, how do you wash that bowl now that it's nailed? I'm going through same thing. I was feeding feral kittens at night only to attract racoons. All I did is feed during daytime, racoons are nocturnal. Cool contraption though.
I only use this feeder when we are on vacation and can't feed the cats. I trigger it to feed at 9am and 5pm when the raccoons aren't active. When we return home, I just feed them myself.

Put a second bowl inside the one that's nailed down - the second bowl can be removed and cleaned.
@@Roderick_Legato One of the problems I am have encountered is that the raccoons in NY like to take the bowls with them when they leave.(Perhaps they think the bowl magically fills up the food???)
@@Glaucidium810 Wow! That's crazy! Bowl = food, makes perfect sense lol!
Maybe the second bowl could be tethered with steel cable, and hope they can't chew through it. Either way, I'd love to have video of them trying :-)
