So, WHEN would you be able to remove the other 7 in the block? Would it only be after the rest of the puzzle was solved and this shown section was all that was left unsolved??
My question should have been asked more clearly. In the second example with the block with the fin, you only consider the two 7s in R4 as being possibly the "real" 7. How do you know the 7 in R6 is not the "real" 7?

You are removing bottom seven in the isolated square in both scenario but can't the bottom seven itself be true as a 3rd scenario?
Please give the min/sec you are referring to.
So, WHEN would you be able to remove the other 7 in the block? Would it only be after the rest of the puzzle was solved and this shown section was all that was left unsolved??
Please give the min in the video you are referring to.
Thank you for the tutorial. I learned something new today
Thanks Thomas. I'l learning as well everyday. Nothing like practice eh! I'm alwasy finding new ticks and love to share them.
How do we know whether the fin is true or x wing is true ?
How to eliminate the fin or x wing?
Good question. So much depends on what happens in the rest of the puzzle.
So much depends on this. I'm sorry I didn't make this clear.
Can there be more than one fin in a house?
Yes but they are rare. I am assuming you mean by a house is what I call a block. Robin
In the bloc with the fin, how do you eliminate the 7 at 6-1 as a possibility ?
You are right . It could have been removed.
My question should have been asked more clearly. In the second example with the block with the fin, you only consider the two 7s in R4 as being possibly the "real" 7. How do you know the 7 in R6 is not the "real" 7?
Thank you for your explanation

This is the best
Gee thanks
I confess to being a bit puzzled by the concept. Is this not a variation of the 3 by 3 version of the X-Wing. Can't remember what it is called.
Not sure. Sorry I'm not familiar with the 3X3 version of an Xwing.
Swordfish pattern is 3*3 X-Wing. Full 3-3-3 version is very rare. 2-2-2 is common to find.
