Not to mention they were doing this shit in late 89s early 90s and think about how long, for reasons I'll NEVER understand, the metal community finally started taking notice and all of a sudden every band was and is trying to rip off and sound like Meshuggah. There's only one. 🕳
That was literally my thought the first time I heard this (was 2019, super late to the party). Decades later and bands are still trying to imitate this sound, not even coming close.
man this song in itself is probably better overall than most of the Meshuggah songs that have come out since. This song is immediately metal, but quickly behind that its also funky as hell. If future metalheads want to beat this one they'll have to learn to mash funk, jazz hip hop and metal all together. If you look closely, a lot of the same rhythms are present in R&b and metal, and funk.
I know the solo at 2:57 was all for the memes and yet it's more accurate than how Meshuggah themselves play this song live haha

@@joaoldmedeiros well, partially right tho. Everyone wants good gear, it inspire us to play. With guitars I like, I get more inspired than a cheap guitar, but if it's cheap, good looking, good playability and good sounding then it doesn't matter. It matters if you struggle to play the instrument.

Dude same here. I've heard this name for years since like maybe 11 years ago right after high school. Lol finally about 2 weeks ago I start listening to there bleed song. I mean wtf...I been missing out on certain styles of riffs I love hearing. I dont like the repeated aspect of them so much and I feel like some riffs are way too easy almost too lol like more could be put in it maybe to sound like more idk but I know there good af and inspire most bands I listen to. Lots of djenty styles. I still gotta practice the 2 intro riffs for bleed. Way too fast for me lol.

The Album before Chaosphere, Destroy-Erase-Improve sounded a lot better. There are also recordings from the 70’s (bbc session from Queen for instance) that still sound better than a lot of modern stuff. Nonetheless, João you are amazing!! By the way, if you ever get the chance somewhere, you should check out recording on a Studer 24 track with Dolby SR units, preferably thru a 5088 console. There is nothing digital that comes close to that sound. You are a gem to the guitarist community!!
Cool to see you using a Harley Benton. Sounds pretty damn good. Is that the stock pickups? Not bad. Seen a lot go guys get these and mod them with EMGs. How's the build quality and what does the fan feel like on the guitar?
Not bad at all, incredible for the money I'd say Gary! Build is ok, only issue are 2 dead frets on the high strings (11 and 23) fan feels very natural!
THANK YOU so much for doing this! I finally have clear proof that my pickups aren't the problem with my tone! These Harley Benton guitars are really something else. I've recently bought their cheapest 5 string bass and I'm amazed with the quality for money ratio.
Anyway, amazing cover and very accurate representation of how I imagine Meshuggah solos are written 😂
Edit: Can't believe this is emissary, whenever I tried using it I'd have to dial the gain to almost zero, otherwise it would be super noisy and fizzy. Really goes to show how much I've still got to learn 😉

4. Should I get it or get a telecaster, since I told myself I wanted a telecaster and I already have a 7 string?
1 - Hard to tune with, but stable when you finally hit the note
2 - Good
3 - Do you like what you hear?
4 - Get whatever guitar you don't already have 😍
