Dana isn't saying "Shane made a mistake"
He is saying "We [The Ufc] made a mistake by not re-singing him"
nothing gets past you
@@vipset87 Call me Sherlock Holmes
@@AletheAce nice lol. salute for being able to take a joke
He was offered more money by pfl. They were going to resign him but not as much as pfl was going to sign him for.
They were too cheap to pay someone who has had amazing, entertaining knock them dead fights on some of the biggest cards in UFC history
People in the comments not getting what Dana is saying. He’s saying the UFC made a mistake not resigning him
The one that got away
I think that’s obvious… people are just pointing out he left bc they didn’t pay him
Ahhh great point glad he admitted that straight up
" too low $$$ offer made by UFC "
They had every opportunity to match his deal… they don’t view him as a big money fighter so they let him walk… it wasn’t a mistake…
I'm so glad Dana acknowledges it was a mistake! I can't believe they let him go!
Dana lost one of his biggest draws in company history
💀
@@amarirasheed6 I wouldn’t say company history
@@WrestlingMMA3033 he’s being sarcastic
@Trav B you’re a casual then lmao
@@amarirasheed6 I assume you were referring to Nate? If so, I get your point. 👍. As in if he would let Nate go, he would let Shane go. Regardless, I think it’s a mistake as well.
Pretty huge for Dana to be saying this, just a few hours after Burgos announced that he’s joining PFL
Dana rarely speaks this well about fighters. Wow!
Hope he enjoys making more money in the pfl
@Hard Truth burgos himself said the ufc couldn’t match the offer that pfl gave him.
@Hard Truth lol okay, who in their right mind would go to pfl for less money
@Hard Truth imagine being so small minded that you believe a million dollars is life changing. It’s not. Almost half goes to taxes alone. A starter house is 300k. Money gone. Lmao. The UFC would have paid more in the long run
@@jasonphillips9281 he said he's making more in his first fight than he did in his entire time in the Ufc. So you're completely wrong 👍
@@jasonphillips9281 stop pretending to know what you are talking about
He's making way more money now than when he was in the UFC, the only thing the UFC is good for is making yourself into a bigger name and to a wider audience, building your brand. He has that now, now it's time to get paid.
What was he making in the ufc and what’s he making now?
@@stoney-wan I don't know the specifics, but what Shane said while talking to Ariel Helwani is that he got an offer from PFL that would have been ridiculous to refuse. The UFC didn't match the offer. He said he'll be making 2-3 times more than the UFC ever paid him. He's grateful to the UFC for the aforementioned stardom it gave him, but also said it isn't the best place for money, which is a well known fact.

Since when?

He went on record to say that he was signing with PFL, UFC didn't match the offer, and he'd be making 2-3 times more per fight than he ever did with the UFC.
@@thismonkeyjustworks1255 he said that one PFL fight is the same as multiple UFC fights paywise on Ariel's show

@@truthtyperii7727 Kinda realistic
He is 31 already
He is not contender caliber(in the UFC) and he is in his prime
@@truthtyperii7727 oh yea ure right. But that was kinda true tho. I was surprised with all the other stuff he said tbh
Guess I gotta tune into PFL now. Dude is one of the most exciting fighters I’ve ever seen. He’s been in some super dope striking exchanges
What should be taken from this clip is, the money Shane Burgos is making with PFL is the equivilent of championship money in UFC. Dana saying he never saw the kid as champ material but then says UFC screwed up not resigning him.
Whats wrong with that? Ufc loves guys who come to fight and bring it shane is one of those dudes, championship material very hard but a durable and fun fighter to always watch
You can’t expect them to think everyone is coming in and could be a champ. They hold 52 events a year, and have 550-700 fighters on their roster at any given time. Burgos’s contract is bigger but he isn’t making championship money solely based off the contract. If he wins the tournament and gets the million then he’d have that type of money. He got offered more from the PFL when he was a free agent years ago but turned it down because the opportunities you get from just being in the UFC and on a big stage. He has two daughters now and said they come first or he would’ve stayed in the UFC
*Just because someone isn’t championship material doesn’t mean they’re not a good or fun fighter.* Look at Mike Perry, he should’ve been resigned because he had a good following and was very entertaining. Same with Sage Northcutt, and others like Diaz, or Cowboy, or Overeem or Silva etc.
@@zippo_muk9254 half of those guys you named are almost 40 and either retired or on the verge of retiring. It’s not that the UFC doesn’t want to resign then it’s the fact their career is over and no longer should be fighting.
There is NO sport in the WORLD or in any LANGUAGE of the WORLD called "soccer"
This is what happens when you don’t pay your fighters , same thing happened to boxing .
Lmao
@Getbackgang lmao true,who tf is he?lol
@Getbackgang y’all saying who tf is he is all I needed to hear . Sure he isn’t some huge name for casuals. But he’s a guy who’s super entertaining and puts it all on the line every night. You could see the sadness in Dana’s eyes lol . Trust me this will continue to happen , ufc won’t pay its fighters and they will get taking care of somewhere else. Like I said same thing happened to boxing. Use to be only 1 big boxing org that dominated
There is NO sport in the WORLD or in any LANGUAGE of the WORLD called "soccer"
knowing the type of guy Shane is, this genuinely probably brought him to tears, of joy ofcourse. He's such a good kid
Hey, you know the saying, "Show me the money!".
Id say shane will get a streak in the PFL and go back on way better money, so either way he wins
Class act by Dana, I’m sure they might revisit when the time is right
More fighters like Burgos need to jump ship from the UFC. I love to see it
good move by Shane, facing weaker competition for more money
I rather the UFC pay their fighters more so that they don’t have to jump ship and we as fans can get treated to the best fights all on one promotion. Plus, there’s no denying the UFC puts together the best product of all the other promotions.
Also UFC payscale is also based on can you sell ppv's and tickets as well
More fighters need the jumpship or sit back and refuse to fight and unionize it’s only better for the future but it just won’t happen
"we didn't want to spend too much on him because then other fighters on his level would want Fair pay also"
He gets a lot of damages and the more he makes the better for him I wish him all the money in the world. I would never be able to handle getting smashed so he needs more money to retire comfortably
He can’t handle it either that’s why he left haha
WE LOVE SHANE!!!! SHANE CAN BANG he'll take the title at pfl
Never miss a Burgos fight
Hope shane has a successful run in pfl. Good for him.
Shane Burjos 🤣🤣
Lol doesn’t even know his name
💀
SPREAD GLUTES NOT HATE.
He is a good kid 👍🏻
Imagine if PFL becomes more popular than UFC in the future
Gonna miss Burgos!
Dana keeping it real, good man. Goodluck Shane.
Shane said Dana wouldn't match what PFL was offering.
Basically Dana is realizing that the competition is getting closer to paying their fighters the same.
Now I'm thinkimg PFL might be a UFC or Disney company... Lol
Shane said his PFL contract he will make more money in 1 fight than multiple UFC fights.
At age 31 when he don't got the skills to be contender in the UFC
Its no brainer...
@@oror3751 he's in the top 15 how is he not a contender? hate how when a fighter leaves the ufc he's instantly put into this category of people saying "o he couldn't make it in the ufc thats why he left" when he clearly was in the top 15 with more wins than loses in the ufc leaving on a 2 fight win streak

He in not a kid ...he is 31,he in his prime
I was foreal shocked when I heard he didn't resign. I figured the UFC would match whatever any other company would offer him just because he's one of those fighters people love to watch. His style is so crisp and fluid and even when he loses he goes out swinging.
PFL has serious money to throw around. If both UFC and Bellator wouldn't match offers for Kayla, Dana is not going to do it for Burgos.
@@brookhaven86 besides UFC did offer Kayla just as much. She cited different guarantees and timing as to why she didn't sign with the UFC. Kayla said, while not divulging any details that the ufc offered her a contract no other female has been offered before. In their words, a "historic" contract.
This is why fighters should take their time with the UFC get financially stable get some xp and then fight at the top
Yes
The fact Dana didn't even believe he could ever work to be Champ is why leaving was a good decision. PFL is backing him and he even says the pay is better. He feels more appreciated.
The UFC is just so wrong about who they choose to get behind and hype up. It's for all the wrong reasons rather than skill or talent in that cage.
NOOOOOO. SHANE BURGOS WAS SO FUN.
Time to watch PFL.
This is probably the only way that the sport of MMA as a whole will ever become mainstream as opposed to just the UFC being mainstream.
It's a slow drip, and Burgos isn't exactly the last straw. But as more and more of the fighters we love to watch spread out into other organisations, the more people will start to watch those promotions.
Just as an example, can you imagine if Conor, Jones or one of the Diaz bros went to bellator? How many more people you think are gonna be watching bellator because of that?
I think that's the only way this sport is gonna become an actual fair market.
Anyways, peace and love to you bro, and best of luck to Shane in the PFL 😊☮️❤️
Exactly the idea fighters with names bring eyes and fill seats . Ufc generally pay popular fighters or guys who perform
. I think they're also willing let them go if a matched offer sets precedent.
Exactly 💯
Whoever was in charge of negotiating his deal messed up and it made Burgos leave to a better deal with pfl. Dana was upset because he wasn’t secured a resign and most likely would’ve gave Shane more on his contract if he was present, that’s why he said “that was a mistake” and “we f*cked up”
Dana was super nice about Shane. Dude gets way to much hate.
He should not call a 31 years old fighter a kid...the rest is fine
Burgos is making $47O,OOO per fight in PFL plus extra by endorsement so good for Shane
I was wondering like there’s no way he got cut
Good for him because now he signed for 200 thousand a fight with the PFL so he's making way more now
Suga Shane burgos is a badazz fighter
Dana speaking facts 💯 👏🏽
Everyone saying the comments don’t understand what he is saying, but literally every comment I see is confirming they understand what he is saying 🤷🏼♂️
That sucks! Loved watching him fight
A humble Dana 😳
Eagle FC is the best mma organization. The fight event in USA is Awesome
Yall just wait till Shane Burgos's brother comes into the UFC completely different animal
Must be off cycle for uncle Dana looking slim 👀
Amazing move after being gifted his last fight
Yeah i had him losing but was a great fight
Shane obviously always has a home at the ufc
When Shane announced pfl everyone said Dana was gonna degrade him🤣
He left with 2 ws in his last fights. I'll be watching pfl just cos of Shane
Like they would have ever matched PFLs number... If ya wanted him so bad, you should have been paying him more than a small organization could offer.
Good on Dana. Shane is a great entertaining fighter. They'll get him back.
shame man. at least shane as a shot at actually being top 5 in PFL
When did this happen was a fan of Shane
Buros always brings it but Dana's right he most likely won't be champ so go make that money in PFL. People don't realize he earned that contract by fighting in the UFC and getting that exposure.
Shane has all the potential to be a champion, Dana sold the man short. Glad he’s gonna compete in the PFL, I think he could get that 1 million with his style of fighting. Sprawl and Brawl.
I thought Shane is one of the most complete fighters in the ufc. I remember the first time I saw him fight I thought this is the best fighter I have ever seen because I understand martial arts but when I mentioned his name people were like who is that Guy. I was surprised.
I don’t know why some people have it but just can’t bring it all together in the cage. He seems to knock out easily.
Same thing happened to the young Christian lad that was beaten by Babarina - That boy is another complete fighter.
Anyway Wish him all the best.
Looks like it’s back to highlight clips of Shane Burgos sadly
Shane will go higher and get paid more. Glad he left. Go get paid
Pfl must have made a serious contract
Plenty of more fighters will leave now that PFL bought Bellator. They have way more money now.
it’s crazy that you have different mma leagues that will offer ufc fighters way more money than the ufc off course Dana white don’t want his fighters too leave when they contracts are up then he is going too start hating like usual plain and simple.
There was no way the ufc cared about re signing him after his last fight
It's weird how they just let people go, but there is guys like Arlovski boring and overpaid.
Tony too
Nooooooo Shane should fight in UFC :(
But doesn’t want them to make money. Bro is shook as more fighters are leaving the UFC. Finally fighters can make a decent bag
Eagle FC Time
Insurance reasons that weird delayed knockout was cause for concern brain health
All about that paper.
Eh at least he acknowledges they screwed up. Maybe if they didn't pay absolute peanuts he wouldn't look at any other organization
I agree shane is a great fighter to watch. I agree with Dana though. Shane was never going to be a champ. I wish Shane all the best in pfl. I'll still watch him and I hope he has great success. I will miss not seeing him in the ufc.
How can a true fighter like Shane end up leaving an organisation the size of the UFC for financial reasons.
Dana should be embarrassed.
I like guys who make me money
Dana White is realizing that he's going to have competition in a few years and that UFC is fading away slowly because of his cheapness.
Dana looking like he came off the sauce
Definitely
Haters gonna hate but I like Dana
Hecluod be world champ I'd like t seehim and leon scrap it out
THE GUY THAT PRAISES THE LORD.
IS THE REAL WINNER.💯🙌⚘️✝️⚔️🥋☝️AMEN.
they messed up by letting him reach free agency, probably low balling him on the contract like they do everyone. Shane was smart enough to ride it out to free agency and get paid
Dana has had an MMA monopoly for over 20 years..he's had a good run..it's all about the $$ and when you are paying 2004 prize money in 2023 fights..you have to sit back and watch Jake Paul give Nick Diaz more money in one fight (that he lost)than he's ever made in his entire UFC career and say..hmm..maybe I need to up my offers..🤔...naw🤑 business as usual..Jake had his fight the weekend before UFC Nashville boresville..that's why Dana skipped the latest press conference..he didn't want the "what do you think about Jake Paul's prize and ratings vs yours"..
TBF Burgos looked kinda pathetic in his last fight against Jourdain just laying and praying in front of the home crowd
Maybe start paying the fighters good wages!!!!
Can Dane please stop saying that he likes kids 🧒 they’re grown men for god’s sake 😂
It could pass when they are 23-24
not when they are in thier 30s
To Dana they are kids. Dana is on his way to 60 years old. A 20 or 30 year old is a kid to Dana. Early to mid 30s is still a young adult. Still very much in your prime
He wouldn't have left if he paid the fighters what they deserve.
“Do I think Shane Burgos was gonna move up and become champion? No.”
Dana’s bald head must be a crystal ball cause how would he know? Did anyone expect Olives to move up and become champion? No. They sure hyped up Burgos when he was with the UFC, as soon as he’s gone he was never champion material anyway.
Good for Shane, hope he makes bank. Proud of Dana for the well-wishes.
U didnt think charles was gunna be a champion either 5 years ago !! Burgos definitely could have beat any fighter at 145 lbs ! Anything can happen in a fight ! That kid was as good or better then most of the roster at 145 ! Look at that fight with josh emmit he fights that a little smarter and he wins and hes ranked much high rn !
Come on now he's good but he's not beating Volk, Max, Yair, Kattar, Allen Ortega. Lol
@@brookhaven86 in 10 fights against any one of those guys he can win atleast once
@@brookhaven86 and yair and kattar are prolly 50/50 fights imo ! Either way he was still a top 10 guy !
PFL won’t last another 5 years. The initial investment money they have will run out. Any fighter like Burgos better go and win the million before the company dries up.
Not the uploader’s fault but watching a dana white’s interview here is just painful with all the censorship…
Makes no sense how Dana can say he believes Burgos could never be champion, but at the same time says he should’ve never left the UFC?! Pick a side
When did he say that Burgos should have never left?
DAnA wHiTe BaD mAn
@@Opsity when he said they made a mistake losing him listen bro
@@HiiVibeENT Exactly. He's saying THEY made a mistake, not Burgos, and are now missing out on an exciting fighter in the UFC roster.
Dana got caught with his pants down. He is clearly saying the ufc messed up playing hard with Shanes contract.
Burgos is making more money to fight easier competition, it’s a win win for Burgos.
The biggest issue for fighters going to PFL, the audience is minuscule compared to something like the UFC. Having a partnership with ESPN and giant visibility, these guys are building big profiles in the ufc to go and fight in the dark for tons of loot. But they’re losing the visibility and chance to expand on their fanbases.
@@dharmalock5032 Burgos isn’t even active outside of the cage all of his fans he’s earned just though fighting the way he does. If Burgos was an active personality online gaining fans he would have leverage to get the big bucks but he’s just a good fighter which the ufc has plenty of those. UFC is still the place to go if you want to the make the big bucks but the thing is, you have to be earning for the company before they have you earning serous money, that’s why the champs gets paid so much more money.
