Yeah, Walker and Tucker, hot item singing with the Birds for such a long time. Walker died long ago, Tucker died about 2 years ago. I miss the both of them. All of the Birds could sing and Howard Carroll was so good on the guitar.
Just look at James Walker and Ira Tucker working this song. Pure magic together. Howard Carrol is playing that guitar too. Such a dynamic group. We don't have this good gospel anymore.
Ira Tucker coming in and doing such a wonderful of the song. I loved the way he and Walker held this song. They were so good together, in fact all of the Birds were so good. Walker and Tucker are now dead, but their music lives on thanks to UA-cam and the uploaders. My thanks go out to you uploaders. I've never uploaded anything, but you have my thanks.
Carroll died in a nursing home and I would think that the CNA's would ask him to play that guitar all of the time. I'll would bet he kept all of that talent for the rest of his life, because he died in that nursing home. I hope they treated him well. All of the Hummingbirds were so talented and they wrote almost all of their songs, except "He Loves Me Like A Rock", that one was written by Paul Simon. but the Birds did such a good job on it. I listened to the with Stevie Wonder. Stevie had to start the song over because he said that he lost his cue plug(s).
AND IRA TUCKER TOOK AND DID WONERFUL JOB OF THIS ONE, HE DIED LAST YEAR.MOST OF THE GREATS ARE GONE NOW OR COURSE i CAN NAME MANY WHO HAVE NOW GONE, HOME TO GLORY, JAMES WALKER , THEY WERE KNOWN AS WALKER AND TUCKER, I LOVE THIS GROUP TOO, THE DIXIE BETTER KNOWN AS THE BIRDS WHEN HOWARD CARROLL PLAYS THAT GUITAR, HE CAN REALLY PLAY THAT GUITAR TOO. i LOVE THE BIRDS TOO.
Unfortunately, I started taking videos of the Birds in late 1988 after William Bobo’s passing. I remember the Birds holding a microphone on stage in his absence to honor Bobo.
I think Carroll died in a nursing at the age of 90 something, I think the Bill Owens is gone too. One thing about Jamrs Waker and, Ira Tucker is gone now.

Tucker died in 2008...way more than 2 years ago...I wish he would have lasted that long!
The great James Walker singing his from his heart and Howard Carroll is so good on that guitar.
I'm hanging in the background singing the bass rhythm 😄

I've always gospel singing. Gospel is my favorite genre of singing.
These gospel heavy weights owned the song and the stage. Real serious message and great, great performance
Tucker and Walker were so big, they both knew how to work this song. Love this performance.

I just learned of Paul Owens death too.
Huey Williams from The Jackson Southernaires voice and stage mannerisms are clearly influenced by James Walker here!
DeeNice681 No one and I mean no one did this better than Bro Walker.
do you have any of William Bobo
Unfortunately, I started taking videos of the Birds in late 1988 after William Bobo’s passing. I remember the Birds holding a microphone on stage in his absence to honor Bobo.
