As a lamb of His this is on time for me. I survived a spinal injury a year and a half ago. I m a senior living alone . My church and ladies Bible study group have abandoned me. No one calls or comes by . Once every 2 or 3 months I get a card saying " thinking of you ". I never see another person I wake up and spend each day in silence alone . Each step is excruciatingly painful so I spend most of my day and night in bed. I trust that Jesus is watching over me or I would lose my mind! If it weren't for Jesus Christ....I wouldn't want to be a christian. 🥺
Ultimately, He is the only One we have, and all we need! I am sorry you are lonely? Depressed? Disappointed? You have purpose yet! Arise, daughter of the King!!!!
If it weren't for Jesus Christ, you wouldn't have the opportunity to be a Christian. It was His coming here, living HIs perfect life, His fulfilling of all of the prophecies, His ultimate sacrifice, and His resurrection that makes us being a Christian possible. When you receive those occasional cards, do you ever write bask stating that you could really use an in-person visit? In a perfect world, we wouldn't have to do such things, but in this imperfect world in which we live, we sometimes have to remind and encourage people to act the way we all should.
In all my comings and goings, there was Jesus. This Monday we have a prayer intercession. I just finished 4 week study of the Holy Spirit, Father, Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Towards the end I felt His Holy Presence, Wave after Wave after Wave. Flowed from the top of my head to the souls of my feet. Goosebumps in my arms flowing through my legs. I went to fit new batteries for my remote. Shared this with the store owner and her helper, His Presence flowed through me again, I lifted my shirt and they saw the goosebumps. 3 Waves, Father, Son Jesus and Holy Spirit. So you've chosen to focus only on one of the 10 Commandments? What about the other 9? Why have you not brought them up? Also, God's commands are far more than those 10, but they do seem to be the ones that some folks fixate on. The book of Leviticus contained so many more. If you're insistent that we follow the laws in the Old Testament, are you keeping all of those (no eating shellfish, not mixing fabrics, proper planting and rotating of crops, etc.)?

The thing missing in modern Christian music vs Old hymns is that the songs are "i" focused, and don't focus in the attributes of God, faith, or thanking God. This song sounded lovely, but there was Jesus, doesn't say thank God there was Jesus, or I'm so blessed there was Jesus, or what tne "i" in tne song did because there was Jesus. I couldn't get all words when all 4 voices sang and guitar amped up, so perhaps it was in those bits. I'm not pitting down the work, this would catch on quickly we just need to make sure the message of the gospel is clearer than our individual suffering. Great voices on the 2 leads!
To me, the whole message of this song was that we wouldn't be able to make it in this life without Jesus. It's not a praise hymn in some of the stylings of the classics, but it comes across to me as a praise song. I think there's room for the new stuff and the classic stuff. We have to remember that what we consider to be classics were new songs at one time, and some of them were not received well at that time because folks didn't like the change from what they were used to.

The thing missing in modern Christian music vs Old hymns is that the songs are "i" focused, and don't focus in the attributes of God, faith, or thanking God. This song sounded lovely, but there was Jesus, doesn't say thank God there was Jesus, or I'm so blessed there was Jesus, or what tne "i" in tne song did because there was Jesus. I couldn't get all words when all 4 voices sang and guitar amped up, so perhaps it was in those bits. I'm not pitting down the work, this would catch on quickly we just need to make sure the message of the gospel is clearer than our individual suffering. Great voices on the 2 leads!
To me, the whole message of this song was that we wouldn't be able to make it in this life without Jesus. It's not a praise hymn in some of the stylings of the classics, but it comes across to me as a praise song. I think there's room for the new stuff and the classic stuff. We have to remember that what we consider to be classics were new songs at one time, and some of them were not received well at that time because folks didn't like the change from what they were used to.
