To uncover them, you must understand the origins of kendo and what is being practiced by people in Daito-ryu. Ono-ha itto ryu and Mugen Shinto Iaijutsu Both kendo and iaido can be considered standardized versions of older schools such as those. Yet we know little about Morihei Ueshiba having a document of any type of kenjutsu/iaijutsu/jojutsu training. The same goes for Saito, which is known to have practiced some kendo.
