The entire encounter with Thanos was DnD. Star Lord makes the plan. Then everybody roleplays their character. Drax the barbarian goes full on attack. Mantis wants to help Drax. Gamora know she needs that distraction to get close to Thanos. Then cool RP about Thanos being a dad and Starlord being a boyfriend.
I feel like this next gen of Marvel Films are written to get plot points across rather than take the DnD approach. The original fight between Thor, Iron Man and Captain America felt like a few amateur DnD players but played out way better than expected because of the budget.

the 5e phb says this about tieflings skin: "Their skin tones cover the full range of human coloration, but also include various shades of red." technically all those blue, green, purple etc tieflings are more innacurate than the one in the movie, the tiefling looks great, people complain too much.

Everyone seems to forget that HP doesn't just represent physical health. It's also things like the amount of luck and stamina a player has left before they can't avoid a mortal wound anymore. I think the Sorcerer is casting Magic Missile because it's an iconic spell, and it misses because it makes for a more dramatic shot for the movie.

5:28 Almost positive that dragon is an animated statue as you can see a statue that looks just like it for a moment earlier in the trailer. They're running past it at 1:18 and it seems like they're in the same or similar location when they're looking at the animated version.
2:04 The snowy areas were confirmed in an interview with Chris Perkins to be Icewind Dale. The writer/directors were actually planning this movie while Rime of the Frostmaiden was being developed and they needed a prison. The game designers couldn't find any existing prisons that fit what the directors wanted, so they created one and placed it in Icewind Dale and it was added to the Rime of the Frostmaiden module before release.
I have no doubts this movie will be entertaining, especially for people who play D&D. My only hope is that they don't rely too much on needless exposition and give their audience the benefit of the doubt.

Honestly Rege seems to be the most educated on the game and he says he's never actually played, having grown up playing CRPGs instead. It's confirmed to be set in the Forgotten Realms. Waterdeep, Neverwinter, and Icewind Dale are confirmed locals. It looked like part of it was in the Underdark, but we didn't see any Drow yet. The producers said that there will be a few character cameos, but naturally didn't say who. If we see an on screen Drizzt or Bruenor I'm going to flip my shit. Hell I'd even settle for Cadderly. We don't know what point after Neverwinter was constructed it is in the timeline.

Or if not that, I could definitely see one of the more magical fantastical subclasses being featured; it’s the epitome of fantasy, we might even see something crazy like a Way of the 4 Elements/Sun Soul Monk who didn’t regret their choice of subclass

I hope this movie does well. And I hope I love Sophie's Tiefling Druid. I just wish we would have gotten a more demonic looking Tiefling because the party just looks like a bunch of humans. Which, in a campaign, can be an interesting plot driver and have some interesting consequences. On screen, it looks like a medieval movie set in Faerun. Maybe the two writers played third edition. S yes, we'd get the subtle Tiefling. But she just reminds me of Vex a bit too much.

This isn't a problem with Wildshape so much as it's a problem with how monsters are classified. There are too many categories, and their differences are too arbitrary. I see no reason why a Darkling is a fae and a Hobgoblin in a humanoid in the same region of the Feywild in the same module.
Instead of just allowing every Druid to access monstrosities, maybe make it a feat or a magic item function. Then you don't have to worry about a thousand NPC Druids doing the same.
