That hits so close to home. I have struggled with alcoholism since I was 16. It's like a monster that is inside of you. It is sleeping when you are sober but once you give it just a drop it wakes up and wants more...and it doesn't care what you have to do to give it more, who you have to hurt..it doesn't matter. It's a really terrible disease. I was sober for a few months only for some stresfful events to wake up the monster again, it's really hard. But we have to keep fighting it, it might live in as forever but we still have the power to fight back and keep it asleep. It is never gone but we can try our best to give it as less power as possible.
