I own one of these. you guys went really harsh on this car. for me every time I put my foot on the gas pedal it brings a smile on my face. @@rook3364 you're not wrong but these cars used are a steal. I mean you can get a normal q50 for 18-25k with considerably low mileage. Plus they have tons of mods available for the engine and exterior
Your videos always put a smile on my face. My parents have been having really bad arguments lately but I can always still smile when I watch you guys drive and just interact the viewers and each other. Please keep doing what you're already doing
savagegeese but come on lets be honest on used car market the Silver Sport version with some of the Red are going for bargains right now plus fact the aftermarket stuff for it is growing by the day. It’s bizarre how reviewers are trashing this car yet the aftermarket for it keeps growing.
Mike i actually think it's amazing since some of the channels have really good curators for the genre of music. plus, if you roadtrip all the time, satellite radio is a must.
I discovered you guys about a two weeks ago and I've been binge watching your videos between classes ever since! I'm addicted! The Grand Tour should have you on as guests for Season 3! You guys ROCK!
Own one. Agree with all your points. Don't think the infotainment system was updated since 2013. Anyways I'm happy with mine. Can lug folks around. Fully loaded cpo for $27k usd. No sane ppl should buy this new though
yeah, I have a '14 g50 with a VQ still under the hood, and the infotament is a reskinned vesion of the one in my '11 g37. Nissan announced theyre revamping it completely by 2020... so 2 more years of 2010 infotament in a world where computers are outdated after a week.
yeah, all this "infotainment" crap is useless. Slow, laggy, buggy, deep menus, distracting, overly complex. Give me knobs, switches, and aux input or at least a bluetooth input that works.
日産スカイライン it’s not super cheap. The price of a fully loaded one is way too damn much for what you actually get, I own one but I got it used, no way I’d buy new. Used ones are cheap because this car depreciates so damn much.
I have had a red sport for about 5 months now and i love it. Definitely not the sportiest car stock but plenty of fun and people make them into mini gtrs with ease, and i hope to myself eventually. In my opinion one of the best looking cars you can buy, not many compare to me.
2014 q50s 3.7 owner, stellar video as usual Jakub & Yuri! You guys are 100% on the money with this review, it’s a fantastic daily/GT car. If you guys drive a q60, turn off active trace control in the personal mode, deactivate vehicle dynamic control, and FULL SEND! Keep up the awesome work 👍🏻
The infotainment budget at Infiniti/Nissan probably hasn't been increased in a while so the controls and screens are old in comparison to the competition. I think the car is nice looking on the outside though, sort of aggressive without being outlandish. It's nice that it is still RWD/AWD versus FWD too.
The technology just changes so fast now and it seems like Nissan/Infiniti were slow to react in some models. If your interface and graphics don't keep up it just makes the whole car seem a generation behind.
Dazed and confused. Drove a rental q50 with 24 miles on the odometer ......shockingly awful driving experience. Biggest gripe: horrible steering. Best review channel on the tubes even though you are not fans of my 2017 Mazda3. We can’t agree on everything. Keep up the good work guys.
Mr. TAMW What's wrong with the toyobaru twins? I'm not trying to break any speed records lol I just want a daily car I can track once a blue moon or month.

Power plant is definitely the highlight of the car, after currently owning one for about 6months now I can honestly say I've surprised many V8s with it.. However infotainment system really is in need of a refresh. You guys made my day with this review!
Erick Gonzalez I was seriously considering this car as an option. I quickly removed the fusion sport after watching a couple of reviews but the used prices on these are a HUGE discount. I think it will be between this, the S4 (really S5 Sportback) and possibly, the older C63/M3. Rather disappointed in the lack of sporty handling and infotainment. The S4/S5 I think is the better overall combination which is the way I am leaning.
Nick Murray infinity underdelivers in comparison to BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Lexus, Volvo, Porsche, etc etc etc. I dont see why this deserves to go under the category of luxury cars
Yeah to get the car spec'd as they have it here in the US it's $58k. That's highly optioned 340i money. Why WOULD anyone buy this? And as I asked above, I'd imagine even the Stinger would be a better buy...
I think you should have spent a bit more time tinkering with the settings. There is actually a digital speedometer for 2018 model. To be fair, it isn't that obvious but it's there.
These cars on the used market are the best bang for your buck in performance. Doesn't even have to be a Redsport. Throw a few bolt ons and a tune and you can turn this into a 500hp+ beast for under $3000. You can also fix the useless 2 screen infotainment with a single Tesla screen. Ask me how I know
My biggest gripe with this car is for a 400hp Performance Luxury car why is the exhaust so quiet? >.< BMW's and Mercedes have much better exhaust notes and crackles on their turbo cars.
Agreed. I guess the "Red Sport 400" thing is just a selling gimmick for the buyers to feel like the car is sporty, but it lacks those sporty features. The coupe is much better though.
The reason they advertise it at 400 horsepower is because that would make it compete automatically with the m3/M4 the atsv and benz they dyno pretty high at 375ish so that puts it close but as far as everything else the others out shine them so 400 horsepower made it more enticing
I have a 2022 Q. Good points on the video. For those interested, the new models have cleaned up the info system and its not laggy. The top and botton screen look great and it has android auto and car play so the maps look very nice. Also, the throttle response is much better than described. FYI.
Really because I have 21 Q50 RS 400 and raced vs charger rt stock and he beat me from dig or rolls there is throttle delay unbelievable even with sport + mode this car here is shit not worth it and now sold it and bought m440i xdrive
Who in their right mind would buy a brand new Q50? You probably spend about 60k for a car that has the same interior since 2013. It’s a great car no doubt but just go buy a second hand one if you really want one.
@Emmanuel Martinez but Red sport 400 hp and twin turbo I was upset when can't beat stock rt 16 with all that power No need to mod it just to walk the Rt those red sport should be enough to beat it but I tried many races vs Rt and specially the 15 17 models they can keep up with stock red sport because they have 8 speed zf gearbox I am still saying stock red sport not worth it at all its normal car not even sporty sedan
@@metricrowes1427A stock g37 Beats an rt, the q50 3.0 also does and the redsport without a doubt. I think your car must’ve not been running perfect because I’ve seen it with my own eyes and tested it multiple times and once in 2 for sure good running cars (q60 and rt) and the rt is quite slower.
I’m going to have to disagree completely with this video. I daily drive a RS400 and own a manual 991 Carrera 4S and an Audi RS5 as my fun cars. Some of the gripes are a bit excessive. Handling: I swapped out the run flats for a set of pilot sports, as well as I added a nice coilover kit, and now it runs as it should have from the factory. There’s very minimal body roll and turns on an instant. Performance: In stock form no other competitor in its class would come close to beating it, whether it be from Germany, England, Japan, America, or even Korea. I modified it slightly recently with a full exhaust, intakes, downpipe, and a light tune, and now i’m giving M3’s and ATS-V’s a hard time. Interior/infotainment: I will admit, some of the buttons are straight out of Nissan, but overall the interior is soft touch. For infotainment, it was very laggy in the earlier models and has slowly progressed with each year. On mine it has been laggy at times but my local dealership resets it every once in a while and it works perfect. Steering: Yes, the steering is weird to get used to but it makes for the perfect daily driver. I do not feel any bumps and imperfections in the road through the wheel, and the DAS steering system is as responsive as any true sports car. Input is immediate and it goes where you point it to. If DAS isn’t your thing, the regular hydraulic steering is pretty nice despite you’re still not getting as much steering feel. Summary: This car is a near perfect daily driver, and I think that’s more of what Infiniti was going for. It’s not ultra luxury or ultra sporty, it’s a nice middleground for those that want a mix of both. It has the power, premium features and quality, and the design., which is more than enough for most people.
Thank you. These guys totally missed the point of what this car is for. Plus they were incorrect about several things, such as saying that there is no digital speedometer.
I feel you on this one man. I have full exhaust with catless down pipes, upgraded heat exchanger, intakes, blow off valves and a dyno tune on my 18 Q50 redsport and it's a absolute beast to drive.
Yea I love DAS. Put it on Dynamic+ and the car is very twitchy; goes exactly where you put it before you even know you put it there. Doing mountain runs (Lookout mtn, Central City Pkwy) is a dream. At this point I think reviewers bash it because everyone else has. Car and Driver criticized it for reacting too fast to inputs... they're just luddites. I'm sure a Porsche is better; but this is a daily 4dr sedan that's routinely discounted to ~50k fully loaded and $4-500 lease deals. InTouch is junk; it's shocking Nissan still isn't putting Apple and Android in all their cars -- let them do the software and let us update our shit whenever we want. Bad nav systems that cost $100 to update are stupid.
A friend of mine got his car hit about a month ago and the rental company gave him a Q50 3.0t, that I drove less than a week ago. How much closer can you get to real car tests? Amazing. I don't care much about infotainment, the driving experience was exactly what you described, very comfortable on the highway a little bit heavy on the city and the throttle response was annoyingly slow. Very comfortable in the inside and the fuel consumption was way over the one in his Camry. Thank you for testing cars that we get to see on the roads and even drive.
That's disappointing to know about the lack of sportiness with this car at the price point it's at, but I'm glad you guys pointed that out right at the start. Good job as always and keep up the good work!
I took the bose speakers out of my doors of my ATS and I put some infinity coaxial reference in the front doors and infinity primus coaxial in back doors
When you factor in the 16 to 20 percent discounts, this becomes an amazing buy. No, it's not an S4, but for 48k loaded after discounts, it's a compelling package. Not many 400hp AWD sedans out there for that price. Stinger and G70 certainly compete but Infiniti has aggressive lease deals. Also, skip the das which is the number 1 complaint on the car.
Clerkp to be honest there even more of a better deal if you get them pre-owned even the Silver Sport version of the Q50 are fetching in the 25K ranges.
At some parts in this video i felt personally offended as a Q50 owner lool but you guys did an amazing job and were right about almost everything. Infiniti could have done so much more to this car to make a bit more sporty. Being young myself this really did seem like a dad car to me when i purchased it but with some coilovers, a full exhaust system and maybe a JB4 tune, thing car can be really fun. This was my second choice to the 340i M sport as i could not find a decently priced used one and I am pretty happy with my decision. Awesome review tho guys, keep at it!!
It’s not that I couldn’t afford the 340i, I just couldn’t find one with a reasonable sticker price here where I live. I wanted a slightly used and I wasn’t paying close to the sticker price for a 340i with already 40,000km when I could get the Q50 for half the sticker price with only 16,000km with every option availavlble. Don’t really like the 330i to much and the 240s are really nice but way to small and inconvenient for me.
I'm a Q50 RS 400 owner and member of the Q50 bulletin board... some gripe about the tranny and some gripe about the infotainment... BUT this car is at a good price point. If it were perfect and all those issues addressed, it would be a lot more expensive. Jus sayin
Kelley9 Good point. The Q50 RS cost literally 55-58K sticker for the RWD model depending how you package it. Then you factor in how Infiniti gives you massive incentives - you can get this car for below 50K. There has been offers going for 43K-45K OTD for these cars. And lease deals go for less than 400/month at 0 down. This car is insanely cheap for what you get. So cost cutting is going to happen. At the end of the day, if you want a insanely good infotainment system with 400HP - you might be looking at a more expensive car. And I don't anyone would pay mid 50s to 60K for an Infiniti.
What the fuck are you smoking bruh? comparing the R35 to this thing that don't even have a decent steering feel The all mighty GT-R, as low as 2.7s 0-60MPH and still in the TOP 10 in Nürburgring
fersunk think hes comapring it to the 480hp varient. I hvae seen few videos of this car with bolt ons do very well against some high hp cars. That being said u can make a civic do the same thing...lol this this is trash in every way pre much. Id rather have a golf diesel.
fersunk this VR30DDTT engine is a GTR BLOCK (VR38DETT) except the VR30 has direct injection and a few other tweaks like the manifold and turbo setup. The only thing that would never allow it to be a "BABY GTR" is the transmission. I think Nissan needs to offer a DCT option or something On par with the GSF's transmission. I would personally get a RWD version with the normal steering
haters gonna hate, but its still a skyline lol. As for @Donta' Nichols transmission comment, the division in charge of the Black S project said theyre working with Nissan to develop a DCT that will possibly make it into the next Z and new Infiniti Lineup. Of course all rumours, but fingers crossed.
absolutely... EVERYONE agrees they need to put a DCT in the red sport... nobody buys a red sport and worries about NVH so infiniti needs to listen to the people and do it... they would appreciate the huge jump in sales
the camera system and infotainment is from 2009. Its been mildly updated over the years but needs a revision. My wife's 2009 Infinit EX35 is the same, minus the second display. That being said. I hate this car LOL
Love the way how you guys address the small details about the car. Wonder how the reactions will be on both of you guys when reviewing a Koenigsegg Agera R or Regera (if they really spare a car for you guys to review it).
I live in Los Angeles and currently drive an Infiniti Q50. My previous car was a Lexus IS350. Man.....sure do miss that beautiful Lexus. The way it drove, the way it sounded, the digital speedometer display, and the handling...handling for days with amazing feel. Then I leased an Infiniti and regretted it ever since. Never again. Nissan disappointed me with this product since it feels like the car is trying to be multiple things but can never master any of them. Whereas the Lexus was a solid built machine of class, elegance, and was fun to drive. Anyways I'll end my rant. Love the videos gentlemen!
Nathan Drake it just sucks Lexus hasn’t updated the powertrain since 2006 expect for an 8 speed it’s been virtually the same output since the last gen IS350 I might as well save thousands by getting the previous gen. I can frankly care less about the digital speed gimmicks.
Would you guys consider reviewing the Q60 red sport without the DAS? I'd think you'd both find it to be much more enjoyable than you found this. Love your videos guys!!
Its a 340i competitor... thats it. Why does everyone think because it has a spelled out name, that its supposed to deliver something equivalent to AMG/M/GT3/etc? Infiniti is working on the Black Sport. That will be your ///M competitor for all you clowns complaining about the Red Sport offering nothing more than horse power.
Seriously... these people want M and AMG competition for $400 lease prices. It packs a good bit more than 400hp too... people are getting that to the wheels on dynos. As typical with Nissan - and esp the Skyline - it outperforms and out-techs the competition in its segment / price bracket while coming in as average in the luxury department. If you want luxury, buy a 4cyl Audi.
The center display between the speedo and tach does show the speed on the q50 non red sport so I’m sure it does on the red sport. I think you can change what you can display there in a sub menu. You’re limited so not all of the options are shown.
Cześć Jakub, take 15 zlotys minus tax from me (I'm the guy who asked you recently on Reddit about your Polish family). I can't wait for the SVR/SL 63 review. Therefore I'm sponsoring filling the Merc up.
Totally agree with the gauge cluster comment! It's the same in the Nissan Rogue: you can see any info you want on that middle screen except a number with your speed, the only thing that a casual driver ever needs to know.
If GTA had more twisty roads, I would have opted for Alfa Giulia. But with straight roads in most of Toronto and its vicinities, I decided to go with this one. - It's been about 6 months and highway driving mostly, and it's very quick. A LOT quicker than I actually need it to be, and will get you in trouble if you don't watch your self. - I agree with "Cool dad's car" notion, and it hurts a little to admit lol. - Very comfortable to drive most days. Transmission is smooth. Agree with laggy upshifting in manual mode unless you're revving it close to the redline. The magnesium paddle shifters feel great. - The dual screens don't really bother me - the set does its job. Certainly not as intuitive as BMW/Mini's for example, but still useful. - I do feel the body roll in the standard driving mode, but in sport or sport+, it lessens. - DAS is certainly useful, and one of the biggest factors making this car a comfortable tourer - less physical stress on and off of long drives. - DAS certainly feels "weird", when changing lanes - feels "floaty"(for lack of better words) - Looking forward to changing out the Dunlops when they are done - I've read about how it changes driving dynamics completely. - The lane departure along with other "intervention" systems - I'm still torn on it. Useful, reassuring, but interfering. There are days I feel like doing a spirited driving without all the beeping and steering me back into the lane, and it's a pain to completely turn it off through the infotainment. - 11.6l/100km on mixed driving and modes. Mostly sport +, so I'm sure I can do better on gas. It's very fun in straight lines. Comfortable most days. A little awkward (but not terrible) steering. Since I'm not a race car driver nor do I drive on the roads to race, so this does the job for me, with an extra room for excitement whenever I feel like it.
I feel like you guys don’t know what you talking about tho 😫 people get the red sport not to look sporty but because it has 400hp be the 300 hp base trim! Shits a beast for a family sedan luxury car
I felt your frustration Yuri about having no digital speed readout especially with that overcrowded speedo! Also, Jakub is spot on about having way too many steering options and infact driving options nowadays.
It does have that option to show a digital speedo in the middle on the non red sport (I’ve had two different dealer loaners this year). I think the menus weren’t configured. I believe there are some sub menus to select what to display like speedo, tire pressure, audio, navigation, drivers aid etc. but you can’t have all selected to toggle through.
You guys are trippin this car looks great and is pretty quick y’all straight bashing on a damn good car simple muffler delete and a down pipe this car is fast as fuck or get the JB4 plug in mod to increase the boost in the turbos
Glen Davis I couldn’t agree more. I have one of these and it’s getting tuned soon. It’s a great sleeper imo. I’ve seen fbo of these keep up with cars that cost 10-20k more.
They review cars for a living. They’re just used to better cars. They never said it sucked. And they review STOCK CARS not modded ones lmaooo. Just accept that It just ain’t as great as the competition. I think they can tell what’s a good car lmaoo. My friend has a Q50s and I have an A6 S line and trust me there’s a difference in drive quality 🤷🏻♂️
Sport? Sure. I mean, the Audi S5 is a much bigger car with only 349 hp and it’s 0-60 is quicker than this one. I wouldn’t say it’s luxury. That infotainment system is absolute ass. And it’s missing a ton of features other cars in its segment have. Super dated interior.
Have you driven the car? Yes the infotainment system is brutal, I agree. The interior in my opinion is very nice and good quality. Infiniti has won awards for their engines. The car I would say is probably more luxury than sporty. Its performance driven. Does it handle as good as a bimmer probably not..
Julianna Caccamo I own one, don’t get me wrong, I enjoy driving it. But sometimes I wanna flick my own infotainment system off, it’s a piece of shit when I wanna use it.
Ya for sure. The turbo lag bothers me sometimes, especially on the highway. Sometimes it takes way too long for those turbos to spool up. Name is Joe haha...Julianna is my daughter.
I actually have a q50, if you adjust the bass and treble in the menu, the sounds is really good. Side note, out of all the reviews of yours I have watched, you guys hardly talk about the stereo. (Besides rewinding satellite radio) I would love it if each review you said what brand the speakers are, how many there are, and how good it sounds.
So I test drove both the SS and RS, and I have to say.... 100hp increase has never felt so underwhelming. So I purchased the SS. Plus with just a $300 mod you can have 365hp with the SS.
The comedic banter is tighter than the sport suspension on this Q50. I would describe the dialogue as two gears meshing together. If you were to turn the volume down, it looks like an underwhelmed young dad who brought this Q50 home and is just now realizing how much he paid for it, when he really should have bought a Lexus, while his friend tries to convince him not to Google Canada’s “cooling-off” clauses.
As a Q50 Luxe owner I have to agree with everything said, it’s not a sports sedan in that it doesn’t handle like one but has has plenty of power, comfort and style. In my opinion it’s more of a Grand Touring Sedan. But in your review you overlooked the remote features of this car which are excellent something the German cars don’t have. Plus the Navigation which is a little out dated but accurate this too is not a regular option on some cars. Navigation and driving assist aids should be standard equipment on all cars.
It's actually badged Infiniti in Japan... even though Infiniti doesn't exist, sold at Nissan Prince dealers. Seems like they're testing the waters there. Infiniti has, more or less, become the Prince half of Nissan.
This car is a good example of a generation of cars with really bad interior/infotainment setups relative to modern expectations. There's just a lag in updating interior tech. Cars like the new Acura RDX's interior show promise for the future! Keep calling them out guys! Great vid.
Love you guys! You nailed this one. Even the Bose review is right on. Lol. I drove the regular 300 hp Q50, and some others, then bought the Alfa Giulia. ;)
Are you guys reviewing these right after a track day with a GTS?? Couldn’t disagree more regarding the power. Sure it’s not the fastest off the line, but it’s genuinely quick and delivers gobs of power from mid range up. Might be a Dad car, but it’s a fast Dad car.
I've always been a Nissan/Infiniti enthusiast. Excellent excellent excellent cars. IMO the G35/G37 is one of the greatest cars ever made, it was sooo ahead of its time when it came out. But infiniti lost me after they stopped offering a 6MT. And they seriously need to to overhaul their infotainment systems...
Great approach guys and as always great fun! Don't forget to do a launch start with any car that is 300+ HP. It would be cool to see how fast it is from 0-62mph. We all gonna be in a dad car someday :-P
What they said about the Q50 being dad cars is true, my dad owns one as well. For the infotainment system, the one in the video was really laggy. My dad's one works smoothly.
The reason the steering wheel is so nice and high quality is because it's lifted out of the new redesigned GT-R. Literally the same wheel except with an infinity logo.
Gurkarn Sandhu yeah idrc what people have to say about CVTs it's really a meme at this point. As an overall package and content for the money I want to see a comparison between the two cars because I think Infiniti sucks
Devon Gee WRONG! A FWD CVT can pretend to be anything but on any circuit or mountain road or straight away the RWD Q50 will CLEARLY BE the superior drivers car.
Donta' Nichols I don't have any mountains around here unfortunately but whether it's a driver's car or not doesn't take away from the fact that it is *a* car and that it fairs well in Platinum trim with other luxury cars. I didn't ask them to race the cars. Idc if Nissan has poorly marketed the Maxima as a sports car. I'm not arguing that it's a sports car with a CVT and FWD. I'm arguing that it's just as good of an overall experience, just as good of being a *car* since the only thing these two could say about it [Q50] was that it's a very nice highway cruiser. When comparing the technology and the looks to its luxury brand brother, the Maxima is nothing short of great value. The only thing that the Infiniti has over the Maxima that matters to ME as a buyer is AWD.
Never owned this car but my best friend did and I had a small attachment towards it(mostly due to helping with mods) it was a really fun imo "sporty" car and prefer it over the Q60. I remember at one point he had some high end Ultra Performance tires that had a hard time gripping between first to second and it's surreal feel of it going from 65 mph to 120 in terms of not feeling the acceleration during a trip to AZ while reading a book It was a fun car and good times
They're comparing how this car drives to a Camry XLE? Are you kidding?! I test drove the Camry XLE. Turning is very soft and unresponsive on the Camry. I have a Q50 but not the Red Sport. The Red Sport has something called Direct Adaptive Steering and maybe that's what ruins the steering on the Red Sport for them. My Q50 Signature has a better steering system which is directly connected to the axel and not electronic like the Red Sport. However, I can't believe this guy would even mention a Camry in the same sentence as this car. The Q50 is a very strong sports sedan.
Peter S the Silver Sport is really the best bang for the buck sport sedan you can get on the used car market right now. I love all the hate Straightpipes is giving on this car makes it a win-win for buyers like me to get them for a basement prices.
This car does have the digital speedo. You just have to go into some menus and activate it. I did that on mine and it’s the only option I use on that screen, love it

No matter how much money you throw at the Q50 you still can't get cooled seats. Yet the Maxima has them 🙄🙄🙄
Yeah but the Maxima has a CVT....
I live in Minnesota so cooled seats are of little value to me.

R B Me too! They’re great!!!
Nissan announced theyre revamping it completely by 2020... so 2 more years of 2010 infotament in a world where computers are outdated after a week.
yeah... these days i just have a mount for my phone. barely ever touch the screens.
yeah, all this "infotainment" crap is useless. Slow, laggy, buggy, deep menus, distracting, overly complex. Give me knobs, switches, and aux input or at least a bluetooth input that works.
Chicken Fried Corgi i have a 19 Silver sport 50k msrp on a lease .00003 money factor 7k off and 430 a month with 2k down.
It's nice that it is still RWD/AWD versus FWD too.
harrismi7 they’re redesigning all of them right now. I have a maxima and it has a nice new infotainment
The technology just changes so fast now and it seems like Nissan/Infiniti were slow to react in some models. If your interface and graphics don't keep up it just makes the whole car seem a generation behind.
Darek M the platform is still RWD, even the 4 cylinder models.
I'm pretty sure the new Lincoln Continental can be had with 400hp and FWD
harrismi7 They need to up their map game too. Latest nav on my Q50 still doesn't have roads that have been around for 5 years where I live.
The RS400 also has side view mirrors that are black and not body color. For the speed MPH to show up, you have to turn it on in the menu.
Yeah these guys bashed the car and didn't even know what they were talking about
There is a digital speedometer, you just didn't turn it on.
ik the review on this is so bad
Dazed and confused.
Drove a rental q50 with 24 miles on the odometer ......shockingly awful driving experience. Biggest gripe: horrible steering. Best review channel on the tubes even though you are not fans of my 2017 Mazda3. We can’t agree on everything. Keep up the good work guys.
Right on
Bro tell me why EVERYTIME I think of a car you guys post about it the next day. Like im honestly scared
We subscribed to your brain
Psst think of a frs/brz.
Bailey Kriczky psst think of 488 Pista
J73DD37J please don't think of that vehicle unless you want cancer
Mr. TAMW What's wrong with the toyobaru twins? I'm not trying to break any speed records lol I just want a daily car I can track once a blue moon or month.
Pretty rare that yuri isn't judging the car so critical. And even more rare that jakub is the one do it. Love the honesty
Do you agree or disagree with us on this car? Is it sporty enough to be a Red Sport 400?

TheStraightPipes I love you
Its a good group these Patreon supporters!
TheStraightPipes. Hey great job guy's I tink the G70 is more spot car of the Q50s and the price to higher for all the bad stuff in this car
Does anyone still think Infiniti is a luxury brand?? :) Outstanding review.
No. I rather purchase a Genesis G80
TOTO Cult since the Stinger is basically a better looking G80 with better handling, I'll take that as a yes :)
Stephen Patterson preferences, Genesis is better built overall. Hyundai always put more money into the vehicles than Kia, facts
I think you should have spent a bit more time tinkering with the settings. There is actually a digital speedometer for 2018 model. To be fair, it isn't that obvious but it's there.
I love the honesty
These cars on the used market are the best bang for your buck in performance. Doesn't even have to be a Redsport. Throw a few bolt ons and a tune and you can turn this into a 500hp+ beast for under $3000. You can also fix the useless 2 screen infotainment with a single Tesla screen. Ask me how I know
How
My biggest gripe with this car is for a 400hp Performance Luxury car why is the exhaust so quiet? >.< BMW's and Mercedes have much better exhaust notes and crackles on their turbo cars.
Agreed. I guess the "Red Sport 400" thing is just a selling gimmick for the buyers to feel like the car is sporty, but it lacks those sporty features. The coupe is much better though.
Joel Jeffrey I agree I own the q50 redsport and it’s missing a lot especially when t comes to the exhaust sound but it’s a great daily.
I would imagine this car is best as a grand touring car for long highway commutes.
The reason they advertise it at 400 horsepower is because that would make it compete automatically with the m3/M4 the atsv and benz they dyno pretty high at 375ish so that puts it close but as far as everything else the others out shine them so 400 horsepower made it more enticing
The steering SUCKS. The car needs a total redo, starting with the steering. It needs a pulse.
400hp and yet no 0-60 test?
0 to 60 is 3.5 sec
@@griffster8853 Um, more like 4.5 sec
That's what I meant lol my bad.....big fingers small buttons
It’s 4.4
More like 5 seconds
@@metricrowes1427you just didn’t take the time to mod it, I have a base q50 and I walk scatpacks all day
@Emmanuel Martinez but Red sport 400 hp and twin turbo I was upset when can't beat stock rt 16 with all that power
No need to mod it just to walk the Rt those red sport should be enough to beat it but I tried many races vs Rt and specially the 15 17 models they can keep up with stock red sport because they have 8 speed zf gearbox
I am still saying stock red sport not worth it at all its normal car not even sporty sedan
Cars like this make me want my next car to be my old ‘86 Mazda 323 with a 5 speed manual.
I've had my Red Sport for over 6 years. I love it! Runs like a clock, looks great and has more performance than most need. These guys are real picky.
These guys on this review is Bias asF!!!!!
The 400 RedSport doesn’t actually have a VQ engine, it has a VR30DDTT, meaning that it’s most closely related to the GTRs engine, the VR38DETT
Change those horrible tires and the feeling is totally different.
Thank you for testing cars that we get to see on the roads and even drive.
movie quote......Dazed and confused.....
It has a digital speedometer you just didnt turn it on -.- so much for a review.
You can easliy make 500hp with simple bolt ons
You can make 500 with a tune
I like how these guys go back and forth. It feels natural.
Glad I hit that notification bell. I was on a binge watching a bunch of your videos that I missed a few hours ago, and now this. Awesome! :D
That's disappointing to know about the lack of sportiness with this car at the price point it's at, but I'm glad you guys pointed that out right at the start. Good job as always and keep up the good work!
This car is pretty brutal as a whole package (compared to the competition), disappointed!
I took the bose speakers out of my doors of my ATS and I put some infinity coaxial reference in the front doors and infinity primus coaxial in back doors
I'd rather have a G37. Still looks and sounds better
Q50 looks better
The g37 sedan looks like a grandmas car the q50 looks way better but the rear looks like a sonata
Guys this 2018 RS do have a digital speed odometer. Thx
Yes
Saw you guys at petro on thompson with the jag and the merc, cant wait for that video!
Yoooo! Haha
Thanks for being reasonable!
You cant afford one of the more expensive 3 series available so you chose to go for an Infiniti???? Why not a 330i? Or a M240i? Its baffling
Add an ecu tune and some bolts ons and it is basically a 4-door R35 GTR with more torque.
What the fuck are you smoking bruh?
comparing the R35 to this thing that don't even have a decent steering feel
The all mighty GT-R, as low as 2.7s 0-60MPH and still in the TOP 10 in Nürburgring
fersunk think hes comapring it to the 480hp varient.
Its def worth it if you lease I would never buy it though. You can lease for under 400 a month
Days of 400 hp being something great are long gone. The new bare minimum is 600 hp, in my humble opinion.
Dazed and Confused... That's the movie guys . One of my favs.
Cześć Jakub, take 15 zlotys minus tax from me (I'm the guy who asked you recently on Reddit about your Polish family). I can't wait for the SVR/SL 63 review. Therefore I'm sponsoring filling the Merc up.
You're the man
Pozdrowienia z Oklahomy.
f g Pozdrawiam z jadącego z godzinnym opóźnieniem pociągu z Wrocławia do Częstochowy :D
Totally agree with the gauge cluster comment! It's the same in the Nissan Rogue: you can see any info you want on that middle screen except a number with your speed, the only thing that a casual driver ever needs to know.
It does have digital speed read out. You just gotta set it up in the settings
- DAS certainly feels "weird", when changing lanes - feels "floaty"(for lack of better words)
- Looking forward to changing out the Dunlops when they are done - I've read about how it changes driving dynamics completely.
Always nice to see your video!!!
It does have a digital speedometer. 2018+ Q50 has it but the screen wasn’t set up unfortunately.
Only channel that I’ll click on a video for a car I don’t care about just because you guys are so awesome!!
Thanks!
The car is a beast in every way ! Its fast from the get go and beyond that ! You guys are crazy!
It's a luxury sport sedan. I have a 2019 red sport and it's crazy fast !
Sport?
David Ipina the s5 is a bigger car yes,the 0-60 is the same as the red sport ,so what are you talking about ? You would know that if you did own one.
I respect the review 100% having owned a Q50S Hybrid for a year and then I had to drop it.
So I test drove both the SS and RS, and I have to say.... 100hp increase has never felt so underwhelming. So I purchased the SS. Plus with just a $300 mod you can have 365hp with the SS.
HP is up-top so unless you did a roll-run from say 65-120mph you probably wouldn't see it. Trap speeds would reflect it on the track.
Haha amazing
As a Q50 Luxe owner I have to agree with everything said, it’s not a sports sedan in that it doesn’t handle like one but has has plenty of power, comfort and style. In my opinion it’s more of a Grand Touring Sedan. But in your review you overlooked the remote features of this car which are excellent something the German cars don’t have. Plus the Navigation which is a little out dated but accurate this too is not a regular option on some cars. Navigation and driving assist aids should be standard equipment on all cars.
I feel like Yuri doesn't know what he's talking about. Other guy is more knowledgeable
My dad got the G35 and still loves it.
What will you say, if I tell you, this car is called the SKYLINE in Japan. Nissan Skyline.
Great vid.
If you tune & mod this car the correct way, this can easily reach the 600 range.
No not really...
You are 100% correct about the stitching on the shifter being uncomfortable😯
the 2018's do have the speedo in the digital display, must have been turned off in the setting for the one you were driving.
Man that intro music thumps yet so classy
"Heyeyeyey, watch the leather maaan!"
You guys were kind of right I can't wait for that Q60 black edition🤤🤤
Love you guys! You nailed this one. Even the Bose review is right on. Lol. I drove the regular 300 hp Q50, and some others, then bought the Alfa Giulia. ;)
How's the Giulia so far? I want one, but I'm hesitant because of the reliability horror stories I've heard.
Are you guys reviewing these right after a track day with a GTS?? Couldn’t disagree more regarding the power. Sure it’s not the fastest off the line, but it’s genuinely quick and delivers gobs of power from mid range up. Might be a Dad car, but it’s a fast Dad car.
Luxury, but not really. Sporty, but not really. Weird package.
perfect daily, not for a real sport, not for a real luxury. I own 3.5h Vq35 with modified exhaust and I love it.
But it has a lot horse. So some coilover and better tires will transfer this into very proper sport sedan
It is weird its just fast
digital speedometer is in the settings. along with a secret menu that allows you to up the touch screen sensitivity.
Car is great currently own one spend 60k and all worth it
Sounds like 2018 Nissan is just being 2018 Nissan...disappointing. great review guys!
That Dazed and Confused quote was on point
Thank you thank you finally and then fancy product thanks again love the video👍👍
First a new savagegeese vid, then a straight pipes video too? Today is gonna be a good day
Great approach guys and as always great fun! Don't forget to do a launch start with any car that is 300+ HP. It would be cool to see how fast it is from 0-62mph. We all gonna be in a dad car someday :-P
4 years later, it's 4.5s on a good launch

What they said about the Q50 being dad cars is true, my dad owns one as well.
For the infotainment system, the one in the video was really laggy. My dad's one works smoothly.
Coulda Shoulda Woulda been more than a contender.
Look at the G70 3.3T and learn Infiniti, that is what I wanted the Q50 to be.
The reason the steering wheel is so nice and high quality is because it's lifted out of the new redesigned GT-R. Literally the same wheel except with an infinity logo.
Test a new Maxima please and compare it to this Q50S experience. I tell a lot of people the top trim Maxima is just as good if not better than the Q50
Devon Gee Maxima has a CVT, the Q50 doesn’t, nuff said :P
Gurkarn Sandhu yeah idrc what people have to say about CVTs it's really a meme at this point. As an overall package and content for the money I want to see a comparison between the two cars because I think Infiniti sucks
The Maxima changed to FWD and the Infiniti is still RWD/AWD. It’s too bad that Nissan changed their “4DSC” to a FWD car with a CVT.
I like these interviews, honest opinions 🙏🏼
I would definitely go for the stinger over this
joshua lotion the Genesis g70
either is better
The RS400 is quicker... I like the Stinger styling better.
enjoy the paint that peels after a month with your stinger shit
that happened only on sunset yellow models idiot. they are currently repainting them all.
I love Infiniti Logo so much
Never owned this car but my best friend did and I had a small attachment towards it(mostly due to helping with mods) it was a really fun imo "sporty" car and prefer it over the Q60. I remember at one point he had some high end Ultra Performance tires that had a hard time gripping between first to second and it's surreal feel of it going from 65 mph to 120 in terms of not feeling the acceleration during a trip to AZ while reading a book
It was a fun car and good times
Jakub I've been peeping that wrist. Nice watch collection you got there!
Thanks!
I did that on mine and it’s the only option I use on that screen, love it
Let's call this premium.... Not luxury.
