Just wanted to say, man...I'm US Navy, here working on a Marine base in Yuma, AZ and even though I roll my sleeves a bit different than you, I watch your video every Monday morning when I'm rolling mine....I love the non-talking; you just go and get the job done...very relaxing and theraputic...like a game of golf, or turning a record over to side "B." Thanks for the weekly motivation....!
try asmr mate, not that weird shit though. There’s stuff just like this meant to calm, relax, and even make you sleep. It changed my life. When i’m in the field i use it too.
Hey, since you used to be in US Navy as a sailor and worked at the Marine base In Yuma, AZ. What was your mos/rate when you work at Yuma? Because I want to be in the US Navy and work closely with the US Marines. If you don’t mind me asking
@@jacobbailey4810 I was a PS aka Admin/Pencil Pusher. Before that a QM. To work closely with the Marines, a medical corpsman (HM) or a RP (Admin for the religious Officer) would be your best bet. I'm not in any branch myself, but I typically wear older BDUs as work clothes while truck driving. After watching this, I could at least do my thing in the 100 degree heat while making sure my clothes don't look like complete crap at the same time. Thanks for the tutorial and of course your service.
I was Navy MAA 3 in 2002.. was wearing BDUs.. I saw your rating patch indicating ‘Naval Police’ same as mine.. I never learned to do my sleeves properly ..thanks Shipmate. ⚓ Bravo Zulu.
Im in army school and summer is comming and I just wanted to look good with rolled up sleeves instead of civilian type of rolled up sleeves. Watching this video helps me with achieving that.
Marines 98-2005 and we never rolled our sleeves this way. You can get tight rolled sleeves in the same amount of time without the extra steps. It would only be a better way to roll sleeves if it saved time to get the tight roll and not have the "Gunny roll"
In Canada it is against regs to iron the cadpat operational uniforms because it screws the IR coating on the uniform. It makes it much easier to roll the arms too because there is no need of an iron.
@bmacz31 Nah bmac Navy rolls their so the white is in, the last fold is the cuff over the white its so in case of fire.. or so they say... we can pull the cuff down for full length sleeve or arm coverage. Or I should say on our nwu, not sure with bdu so you may be correct on that account.
@bmacz31 Nah bmac Navy rolls their so the white is in, the last fold is the cuff over the white its so in case of fire.. or so they say... we can pull the cuff down for full length sleeve or arm coverage.
@xxTIGER43xx the marines don't use bdus anymore. they've switched over to acus. the digital camo. i believe that the navy also uses acus. the only branch to actively use the bdus is the usaf. won't be long before they also switch to acus
@phatQQQ No when army had BDU you rolled them up with the button and camo outside out, navy and marines roll them outside in, well not marines anymore, and Air force is sleeves down always, CG same as old army BDU.
@crankingsteve1 recommended that you do iron after every step. It ain't required, but it is that much sharper looking. Even if you roll them with the cuff showing, like me.
if you are in the army and you did it like this you are shit out of luck LOL. this is the way the navy/marine corps do it. the army rolls their sleeves different. the army rolls have the camoflauge on the outside where as the navy/marine corps has the inside showing outward. i've been out for a long time now. i don't even know if the navy (seabees in my case) still wear the CUU's or if they went to something else. one thing i am absolutely certain of is that this particular uniform the navy and marine corps roll their sleeves the same, but opposite of the army. airforce i have no idea what they do and could care less LOL
what? no way, i don't believe that for a minute! TAO LIU i have to see it to believe it. NAVY doesn't do anything like the army. navy / marine corps are an entegral team and always have been. sheesh... the day the navy starts operating anything like the army you might as well kiss our nation's ability to project power BYE BYE lol...
Robert Lowe I mean, if you don't believe me, just good image 'navy rolled sleeves' or something. If that still doesn't persuade you, look up their uniform regs.
i don't keep up with the military anymore. not worth my time. my time in the military is long gone. too many changes. i wouldn't do it again. not in this day in age. we had problems back in my day. today the issues i hear about amuse the hell out of me. all these rape cases? is that what they call sexual harrassment claims now - rape? i remember the fiasco after TAIL HOOK. today? oh gosh, now you gonna have trans harrassment LOL. this is going to get good. the uniform changes are the least of my concern.
@TBKSLyCooPeR It usually depends on the season. For example, during the summer, you're usually going to have your sleeves rolled. And in the winter, down. But sometimes, depending on the situation, your command will make you do something different.
Yeah Master at Arms! Get some! I tried doing this here at Corps school only to muster the next day and have my platoon LPO tell us to drop our sleeves because someone showed up with them down. Never again.
In the AF, we roll the cuff of our sleeves back over the thick part to make the uniform a uniform color instead of the ends of the sleeves being much lighter than the rest of the uniform. Just sayin. It looks better.
ahhh i remember those days. ironing a crease in my bdu's. rolling up the sleeves cuz its hot as hell. we rolled ours different in the air force tho. but thats def how marines and navy rolled theirs...
@Grim01Reaper1989 yeh true i totally forgot about the seabees, I have way too many uniforms, thats the downside about being an HM, i have the navy's new aquaflouge (NWU) and the marines marpats
@TBKSLyCooPeR It depends on what your command wants you to wear. Sometimes they want you to have your sleeves rolled, sometimes they don't. You don't get to choose what you want to wear. lol
@ArmyofUglyAnon is it because they have 300 pockets ur not aloud to use? well they have the spiffy little pen holders and thats about all you can get away with using.
Dr. Skell yes we roll our sleeves in AFJROTC. We have ABUs (idk wat your school has) and it's harder to roll them up. I'm about to start my Third year in Air Force JROTC so if you have any questions you can contact me on instagram @maggie.culley :)
@Pimp3ter ok. but do they have to be tight? or can they be like in the video? i tried it like the video and it looks good and comfortable. i dont like tight.
Awesome. I'm an MA and I used to wear that uniform. I wear desert cammies now, but I'll be wearig that unifomr again soon. Your sleeves look sharp as fuck shipmate.
What time of the year do marines roll their sleeves? Can they roll the like the in the video? Or the other way which makes them very tight and uncomfortable.
If one of my Marines ever used this meathod, I would give them an UNSAT on an inspection for improper care and cleaning and also those sleeves are not rolled properly as they can not be unrolled easily. You also took 10 times longer to do it this way than the proper way.
@Namikaze1230 i can read, thank you for the heads up. but after reading the policy that the Commandant released, i left a comment expressing my mild objection to the new restriction, on a video that demonstrates how to roll sleeves, which is no longer within policy boundaries.
@xXMoshxTilxDeathXx thank you! finally someone realizes that. my dad was in the air force for 4 years and i want to join the navy, and all he keeps saying is how low of pay that they get. i said to him, they dont care what they get paid.

Wow that serious ironing! I haven't use one in 35 years! Good job. Ooh... I don't intend to start ironing ever lol😁
@chrissjg
It's because the Navy and USMC roll their sleeves the correct way. Army and Air Force just slop their sleeves up any way they feel like,
Marines 98-2005 and we never rolled our sleeves this way. You can get tight rolled sleeves in the same amount of time without the extra steps. It would only be a better way to roll sleeves if it saved time to get the tight roll and not have the "Gunny roll"
great sleeves sir. im a young marine and this video help alot.
Did you re-enlist?
Your sergeant 5 minutes before morning formation: 'Listen up men, the captain said we have to roll down our sleeves for formation'
Thanks. I bought a BDU from a surplus storenear me, but I live in texas so it's damn hot. It has been over 100 degrees every day for the past 6 weeks.

been there done that lol but ya what wing are you??
How does Delta Force roll their sleeves??
Learning for MCJROTC
what school?
Yeah me too
Dude is so squared away he went full circle!
CAP doesn't do it they exact same way as in the video. the last step involves the outer fabric of the sleeve is pulled over the under.
are you in a military police unit ? i couldnt help but notice the police badge on the left breast pocket
Do you have to iron it after every step? Or can you just fold it without ironing it?
ironing makes it look better
