I feel this because I’m always telling myself I shouldn’t spend so much on lunch, then I go out and spend $11 on food that barely fills me up. $40-$70 on one meal though... I can’t relate.

Just Call Me Wah Nope I live on less then that. It’s simple and easy and it saves a ton of money. You can do this buy cooking some meals and refrigerating it and reheating it. You could get a few and live off it as tasty healthy food for cheap. They are probobally brought up in a spoiled family which I am happy that I can be grateful unlike them.

They sell bags of beans for a $1. Buy 2, 3 of them, cumin, tomatoes, onions, tomato sauce=$5. You can eat for a week on Veggie Chili.

Dollar Tree, Dollàr Grneral, Dòllar Express, loaf of bread w/pnut butter and jelly, large container of oatmeal, large box of cereal w/milk, a bag of potatoes to bake, starbucks gives free hot&cold water , free water at work bring your own coffee and tea, large bag of rice, large bag of pasta w/large bottle of sauce. All of the items anove except starbucks are found at Dollar stores. Hint Hint for next challenge. And learn to not overlook the family pack deals at grocery stores. I buy in bulk and buy plastic bags, foil paper and divide that family pack of chicken per meal, a leg quarter is lunch and dinner.

I've survived on less than $20 a week for longer. They could have easily did this challenge if they had self control and self discipline. They really lack discipline and it's not cool that they couldn't have self control for one week. Self control and self discipline is a really important skill and I hope they take the time to develop that.

I'm sad to see that no one made it, but I'm glad y'all at least tried and put out the results anyway. I live on a grand a month, so $20 is what i tend to spend every 2 weeks or so, if I go out, way out, etc.. If I'm lucky i get $150-_200 a month on groceries, and I often have to switch out paying for internet & electricity (I can't afford cable TV at all), so twenty bucks is a lot to me. I hope to be at the point someday where I can afford $40 & $70 dinners.. fresh produce, & disposable income in general. How keep working on my UA-cam career! ;D

Their “empty” fridges/“empty” gas tanks is our equivalent of a full fridge/gas tank. Growing up poor is terrible, though I really feel for the pregnant lady, especially. I could NOT imagine.

Also, going out with my friends was always not willingly mooching off of them. I’d tell them like it was okay if I didn’t go/have any food that day.

I am 13 and live with my single mom we NEVER use $20 a week we usually never get anything we NEVER eat out and we only get stuff at the store that’s on sale
just go to the grocery store and buy 5 packs of ramen for $1
but since u only eat 3 or 4 packs a day,
you can just buy 30 packs of ramen for $6
that means u have $14 left!
and then u can buy whatever u want
DONT FORGET ABOUT FOOD AT HOME, FOOD AT FRIENDS
If you tried to go a month on twenty dollars a week it would have been easier. You would have about $80. Just walk or bike everywhere or hitch rides with friends and buy $20 to $30 worth of fresh groceries to last you at least three weeks shopping smart. Never buy from a restaurant or bar and fill gas with at least $10 for emergency purposes. Being a hermit really helps. I had to do this in my past when I was younger so I know it is possible.
Evelyn is my sistah from another mistah. The only way I wouldn't go over a $20 budget is if I didn't have $20. Yup, I would have totally had that ganache and loved it. Life is short. Eat that chocolate Evelyn!

Y'all really tanked this challenge. When I was in college living off of $10 or less a week, with no parents or friends or free food or "planning ahead" to help me out, I would have loved to cheat. But nope, it was bread and cheese most days since I couldn't afford to even travel off campus to an actual grocery. You guys had good intentions with this, being thankful and all, but you kinda ended up rubbing it in people's faces who don't have the luxury to go over budget. $75 on sushi? Geez! I still love y'all though.

I have lived in my current apartment for 6 months and have filled up my tank once. I ride my bike to work and catch the train on the weekends ($2.70 daily cap on trains on sunday! :) ). I hate driving and own my crummy car just for interstate trips and emergencies. I'm under 25 so would cost more to hire a car for a week than to own it for a year. I hate paying for travel- it's such a nothing purchase. I save money in other ways just naturally- I don't drink, I'm vegan and eating out is overpriced and shitter than most things I can make for $2/meal so I don't eat out more than once a month. Also, try to hang out with people in active ways- like hiking, swimming, mountain biking :) take a picnic.

You girls need to try again with the budget, Nikki if you take out the extra you spent on your hubby you did awesome and tried really hard!! Fair enough that you all have a great income and can spend lots, but this was a challenge it was meant to be hard there's so many people who don't have the advantages you have and this was only one week, your willpower needs improvement!!
