"Fools have asked 'Why did the Dark Age of Technology end in the fall of humanity?', and other fools answer back 'Folly' or 'Pride' or 'The Worship of Progress', as if these things alone had any meaning. The answer, as the wise know, is simple. It is because finally humanity had the arts at their disposal to make their dreams reality, and the dreams of humanity have ever been the darkest things in all creation."

Papa Nurgle ...*horrified slow clapping intensifies*
You may be a filthy daemon, but you have a point...
*loads hellgun and flamer*
Don't really see it in age of strife.
That's... both incredibly poetic and incredibly troubling at the same time.
The intensity of your hatred toward the Eldar remains admirable. Ave Imperator.
Charles Urban It is very relatable for I too hate the knife-eared fucks with a passion burning so white-hot that its light eclipses the radiance of Sol when their wretched kind is mentioned
@@speestechsupport1341 why tho
frank asisi Their unbearable pride, their holier-than-thou attitude, birthing FUCKING Slaanesh, killing humans that unknowingly settle Crone/Maiden worlds that are not in-use, talking in riddles when explaining *important* information, overall race wide duchebagerry, also casual genocides preformed by Biel-Tan...why indeed?
oh yes we know you are anti semites ^^
metacritical You had to bring out the A word, you madlad
"Doc, you have a minute?" "What's up?" "Well, you remember that intern we had in the lab some nine months ago?" "The huge and handsome one with the aura of leadership who excelled in genetic engineering?" "Yeah that's him...since he left there is a mysterious spike in kids getting born with a third eye..."
Yup, and then at the dawn of The Age of Strife, all Navigators receive a message, "Father says come home."
Most of them die in the attempt, but enough make it to Sol for Him to set them up in hiding, to wait out The Age of Strife.
I see nothing but the weakest of coincidence, just blatant racism against immortal glowing giant genius men
You're right it can't just be coincidence but it could also have been hundreds of years of exposure to warp energies that could have been the catalyst for the mutation. For the record you can travel through the warp without them but only in smaller jumps, as long as the gellar field is intact this is how most smaller ships travel actually as navigators are in high demand. I'm sure the emperor was an excellent navigator himself and could probably get anywhere in the galaxy in record time seeing how he can see everything inside the warp. I would bet money that the Imperitor Somnium was the fastest warp ship of all time. Even if it had its own navigator the Emperor's presence would have aided him in the journey, but we know he usually piloted his own ships telepathically. You need navigators to go really really fast and far, let's just say that much. But the jump method is still much much faster than conventional travel.
@@DeathBYDesign666 Back then the warp was more calm than in M41 so I assume smaller jumps would not have been such a risk back then. And I wanna see the demon stupid enough to hijack the emperor's vessel. That ship must have passed trough the warp like a huge burning "Dont even think about it" sign.
@@phreakazoith2237 Another reason why it's the fastest, the emperor could have just skipped through like a log on a river. He could probably increase the flow of this river as well. He probably had his own webway tunnels for much of that time and he was the only one that could use it, it could have been practically instantaneous.
Honestly, just the way you speak here is so fascinating. You perfectly walk this line between highfalutin snootiness and extremely alien and strange cultural quirks, the extreme distaste for alien life, the way you openly describe certain actions as "idiotic," the way you can sense your emotion seeping through rather than maintaining objectivity, even the way you pronounce "solar," is all just different enough that you can never quite find footing. It feels so, so true to the setting and its an incredible feat.

This guy is a high level player for sure, there is a certain arrogance in the way he talks about certain topics. There are many channels that are purely lore collectors and don't necessarily collect game pieces and they are done with also very good style but you can sense the passion a little more here. I'm not a player either but I can see it too.
Know then, that my day is improved with a new Oculus video
This guy gets it.
The entire history of humanity can be described as such:
"The Eldar fucked it all up...literally"
I've always wanted a story where a colony ship from the golden age got trapped in a time distortion while on the warp and got spat out in the 41st millennium.
I think mass suicide will happen ..
I think the Spirit of Eternity was a ship that sort of did that.
The SoE was an exploratory ship from the Dark Age of Technology, piloted by a human crew and an AI which got lost in the Warp for over 20,000 years, the crew discovered the horrors of Chaos and, when they emerged from the Warp, they headed to the nearest spaceport to warn other humans. When they arrived, the human captain was arrested, tortured, and his crew killed due to heresy. The ship and AI fled into Space, eventually getting stuck in a space hulk, until the Ad Mech and some Astartes found it.
The ship and AI was pissed at how far humanity has slid into barbarism, at how the captain, who the AI considered a friend, and crew were callously killed. It used it technology to lock the Astartes in place, hacked the Ad Mech servitors and was able to free the already dislodged ship. It told the boarding team that it was finished working with humanity, which it said was once a respectable and advanced species, and planned to flee to another Galaxy, and did.
@@dr.strangelove9815 Yeah, but in "Death of Integrity" it is featured literally on few last pages.
And then we discover that Golden Men were actually people painted in gold paint! A literal twist ;)
Sadly they'd be gobbled up by the mechanicus and inquisitors and never be seen again
(Mechanicus to interrogate for tech, inquisition for probably being warp tainted and/or messing with the imperium (you know they wouldnt all them to live))
Love the disgusts in your voice for the Xenos. Ave Imperator
Ave Dominus Nox
21:55 You can almost hear the bloodcurdling hatred and utter disgust the Remembrancer holds towards the Eldar.
This is your best work to date. The history of what becomes The Imperium is fantastic.
Thank you so much! It was an incredibly fun script to write and lean in to :) Glad I didn't overdo it!
I wonder if the birth of Slaanesh was more than just the birth of a fourth chaos god... Like it seems like the existence of the prior three was relatively tame... Planning and change, war and destruction, life and death... All are part of the natural existence...and then excess and pleasure entered into the equation. I think the aspects of each god affect the others too... and the birth of Slaanesh introduced excess into all of them. In moderation, all things were perfectly fine and normal for the galaxy, but suddenly there were excess plans tangling up into messes that benefit no one, excess change disrupting systems meant to manage those changes, excess war and destruction sweeping across the galaxy, and excess life being born only to die early at the hands of even more life being born in an endless escalation... all fueled by the other gods suddenly gaining that corruption of finding enjoyment in the excesses of their aspects. Without that fourth god, they would be relatively benevolent and tame like the original Eldar gods... but with such an unbalanced aspect being introduced to the immaterium as a whole, it set everything spiraling out of control in a way that may never recover without the death of all life in the galaxy to reset the board.
thats right, slaanesh spurned the others into action
Dem Chaos God's was gud boys, dey din dun muffin wrong, it was all Slannesh
@Lord Admiral Spire well we have Ynnead, and yet that hasn't happened yet so... *shrug* i think the galaxy is FUBAR and the introduction of another into the mix will only make it FUBAR more. It's like adding a piece of rancid meat into a stew and letting it soak in that flavour. no matter what you do, you're not gonna make it better while leaving that rancid meat in and adding more stuff to the stew.
So what you're saying is the knife-eared abominations are even worse than I imagined?
The entire age of strife is basically the Eldar's fault

I appreciate you not overly using voice filters in your narration. Subtle gothic music in the background does the trip.
I love the use of Artistic representation of ships, Titans, and the men in orange who seem to wear Carapace armour, and could be explained lore wise as "Last surviving images" explaining the scratched and seemingly damaged pictures, just shows how lost that time truly was and is, and that the present 40k is completely set apart from that time. Excellent work!

You have gained a subscriber sir! As a film maker working in the industry I was very impressed with your script writing skills. Your vocal delivery is equally as professional. As an ex physicist (b4 I made the jump to the film industry) 1 of my favorite current hobbies is working out how different tech from 40k could work in our universe, from weapons, armour, ship tech and shields, to titan and knight interfacing and engineering. All the way to psychic technologies, communication, navigation and the warp. The amount of notes I have on this stuff is immense. Currently working on gauss tech and it's effects. As such I know how time consuming the research side is and just as much for the production side. As I said I was very impressed and will b watching ur back catalogue, well done! Amazing work!
Hey brother, this sounds fascinating. I've always wondered what somebody working in either of those industries would have thought of 40k, right now I'm writhing in discomfort from food poisoning but I'd be fascinated to see any of your notes you'd care to share.
No doubt you've heard of the announcement to adapt Eisenhorn into a tv series? :D

Ever thought of putting up a blog or something?
"The time when Humanity became a K2 Civilsation and the Imperium its shadow trying to maintain it's past achievement. Such achievement and wonder lost, lost by basic mistakes and learnt the hard way that the Imperium must endure while fighting on all fronts, both within and without against different but still just as dark threats. I do not despise their downfall nor anger on their actions, I pity them. The Greatest Flaw achieved was their ambition, though very rare to even find a single S.T.C to restore even a slither of that past glory is the hope of all Imperial worlds, but this time we can choose what we wish to protect ourselves and remove our mistakes for good. I was heartbroken when I first went to watch this and it said it wasn't available. I've been waiting all day for this.
Thirty minutes of Lorehammer! Ave!
Humanity was set up by things far older, and hidden from them, the Chaos Gods, the C'Tan (ie Void Dragon), the Cabal. In this future mankind has failed to learn the proper lessons, but to be fair, powers of the galaxy itself make that difficult.
You sir, have out done yourself here. a scholar delving deep into the past and near weeping with sadness for what was was lost, and hatred for those who caused it. SO GOOD!

This is incredibly interesting. I thoroughly enjoy the really, really early lore of 40K and your delivery of the story only makes it better. I especially like the venom you put into your voice when talking about the xenos, and the bits of emotion you sneak in here and there when talking about other things. Glad I found this channel.

If I, a lowly tech adept, can inquire: what sanctified chants of the blessed Adeptus Ministorum do you utilize as the backdrop of thyne files. I myself am well-versed in binary chants of the Mechanicum and not those of the Adeptus Ministorum.

The oldest surviving writings of mankind speak of things lost and forgotten. It is the inevitable that those who endure the predations of time will forget and live in the present, adrift.
I like the in-setting perspective. The difference between a chronicler and a historian is that you never strive to be an impartial, neutral observer of history.
Another great video. Its content creators like you guys that keeps us who love the story line of Warhammer 40k so enamored with the hopelessly dark and tragic setting. Thank you

Scholar,
You do your scholarly house proud. These audiologs you have been producing are filled with information of great import. However, should you feel the need to discuss such thing as the warp, I would strongly advise you to only record that which is sanctioned by the ordo heretics of the emperors inquisition. Other ideologies of the warp may prove fatal to some of the weaker minded in the imperium and should remain hidden from their view.

Beyond that keep up the amazing videos . They always make my day. Thanks again.
Given the emperor’s talent in genetics, I’m almost certain that he snuck the navigator gene into the population. He was the only human with an overt psychic connection to the Warp, so I would say that he would have been the only one even capable of conceiving the possibility of a psychic navigator. Humanity at that time would have only been looking to a technological navigation method, especially seeing as how the connection between psychic energy and the immaterium was not apparent when it was first in use. Its calmness would have precluded the establishment of any correlation in that regard.
I’m also willing to bet he has something to do with the existence of pariahs.
Sorry to burst both of your bubbles, but.. Psykers existed long before the Emperor. He was literally created when a group of really powerful psykers all offed themselves together, essentially doing the background story for the Highlander movies. But while the Emperor was conquering Terra? He came up against a ton of psykers. Navigators existed to some degree before, also. There were other space, and warp faring humans before the Great Crusade found them.
This is your best narration so far. And, as always, your content is exquisite. Edit: At the end of your video, your inflections, and the tone of your delivery made me want to scream to my screen with every fiber of my being : DEATH TO THE FALSE EMPEROR!!!

It is my own head canon that the Men of Iron turned against humanity when they discovered the nature of the Warp. Attempting not to only annihilate humanity but to remove the food sources of the deamons of the immaterium
I absolutely adore this style of delivery. Fantastic!
I've always liked the level of tech this age had and wished it remained or regained. I always like these kinds of advanced techs, so it'll be interesting to see the Imperium would be like if they retained these advanced level of tech and prosperity. If I create my own 40k story, I like to think they retain those. Outside of 40k, I'm thinking of creating a science-fantasy world with the level of tech here and they'll still be badass and cool.

Eldar and humans were on a similar paths. Lives of indulgence and excess due to hyper technology and a lack of drive. It speaks to humans opinion of themselves in fiction that we almost got there in much less time than it took the eldar. Given time, we could've ruined the warp and created a chaos god

Imagine if you will. One of the first expeditions makes planet fall and realizes it cannot make it back. So they adapt, they over come. And during the 12k years that it took the Imperium to produce warp travel, this far flung lost civilization develops their own FTL that does not require the use of warp travel.
