The robots are taking over everything! LOL!
My sons grew up with these two discs, Animusic 1 and 2. There was supposed to be a third, but it’s not happened.
My youngest has transcribed a few of these (out of 15), all by ear note for note, which he then reworks with instrument samples he’s recorded. For example, he records old broken down pianos, one note at a time, brings them into FL studio to build a full 88-key “sound font,” then applies it to the MIDI file he’s created. So this track can sound like an old honky-tonk piano, bagpipes or the horn from our Kia Soul. Quite remarkable stuff. Unfortunately he’s extremely private about it and does not like to share. I have to beg to get a sample to play for folks.
I have the animusic DVDs and they are great. My favorite one is from the same one as this one, it's called "Heavy Light" and it's very cool. Super prog song. You'll like it.
Love this direction. And there are a host of these, each vastly different, and some with music by ELP...playing seemingly infinite drums, as I recall. It, like OK-Go, qualifies as wondrous in my book of definitions.
The creator Wayne said Dream Theater was his favorite band. Saw him on PBS promotion for this dvd

Animusic isn't AI. The music is written and played by humans like the other bands you mentioned. Their playing triggers the computer graphics. Animusic has some other really good pieces that look very realistic.

2005 I first seen it on PBS channel 6 and I was amazed by the graphics and the Awesome music 🎵🎶 Heavy Light is my Mega favorite but both volumes are Amazing
