I hate UA-cam. Like, this is genuine extremely well made content. But, because of the algorithms, superb animations like this won’t get the attention they deserve. You, sir or madam, have a gift. I just wish that you and the people got the actual credit they deserve...
@@unafraidninjagaming7933 It's still relevant if you ask me. UA-cam is pretty much lacking in actual content creators. Besides that, the algorithms now favour cheap content over quality content. It's pretty obvious once you step back and look at the big picture.
Damn. The Saxxys this year have some SERIOUS competition. Any other year, you'd have an almost-clear win with this. Even if you end up not getting it this year, fantastic work. You really put in some fantastic effort here.
I am floored by how good this entry is. The animation is superb; the movements look natural and realistic. The lighting is excellently used; it makes the whole thing look a lot better. The story is tight and clear. The action is appropriately realistic. The cinematography, while a little too shaky, still serves to complement the action scenes. Overall, it's one of the best extended entries, this year.
This definitely had one of the best Sniper voices I've heard in a while. He has one of the hardest voices to do right, besides Heavy and Soldier, but he did a really good job.
Also, can you make the SFM-posters of this video? For example, last scene with leaving the van or how to aim the Sniper / "plays" with the camera Scout.
I've already got plans on making some posters with this SFM. Same goes for all major SFM's I have. They'll be posted on my Deviantart, which you can find in the description. ;D
oh man i absolutely love the smooth animation ! i actually like the shaky cam it gives a more natural affect like from a characters POV than compared to the cold front which has mainly from an outside perspective
Wow. Just wow. I’ve seen multiple, multiple saxxies in my life. But this, this truly tops most. Smooth animation, not much clipping of cosmetics, it has every thing!
In my opinion, this is a winner. Smooth action sequences, and pretty good voice acting for a saxxy! Only issue is a little too much shaky cam. But in some scenes? The shaky came made it all the better! Bravo!
Damn! The animation was incredibly smooth and the voice acting and camera movement were outstanding, I'm utterly amazed this hasn't received as much recognition as it should have, definitely one of the greatest action/stealth sfms I have ever seen!
My favorite saxxy vid so far. There’s no way this can’t win! Edit: I’m astonished this didn’t win but there were also hard-to-beat videos. However, now that we know what you’re capable of, we’ll be supporting you for whatever you do next, even if you don’t enter the next Saxxy awards!
The way you do the voices here is something I really love. With every other, its like the characters are speaking right next to a high tech microphone, but here, the distance from the camera and characters affects the volune of what you hear, and, with them whispering at the beginning, I love that you did that. Awesome sound design, awesome animation. You should have so much more attention, im subbing.
This is fucking amazing, the consent action keep me on my toes and had really nice voice acting usually I hate other people trying to imitate the other classes but they sound just like them I hope this wins because this really did go above and beyond
I had not seen animation executed that perfectly, everything was outstanding, and you made the graphics looks so beautiful as well. I sincerely hope you'll win.
Damn this animation looks so smooth and crisp. The shaky cam in fact made the animation come to life as if I'm watching a big budget movie. Excellent work m8! :)
Thank you guys so much for all the love and support you've given me! This was by far the fastest I've ever gotten this many views and likes! Thank you all so much! More content will be in store for the future! :D 😄
So I'm planning to make an sfm this summer do you have any tips to make a sfm. It's going to be about a normal game of tf2 so that I can introduce my friends to tf2
This is very excellent, especially in terms of pacing, directing, and camerawork. All the little details of the world itself are great as well, and it just makes for an allover solid experience. Great work.
2:32 That sound design is perfect. you can hear the silenced sniper fireing and the crack in the air from the bullet. And the assult rifle sounds different (even if a bit too quiet) fom the shot nearby than from the snipers pespective. Really good job!! Ps: did i mention i love the shotgun szene And so many other times sound design was also great!
Thanks! I decided to go for a different approach with the sound editing by using FL Studio instead of the usual Sony Vegas. Turns out it was a more efficient move! :D
i think the idea behind the video is supposed to be something for a scout and sniper update with scout getting a few new weapons and sniper possibly getting the ability to use the shotgun.
I love how when the camera is through the view of the rifle, it gets shaky like how Sniper would really hold it! Minor detail, but that's true dedication to the craft.
What i like about this the most is the very organic, "filmed" feel, and SNIPER'S EXPRESSIONS. He's bloody alive in this one. (I wish the diaglogue was louder because the voice acting is well done too ;_;)
Something that many people wouldn’t even have released is that the audio is in surround sound (take the start of the video when the sniper is talking), you have my respecc
AFallingTree Actually this was produced in a stereo mix since I unfortunately don't have surround speakers at the moment. However, true 5.1 sound mixes is something I'm definitely looking forward to implement in future titles. 😉
Mariotravel209 please do! Surround sound really adds another layer of emersion on top of this already incredibly made animation (I forgot to mention in my previous comment that the animation is damn impressive).

Apart from the constant change in voice actors and the stiff movements, this SFM was like a live action! The camera moved as if it was held by a real camera man and the lighting was cinematic as hell!
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Dude, you are definitely getting my vote from me for this year's Saxxy Awards. Everything about it was great, especially the pacing and cinematography! Definitely the best example of a top-quality SFM by far! I highly doubt anyone else would match or outclass you with this work of blissful art of a short action SFM film. :D
The animation was really good. The sound design and music blended well. I love how you made the tf2 weapons feel like real guns. I am dissapointed nothing happened with the red spy. Either way great job!
This was bloody brilliant! A true masterpiece right here. You’ve got to be the winner for extended. I really loved the voice for scout and sniper. This could be an excellent action winner too. Nothing wrong with this animation, not one bit. You even got one really hard aspect perfectly down being the lighting.

The only critique I have is the lipsyncing- the dialogue around 4:00 looks like it's done through auto-lipsync and does a disservice to the rest of the video. I'm not sure how much of this by motion capture, and how much was hand-animated, however if you have hand-animation experience, lipsyncing can be relatively easy! I would love to go in there and just tweak that, because overall this is such a wonderful short!

The shakey camera in some places feel a bit much but other then that realy solid work , really love the lighting in this
Exactly. My goal isn't to make the most flashiest-looking film, my goal was to make the most immersive film. 😉
Im not saying the shakey cam was all bad but it did feel needlessly shakey in parts and coulda done better with a more subdued camera
This reminded me of Patrick Hunt's animation Called "The ship heist"
the shakey cam did kinda make it hard to exactly decipher what was happening and slightly annoying altho still keep up the good work
i appreciate the shakey camera, reminds me of MGS5
Watch them unbox an SMG
Now time to take back what belongs to m-
