I wonder if using the tazer mini to tell the BCM that you have the standard incandescent taillights if you would still have the bulb out warning? Just a thought!
LOL - I wish. I have a Tazer Mini and it didn't work and yes, I know how to use it and how it should be set for LED tail lights. As I mention in the video, the problem is most likely due to the resistors. Something I still need to try and remove.
@@wayalife I figured as much. Knew you had it and I had little doubt that you tried it, must be the resistor then. So I would imagine cutting it out and crimping a butt connector on is the ticket? Always love your content! Hope you are enjoying those 42's!
I think the load equalizing resistor is causing your bulb out issue. The CAN-BUS is looking for low resistance led's. The resistor is there for upgrading the base halogen's and need the it to read the proper load. I'd just shunt around it for a quick test, before removing it completely.

Yup, just one screw. That's it :) Regarding a comparison video, that's a tough one if only because there really is no comparison. First off, ride quality is 100% subjective. Second, not all coilover kits are made the same. Third, coilovers are not only a lot more expensive, they require regular maintenance making them even more expensive. But, if you have a good kit and everything is dialed in, they are far superior to a standard coil and shock in terms of performance, comfort and flex. Ok i see there was a plate with the new one , what did you do with it ? 2nd i went on amazon it says 2nd generation and regular one , what is the difference ?
The plate was to let you mount the resistor somewhere on your Jeep. I just zip tied the wires so that the resistor hangs below the light housing. Not so that it can swing around but so that it didn't need to be mounted. Not sure what the differences are.
@@wayalife Thanks. I think I will roll the dice. Lol If they don't work with the cages I guess I'll give them to my sister. She has a Gladiator. Thanks again for the response and the informative vids. Keep it up!
Do you find the lamps to be at all dimmer than non-blackout versions? That's usually what I see on full sized trucks around my city and it makes them more difficult to see during bright afternoons. How do these fare?
So, I would say that the overall quality isn't too bad. The plastic housing isn't as durable feeling as factory though. Otherwise, the wiring, lens and actual lights look pretty good.

I don't think so. JL only.
@@wayalife okay thank you!
Blacked out tail lights look best on White jeeps IMO. No info on there site so an email has been sent about a future product for the JT. You mentioned the resistors but will a taser fix this as well? Great video as always hope to see you both out on the trail one day. 🇺🇸
Tried the Tazer and it didn't fix it. I think I need to remove the resistors and then try again using the Tazer instructions for aftermarket LED lights.
I recently purchased a set of identical lights for my 2024 Wrangler JLU, and I'm encountering the same error message. Do you have any updates on this?

@@wayalife Thank you very much for answering me! This is great news!
Did you remove the resistors by chance? I didn't buy the LED package and can change the setup with the JLTazer to reflect the LED package. Wasn't for sure if you did remove the resistors, what was your method?
Thanks,

These are great! Ive been wanting to replace my halogens for shine thin like these. Do you know if they’re available yet or when will they be available /pricing?
Unfortunately, I don't know much about them other than the fact that they showed up on my doorstep. I would contact Vic Offroad for more information. Please let me know that you heard about their lights from WAYALIFE :)
Just got a link from Vic Offroad amzn.to/3CyPeXI
Ok i see there was a plate with the new one , what did you do with it ?
2nd i went on amazon it says 2nd generation and regular one , what is the difference ?
The plate was to let you mount the resistor somewhere on your Jeep. I just zip tied the wires so that the resistor hangs below the light housing. Not so that it can swing around but so that it didn't need to be mounted. Not sure what the differences are.
Does anyone know if these will work with Rugged Ridge Elite Tail Light Guards?
Can't say for sure but these are essentially the exact same shape and bolt up as factory.
@@wayalife Thanks. I think I will roll the dice. Lol If they don't work with the cages I guess I'll give them to my sister. She has a Gladiator. Thanks again for the response and the informative vids. Keep it up!
Did u figure out how to fix that fault (taillights out)? I replaced my fender lights and i got the same message and dunno how to solve it honestly
Yup, this ua-cam.com/video/tISJN_QGM_0/v-deo.html
Do you find the lamps to be at all dimmer than non-blackout versions? That's usually what I see on full sized trucks around my city and it makes them more difficult to see during bright afternoons. How do these fare?
Yes, they are slightly dimmer
Thats a beautiful jeep, what size lift and tires are on it?
We've got our EVO coilovers set to about 3.5" of lift and running 38" Nitto Ridge Grapplers.
The blackout lights look better than the factory red.
Cool - glad you like what you see.
How well do the reverse lights work, are they reasonably sufficient for night time use?
Honestly, I'd say they're about as good as stock. But then, I'm not really that impressed with stock.
Awesome video.. how would you rathe the quality? I’m always nervous about buying after market lights as there always seems to be issues with them.
So, I would say that the overall quality isn't too bad. The plastic housing isn't as durable feeling as factory though. Otherwise, the wiring, lens and actual lights look pretty good.
Where’s your shop located?
