Heart disease is a very broad term. I think most people who think of heart disease think of
heart attacks or coronary artery disease, and that certainly is the most common form of heart disease. But it's certainly much broader than that.
It includes things such as diseases at the heart muscle, or heart failure where the heart doesn't either contract or relax normally. It includes valve diseases, diseases of the electrical system of the heart, and even diseases of the lining of the heart.
I think most people associate chest pain, chest pressure or chest discomfort as a sign of heart disease. That certainly is the most common symptom that we see in patients who present with coronary artery disease or heart disease. But it's broader than that. We know that many other symptoms can be a sign of heart disease. These include breathlessness, shortness of breath, the inability to do exercises that someone could once do quite easily, fatigue even, patients who come in with rapid heartbeats, swelling in the ankles, really just a change in their ability to do their routine activities.
Heart disease is really a complex condition that can be caused by many factors. Of course, coronary artery disease, which is a buildup of plaque in the heart arteries. It can be caused by high cholesterol, high blood pressure, being overweight, smoking, not being active. Genetics can play a role as well.
We know that treating those conditions not only helps patients with established heart disease, but helps prevent coronary artery disease from ever forming in the first place. When patients come in with new symptoms that are concerning for heart disease, not only can they see us in various locations, but they have access to the advanced diagnostic testing that they may need.

I've been feeling chest pain, heart beating too fast and sometimes shortness of breath. But I don't know if it is something wrong with my heart or just anxiety/panic. I'm also hypochondriac and not been able to go to the hospital because of covid is making me go crazy with my self diagnoses

March 26, 2019 the day of my heart attack discharge March 29, 2019, 70% blockage right coronary artery. for the past two years, I've been feeling a lot of pain in my heart like pressure/squeezing and it never stopped, and it gets worse when I try physical activity. Last time I went to the beach and swam a little my heart hurt so much It felt like dying I got out of the water to go seek help and my heart was beating so fast that I couldn't even stand on my feet I literally fell twice to the ground on my way home. If your symptoms continue you should see a doctor and have tests done. My former roommate was on vacation with his family when his brother said he had severe abdominal pains. His parents didn't believe him until the pain got so bad he started screaming. Turned out his appendix had ruptured right before he had emergency surgery. The doctors said he was lucky he didn't die. Always address health issues and don't be afraid to get a second opinion

My heart keeps beating fast then slow and i had back pain in my right bottom side
EVERY single night for a few months now, I get palpitations, racing heart out of nowhere and sometimes light pressure/squeezing inside my chest on the left side. Some nights I get them all, some nights I either get palpitations or a short period of random increases heart rate at rest. During exercise I feel no chest discomfort, only at rest. But I am scared and panic at the slightest change in my body because I’ve had panic attacks before. I’ve had an ECG and 24 hour tape and it’s been months and haven’t heard anything. Should I be worried?

Hello been diagnosed with heart disease iam 40 years old now it started ten years ago being diagnosed for 4 years they gave me all tests etc said we need to keep eye have rare disease were my heart will just stop. But just seem to be left keep ringing asking for check up. How often should they be checking on me. Am one of those people were a feel a burden on health services keep pestering them. I'm scared to death that I have something wrong with my heart. I'm 24 and I have been having weird symptoms like when I sleep I get woken up every time by my heart beating so hard and pretty fast. OMG I'm having the same symptoms. Went to ICU. The doctor said that my blood was perfect (sugar, cholesterol, etc). The electrocardiogram and x-ray showed I had nothing.
He said that it is panick attack due to stress (thank you pandemic). I still have those episodes and make me really uncomfortable: palpitations, lightheadedness, left cold hand, breathlessness.
I took lorazepam (.125 g) and it really helped for 2 days.
I started walking and dancing (at home using ps4 just dance) and it's also helping a lot.

Heart attacks are not always super serious, if it’s a little Heart attack you can cure it at home. You can cure a heat attack at home by drinking water, relax, vomit, breathing exercises, watch asmr, try staying calm, don’t drink soda for a few days, don’t stress or panic because that can worsen it. Bad advice. I had a heart attack and didn’t go to the ER immediately because I didn’t know it was a heart attack. 6 months have passed and now I currently have an arrythmia, can’t drink caffeine, can’t smoke marijuana, am on beta- blockers. And the doctor’s still can’t figure out the cause of my symptoms all because I never went in to get checked when I should have. I could have prevented this from getting worse but I kept brushing it off because I didn’t believe this would happen to me at 27 years old.

Omg last night while I was sleeping, out of the blue my heart started racing super fast and idk if it was bc I got a bit scared it raced even faster in seconds I felt dizzy at the same time but then I jumped and opened my eyes it was gone.

I am scared because my mum got chest pains and took the day off work and her mum had history of heart problems please help i am really scared i cant focus in school. i dont get it because my mum is very healthy she never smoke never drink only wine on special occasions amd shes in the airforce she does a lot excerise we swim 3 day a week. pls i rlly scared i am very worried pls help
