Beautiful ! Just have never seen a moss stitch like this so was a little confused when it was done completely different than what I know as a moss stitch. ♥️
In 3 days I have now made 7 of these! 2 with the original variegated cotton, 2 with a peach and white, 2 with sea glass color and white and a tan and white. The doubles one is white and color and the other 2 strands of color. I love these!
Thank you for your fast respons, that whas verry helpful thank you so much i hope you wil make lots of hot pads with lot of beautiful stichs i lookt too your vidio's but a whant somethink like this . Greating paula from the nederlands
This is a awsome craft fair project. I do craft fairs. I am doing the shell washcloth. I love that pattern and it goes so fast. This is the next one on my list. Tfs jen in south dakota.
Could you use this technique on a throw blanket? I got some Red Heart yarn, soft. Not sure at all of how many chains to start out with. New at this but like the stitch. Thank you for doing this helpful tutorial.
I made 3 of the hot pads i love this stich so much beautiful, and thank you for the time too make those vidio's, but a whant a bigger one in between size do you no a starding nummer is 24 singel crochet or 26 do you have a ride nummer i hope you can help me thank you paula from the nederlands
Did you rewind into two separate balls? May be a dumb question but I tried two strands of yarn on a different project a couple years ago and had an awful time with it! Just wondering what you found the easiest way to crochet with 2 strands.
I know I'm a nerd, but *yay* I really can't wait to make these! I gotta go to Hobby Lobby now. I can disagree with their politics (that no on 8 thing 😤) But I like a deal. Mahalo 🤙
Because these are thicker, the hot pads would be used for resting hot pots and pans on. For dishcloths, those would be made with a single layer and would be used to wash dishes or wipe down surfaces.
@@valeriehofmann2615 maybe try a different cotton yarn? I know some are a little more stuff than others. You can also try and go up a hook size too if you’re finding it difficult to crochet with two strands together.
Do you mean the tail that you weave in? I usually give myself about 5 inches or so before I make my slip knot. That way I can easily weave it into my project.
Moss stitch looks like garden/woodland moss! What's up with so many patterns calling the moss stitch a SC, CH1 repeat? That ends up looking like a knit or woven stitch to me.
If you’d like to change colors, feel free. You will make your last stitch but instead of completing it with the current color, you will yarn over with the new color. Be sure to keep a tail to weave in your ends.

I’ve seen a few variations on this stitch, so I understand the confusion. It’s fun to work up though 🧶
Love this! Just whipped one up with white cotton and a variegated green and yellow!

I actually have a similar tutorial on a blanket for this stitch. You can check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/Whu_NH8uWjI/v-deo.html
Neat pattern. I like the color also.

Thanks for watching! If you want to change the size, you want your chain to be an even number. I would try 26 chains. 😊
Very lovely!
Thank you! 😊
Did you rewind into two separate balls? May be a dumb question but I tried two strands of yarn on a different project a couple years ago and had an awful time with it! Just wondering what you found the easiest way to crochet with 2 strands.
I found it easiest to pull from the center of two skeins. That way the skeins stay out and don’t roll all over the place 😊
I know I'm a nerd, but *yay* I really can't wait to make these! I gotta go to Hobby Lobby now.

Glad you like this pattern! Enjoy!
Love it
I’m glad to hear!
What would be the difference between using as a hot pad and dishcloth??
Because these are thicker, the hot pads would be used for resting hot pots and pans on. For dishcloths, those would be made with a single layer and would be used to wash dishes or wipe down surfaces.
Thank you Amanda‼️
Does it take the whole 2 skeins? Or half of each?
I would say about half of each skein.
Tried it last night but the cotton yarn didn't glide very well. :(

How long are your 2 strands you start out with?

@AmandaCrochets Sorry...no I mean your are using 2 strings of yarn...so how do I know how much to use? Or am I just using to balls of yarn?
@@tarapenuel9538 ah I understand. Yes, I am using two different skeins of yarn to get the thickness for this hot pad.
@@AmandaCrochets thank you
Love this pattern, but I have a question. What is the brand name of the crochet hook that you are using?
Thanks! I am using clover amour hooks. I have a link in the description box below if you wanted to check them out. They’re really comfortable 😊🧶
Moss stitch looks like garden/woodland moss! What's up with so many patterns calling the moss stitch a SC, CH1 repeat? That ends up looking like a knit or woven stitch to me.
It can be confusing when stitches are called numerous names.
This is the Even moss stitch...very confusing but I just spent a decent amount of time googling so I could figure this out myself lol
Changing colors?
