Thanks for the shoutout and the kind words. I agree, everyone did a great job with the Sharks cover and it was a pretty wholesome experience 🙂 Can't wait to hear it at Auditorio 🤘
TW did a studio collaboration/remix of the original a few weeks ago (not long after Aftershock). Dany and Pau joined them onstage in Mexico City last week and it was pretty awesome. DPS formed at the Berklee College of Music around the same time that TW attended the summer program there (2015). I believe this song (from their most recent album) was released near the end of 2023. 😎👍
The collaboration between Dead Poet Society and The Warning on "Hurt" started pretty organically. It all began when The Warning was working on Keep Me Fed with producer Anton DeLost, who also produced Dead Poet Society’s album Fission. When "Hurt" dropped, The Warning heard it in the studio and became instant fans, even congratulating Anton on the track’s success. Pau, in particular, loved the song, and it quickly became a favorite. The bands first crossed paths on Shiprocked in February, where they got to know each other. Pau was seen singing along to "Hurt" on social media, which Dead Poet Society noticed. The idea for a live collaboration came from Dead Poet Society’s A&R, who suggested reaching out to The Warning since both bands would be at Aftershock in October. Jack Underkofler, Dead Poet Society’s frontman, loved the idea but kept forgetting to send the message while driving between stops on tour. He repeatedly told himself he’d do it at the next gas station, but it wasn’t until the day before the festival that he finally messaged either Ale or Dany-he’s said both, so I guess he can't remember. He asked if any of them wanted to perform "Hurt" on stage with the band. Pau immediately said yes. The result is the live performance you just watched. There's a better video of the Aftershock performance on my channel using multiple camera angles, and the audio from the one with the best audio straight from the sound board. As you just saw, Pau knew the song well and nailed the performance, leaving everyone wanting more. After the show, Jack thought, “Maybe we should release this.” The two bands decided to collaborate on a studio version. Dead Poet Society sent the instrumental track, without vocals, to The Warning. The Warning recorded their vocals and sent it back, with Jack, Dany, and Pau sharing lead vocal duties. According to Jack, the result was "kind of perfect," and they agreed to release it, which they did on December 11. Dany and Pau also made a surprise appearance at a Dead Poet Society concert in Mexico City on January 10 to perform the song live. The crowd went insane when Dany and Pau made their way toward the stage, and the room was hyped for the entire performance.
The story goes that The Warning and DPS (Dead Poet Society) used the same Producer on their latest albums and the Producer played this song for TW and they loved it. Then Pau was caught on video someplace with a crowd and this song was playing and Pau was singing to it and DPS saw that video, so when they were at the same Festival DPS asked them if anyone wanted to come sing it with them.
Thanks for the reaction. You seem to have missed some collaborations between these two bands, but no problem, The Warning fans are about to catch you up! The two bands have been “crossing paths” quite a lot in the past year. They share the same record producer and perform at many of the same festivals. DPS saw a video of Pau & Dany in the crowd singing to Hurt at Shiprocked, and it resulted in Pau joining them onstage at Aftershock. Then DPS re-released Hurt a few weeks ago with all 3 sisters singing on it. As great as all this has been, perhaps the highlight is Dany and Pau making a guest appearance last week, on stage at a DPS show in Mexico City (performing "Hurt"). There are no official videos of that (yet), but many fan cams.
The lead guitarist with the headless guitar is Jack Collins who usually plays a 7-string guitar. The lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist is named Jack Underkofler. As others have said they are originally from Boston. Currently, they work out of Huntington Beach, CA.
It is not The Warning gear. The sisters had their gig some 20 minutes later on a different stage. I heard they transmitted this performance live on the big screen for the audience waiting for the Warning.
Ninja, great job with the bass on SHARKS! Dead Poet Society were formed with they were students at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Happens that they were students the same year Dany, Pau, and Ale came up to Berklee for a summer program (2015). Not likely that they crossed paths, but there is a lot of Berklee music education between these two bands. Great to see Pau out front. The bucket walk just kills me.
Paulina wanted to know what other bands that Anton DeLost had produced, which one of them were Dead Poet Society. She took an interest in them and I don't know the details, but they had contact in some way. Since they were both performing at this fest, the lead singer actually texted Alé and asked if one of them would like to come out and sing one of their songs with them. Paulina suggested if she could sing "Hurt".
Pau has answered the 'side-project' question directly saying she is not interested at all in doing 'this' (music) without her sisters. That said, I love these little events where one of DPA does a one-off cool thing. Pau here shows that she can immediately step into the vibe of DPS' hit song and kill it. It was DPS' lead singer that reached out to Ale to ask if any of them wanted to sing with them on stage, Pau jumped at the opportunity to sing Hurt. You should find the video from last year where Pau was rocking out in the crowd to this song on her birthday. Also, you definitely need to see the performance from a few days ago where both Dany and Pau went on stage with DPS in Mexico and rocked out hard. There's a different video of this performance from someone in the photo pit that has better audio I think.
IMHO the combined video is the best. It uses a split screen for 3 views and uses the best audio. It is also complete with the intro. Uploaded by Thontor.
Sharks was too much fun. Ale would be proud (ish) 🤣You'll love the performance from CDMX. Dany and Pau killed it. Great to see both of them unleashed. True rockstars!
The warning also joined for a official studio version of this :) this preformance was just before TW on another stage so alot of TW fans probably missed this live
I think it was Phil Collins who said something like "are you a singer who drums, or a drummer who sings a bit", in my opinion Pau is a drummer first and a singer second. Dany's voice is so powerful she is a lead singer, although Pau's emotional tone lends itself well to songs like Black Holes and Breathe. Sharks is my favourite song on the Keep Me Fed album, I loved your version.
There is another phonecam video up close from Pau's side of the audience where you can hear her better. You should watch that. And listen to the studio recording with Dany and Pau. And two weeks ago the girls joined DPS live in Mexico City.
From what I heard, when Pau finished here, she had 20 minutes before The Warning's set was scheduled to start on another stage. This was day 2 of the festival , Oct 11, 2024.The song is on DPS's 2nd album, which was released in 2024. Anton Delost produced that album, he also produced Keep Me Fed. Great job on the Sharks cover. 🦈 So what are you doing next, now that Jeremy has the PRS? 🎸 😁
The version with Pau and Dany singing this with DPS in Mexico City is 🔥🔥🔥. They MELTED the stage! (I realize you recorded this before that happened but it is definitely worth checking out.)
We’ve heard how epic! Thanks for being cognizant that we recorded before the Mexico version was out - appreciate the consideration!! Definitely will watch. ❤️🥷🤘🏽

For me this was the highlight of 2024. Pol'and'Rocks is the best live show of 2024. It does not have many clips of individual songs so I made clips of the of the whole show and started posting them giving credit to the owners but hey got blocked within a few days. If anyone wants these clips leave a reply and I will leave a link.
I would love to catch a live of the quarantine show. It was made right before Error came out when the quarantine hit and they had to cancel their first real tour. its just a whole concert in their basement Warning Cave and its pretty awesome for what it is.

Those headless guitars are really fun. I don’t have a proper strandberg but I have an EART GW-2 headless which has basically an identical design without strandberg’s special ergonomic neck profile (it’s just a standard compound radius c profile). It was only around $400 and honestly the neck is fantastic for that price. But ultimately the ergonomics of the shape is what a headless is all about. It’s so light (and real strandbergs are even lighter) that I can just toss it around in any position, no problem. I often play at my desk, so being able to play in a more classical position is amazing (I simply can’t do that with my strat) and it’s extremely compact which means I don’t have to worry about the headstock (or rather just the end of the neck since there’s no headstock) banging into anything around my desk, monitors etc. I can get up and adjust things while wearing it and it never becomes a burden to anyone in proximity or my back lol. it’s great for traveling because it feels like I’ve got nothing in my gig bag. I still love my strat and tele and they have their uses, but to be honest, the headless gets the majority of my playtime these days. It’s just so damn comfortable to practice with, everything else feels like a bit of an effort in comparison.
That’s awesome! Thanks for the comment! Yeah, I’m definitely curious about playing one. I’ve never even held one. Maybe one day I’ll play around with one. I’ve just always had an affinity towards PRS and Ibanez. (Ibanez only because that’s what I started playing with). I love the light guitars though. That’s one of the reasons I played an Ibanez S series for so long. Love having a light guitar!
@@musikbyjhI honestly was heavily considering a used PRS before I went with the EART. They are great guitars. I can’t wait to see yours. Definitely try a headless at some point though. It’s a unique experience.

Wrong live , this is old before they recorded and did it with Dany doing second verse and PaU doing third verse , and they performed live on stage in Mexico City with Dany and Pau singing there parts
No such thing as wrong live. 😝
@@torresilk4277 only if your a weirdo obsessed super fan , this live is terrible quality and nothing like the actual collab recording which features Dany singing the vers PaU did here
