- Best part of van life (or now that I'm overland life) is I get to meet amazing people like Ellie, but more important Moose (her cat). They both seek many adventures together so go follow along their journey as they will always adventure.

Jarrod, if a newbie hits the road, how do they find other full time nomads? Are there certain places that nomads tend to frequent such as BLM campgrounds?
@@Anne--Marie you can also try using the vanlife app and turn on location. It takes some time to find others but social media like instagram and Facebook groups too. When things open back up try and go to gatherings and festivals. Gatherings typically aren't open to public so you get to camp for a few days with several other nomads. Camping too like you said is a way but people tend to keep to themselves out there

I have to agree. I really wanted a 4 wheel drive truck camper, but having to exit the vehicle to get into the cab was a deal breaker for me.
Yes my forthcoming build requires I am able to drive away from the living space as I'll be working alone far from home in it

Of all the female solo van lifers Elllie seems to be the most approachable. She gave a great tour. Not so sure about the front being closed off from the back. Eliminates a quick getaway.

@@hugoprice44 Exactly, as a woman in general we learn not to seem approachable for safety reasons, now imagine being a solo traveler...why would you try to seem approachable?

I love cats but 3 cats in the small space of a van sounds like the smell would become overwhelming. Even though we can get used to our pet smells, to others they can be overpowering.
Nice to see cat owners in the van life. I have two and will definitely need tips for keeping them happy and healthy. Emily and Satchmo are 10 now. Very nice use of space and teal is also my favourite colour. Thanks for the tour!
I think this is my favorite van build and interview I’ve seen. Her van is beautiful and she is super knowledgeable and friendly. AND she loves cats! I never bothered with Instagram but - looks like that’s going to have to change if I want to find out what she and Moose are up to!!

Ellie just hit the ding dong or light bulb moment for me... All the ideas I wanted in my van except for wanting an additional shower inside she just nailed. I love her design. Definitely will give her a follow

Carry a 20lb propane tank that's easy to fill occasionally. Then refill your little cans from that as you go. Just need a little adapter. Makes things a lot more convenient and less expensive.

This is the only van that doesn't make me cringe. I am claustrophobic and van builds are really closed in and generally depressing. This one is nice, practical and open. Like the mirrors and sunroof.very cheery.
Just found your channel and want to say that as a woman who is into this lifestyle, you give off really nice vibes. I don't think enough dudes think of how being in a confined space with a new dude can make you nervous - especially solo travelling. My cat's name is Moose also. Never thought I would hear of another cat with that name. Amazing! Thinking about building a van. Don't know if Moose will come along; she doesn't like riding in the car, but a van might be different.
Cats are very adaptable! You just need to give them lots of time, then it's no problem. There's a few GREAT videos out there of exactly how to get a cat used to vanlife. You and Moose can do it!
Great little van and fab adventure cat! Fantastic that Ellie did most of it herself. Think she missed a trick not having an opening skylight for airflow. Hope they both have years of happy travels in the Caboose. Thanks for the tour, Jarod. Hope you enjoyed your trip to the brewery!

The van is amazing and I'd love to travel solo with my cat, but dude I would never trade the safety of being able to drive without needing going out for counter space. As a single woman I never rent any apartment in the lower floor or take a cab without send my location, safety always comes first

Need to see the cat pan/food solutions (really anyone with a pet) There are many of us with pets that are not dogs looking to do this.
The women who has fought for women's rights have not wasted their time. Look at the smart independent young women we now have in America doing their own thing! I am glad I lived long enough to see the dream of these young women become realized.

Gorgeous...love this Van its Stealth looks just looks like Reg Van from outside. Looks spacious inside luv the tiles in the Kitchen. The shower out doors simplistic toilet.

I really liked her setup. Only change would be access from the front, even if with just a flip up counter or a the door cut in half where you only can use the top or bottom portion. Moose is a real cutie!!!

I too am only 5 ft. Tall. I love the bed like that. I also had a moon roof and loved it. It does give so much light. I never regretted it. I loved looking out at the stars! I like having the kitchen with the sink where it is. I agree it's a tradeoff but the room and the look of a real space not just along each side sells me! The shower setup is great too. For a van it's perfect. I had a racer but switched to mtn. Bike. Never looked back. What s difference it made. I went thru high grass, over small logs, rough roads....You could carry moose on your back or in the front in a pouch....go mode! I love teal/black. The cherry wood is fantastic. I would switch of panels.....cover them. It will freshen up like say change of seasons? Or a tapestry. Great potential girl! I love the posibilities.
You can buy the adaptor and stand to fill the 1 pound tanks. I have a 20 pound tank I turn upside down and fill the 1 pound tanks from it.

Really nice home she has there. Its looking like I'll be living in my Jeep by the spring so I'm really grateful to have a window into what it will be like in mobile lifestyle. I've got a 1990 jeep I'm taking the seats out so I have the extra floor space on the passenger side and build up the bed frame about 8" for storage cubbies in the foot areas. Anyway, Thank you for the video I'm glad to see you're safe and doing well out there. I am looking forward to this new adventure of life. May God watch over you and keep you in the days and months ahead.
