I was stationed at Raynham from 1992 until closure. I was one of two station medics. I had a great time at Raynham. The best first tour I could have hoped for. Happy days.
Amazing tower restoration and a great film as always. I have visited West Raynham it would be amazing if a developer would restore the Officer’s Mess as a hotel or something. I’m sure it would do well with holidaymakers who like the Norfolk Broads and a quiet setting to stay in. RAF Odiham holds great childhood memories for me if ever you can do a film on that! Thanks for sharing Sean
Thanks for your comments Neil, I've looked into RAF Odiham but can find a 1940s aerial photo. The airfield not even covered in the Then and Now books. I will try and contact them to see if I can obtain a 1940s photo.
I was at RAF Odiham 1964 - 1965. Variety of connections. 18 Squadron on Wessex 2's, OCU in Hangar 1 after 18 went to Germany, Cyprus and Borneo. We had Twin PIoneers, Belvederes and a couple of Wessex 2's. 72 Sqaudron with Wessex 2's were in No. 3 Hangar. There is a connection to West Raynham unless I've gone daft! 43 Sqaudron at WR with Hunter FGA9's were part of 38 Group, Air Support Command with HQ at Odiham.@@TravellingbacktosAirfields
It's a classic 30 second loop on the video editing program I use called inshot. The track came from their library called "To The Space". Loved it The moment I heard it, can't think of anything more fitting.

@@TravellingbacktosAirfields thank you so much, it's beautifully haunting isn't it?
Yes, so many people comment on the sound track. It's as important as the video contents, it makes these video work so well.
