He's soooo profound! Why do low IQ athletes and hedge funders flock to auctions of his work? What does volume say about an artist that finishes 50,000 paintings, 1000 sculptures, 12,000 drawings, 3000 ceramics etcetera? Don't listen to a word of the dilettantes and experts alike who to seem cultured, to seem hip, to seem knowledgeable "dig in" with the profound descriptions of Picasso's profundity. Let's cut the crap; most of Picasso's work is absolute garbage. The dude completed 8 works of art a day. No kidding there's going to be a gem or two after 60 years of inexorable machine like production. So "how to understand Picasso" is simple: realize he just wasn't that good and stop looking for what's not there and what's not there was not by design but because there was never a whole lot there to begin with folks.

I think he's a wonderful painter, but then I know nothing.

Hi, I can't help thinking in that direction. Of course he was great painter for decades but then for other decades there seems to be a lot of nonsense. And yes, those who own, expose and wrote books about him will always tell a great story but I see what I see....and I don't see any of what the lady is telling us here.

@@soyuntioconmuchasuerte1838 Its totally fine to feel that way and don't feel bad about it, but I think there's definitely beauty to this painting. If not for nothing just because of the out there style Picassos synonymous with. And I certainly feel your opinion on some but I absolutely love this work.
