I did it for both seats, one at a time (with ignition off / no keys): no warning light after. Be careful to plug the harness into the right hole when putting it back, otherwise the cable might block seat while moving it backward or forward.
Thank's On my vehicle, I noticed wiring hanging down under both front seats, with a plastic frame, they did not appear to be clipped/fixed under the seats, as expected. I note from your video that the wiring harness just hangs loose under the seats. I was concered that rear passengers feet may catch & damage the wiring, but it seems that this is the way it is.
So disconnecting the battery and keeping keys away from ignition won’t trip the airbag light after you’ve reinstalled them or replaced them with another seat?
Hello, I want to replace the passenger seat in my Polo 6R Comfortline 4 cylinder 1.4 85 hp from 2010 with a seat that can be folded completely flat. This while retaining the airbag function and the same plugs under the seat. Does anyone know which (VW) seats are suitable for this? Volkswagen seats from later Polo versions or other Volkswagen or non-Volkswagen seats? Any useful information regarding this subject is welcome. Harry
Thanks! I'm gunna try this now!

So disconnecting the battery and keeping keys away from ignition won’t trip the airbag light after you’ve reinstalled them or replaced them with another seat?
It shouldn't do, no, but to be sure it's always best to disconnect the battery.

Does the airbag light come on if you turn the car on without seat in
Yes it will
Will try this out I have many penny's stuck on the side of the seats 😆
Can I remove the seat and then, with the seat removed, attach the battery, and turn on the ignition without tripping the airbags?
The airbags won’t be tripped but it will trigger the airbag fault light.
Was very helpful thannks
Glad to help Shahied!
Solid video
Thank you!
What is the key to disassembling the seats?
- Replace them by other seats
- Clean them thoroughly (i.e. you can let them dry more easily)
- Clean all the dirt underneath, on the carpet
Well in a few days I'm gonna find out whether Sparcos are gonna fit in. Hoping the best
Edit: they didn't
I was about to ask then I saw the edit!
Thanks mate.
