- Welcome (Bienvenidos) to Neil’s Spanish Fly Box, where we take a look at some of the flies used in Spanish competitions.
¿Hola, que tal? En principio, este es un video diseñado para pescadores que entienden inglés, pero por supuesto, ¡cualquiera puede verlos! Si eres un pescador de habla hispana y te gustaría comentar en español, te responderé en español. ¡No seas tímido!
Learn about some new (some, not so new) and interesting fly patterns, that can be found in every Spanish fly fisherman’s armoury, including some ‘must haves’! Real flies for real fly fishers.
I have fly fished in Spanish competitions for 9 years, on rivers and still water, learning a great deal about the Spanish way of fishing and the flies that
are used.

Excellent presentation easy to follow thank you
Hello there! Thank you for your kind comment. It really does float well and if it goes under the surface, it pops up like a cork!!👍
@@neilsspanishflybox ideal. Thanks
I’m excited to tie this one. It looks very very buoyant and I’m always looking for a pattern to hang a nymph under, something that’s a little different. I’m thinking this fly might be the answer I’ve been looking for. I’m wondering if this dry fly will float a 2.5 to 3.0 mm tungsten beaded nymph, I guess it will depend on the size I tie this dry fly in. Thanks Mr Neil, I’m excited to tie and try this fly out very soon!!! I’m still catching trout on the F fly that you did about a year ago here on UA-cam. It’s a simple to tie fly but very effective for me. Thanks!!! I appreciate it!!!
Hello Chad, great to hear from you. This fly really does float well and is suppose that you are correct in saying, the size that you tie it in will depend upon the weight it can support. Just yesterday I fished it in a size 14, but only with a 2.3 bead. I think that it would support a 2.5 ok. I am pleased that you are still having success with the F fly. 👏🏻👍
