- Russian troops reportedly used the Kh-47M Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched missiles to strike military objects in Vinnytsia region. Ukraine said it killed 12 Russian troops in the Donetsk region on August 7. Ukraine’s military claimed it shot down four Kalibr cruise missiles fired by Russia from the Black Sea. UK’s Defence Ministry said that Russian forces are deploying Soviet-era mines in the Donbas region. The Russian-installed administration in Zaporizhzhia region has signed a decree providing for a referendum on joining Russia. Ukraine’s nuclear energy company Energoatom said that Russian forces are ready to blow up the nuclear power plant. Dmitry Medvedev has accused the US and other Western nations of harbouring long-term plans against his country.

The reason Ukrainian generals & colonels are not getting killed is because they adopted and been trained in western doctrine, high ranking officers are not needed on the front lines to make tactical decisions or seize opportunities, those decisions are made by junior offices & non commissioned officers. Ukrainian brass is far in the rear making strategic decisions, not tactical, like a modern professional army does. Russia does not have a modern professional army, they have a thug army that kills civilians & terrorize them in a attempt to reach goals they can’t do through manurer warfare. Russia tried maneuver warfare the first month in Kiev and were slaughtered, all they are capable of doing is to sit back from afar and shell & then take control of the ruble and advance a couple kilometers at a time.

That’s what happens when you infuse military targets with civilian infrastructure. Ukraine doesn’t have very distinct bases due to the fact they would be easily identifiable for Russian long range missiles, so they have been hiding their equipment in civilian infrastructure. It makes sense logistically and strategically, but sadly it will increase the chances that Russian intel accuses the wrong building of being hit.
