Joyce DiDonato sings Sister Helen’s Act I aria from Jake Heggie’s opera in the final dress rehearsal. Production: Ivo van Hove. Conductor: Yannick Nézet-Séguin. 2023-24 season.
How so? I just saw this in NYC. They changed the names from the real-life memoir afaik, and the angle of the victims' parents is brought up in a raw way.
This singer - Joyce Di Donato - is for me - vocally, dramatically - among the great singers of our time.
Marvelous, Marvelous, Joyce The Great Mezzo Ever!!!!
This is so beautifully timeless. It should certainly influence how we can all look back on the movie.
Joyce is an ARTIST.
She's wonderful. The voice is marvelous, but it's more than that. She gets inside the human predicament and shares it as part of our own journeys..
INCREDIBLE!
Wonderful Joyce!❤
What a privilege to live in the time of JDD
Beautiful conversion to the conversation, Joyce Di'Donato.
Can't wait to see live! xoxo
I am not religious, but the word “Amen” is a powerful word signaling a revelation or a resolution.

Vibrato faster than my desire to leave the theater
Isn’t it great when a piece of art re-victimizes the victims families?!
How so? I just saw this in NYC. They changed the names from the real-life memoir afaik, and the angle of the victims' parents is brought up in a raw way.
JDD is very good here. However, the musical idiom points in the direction of Broadway.
Opera is musical theatre. Cope.
@@campbellcubing2965 Well, yes, Opera is indeed musical theater. But what Opera is not is a Broadway show.
Und?
@@doGreatartistsgrowontreesThis doesn't sound anything like a Broadway show.
Could you provide a musical theatre example of something that sounds similar?
