Over 40 years ago I was in a similar situation as you are now--although yours is so much more demanding and heart-breaking. When my son was 4 and my daughter was 2, I surprisingly gave birth to triplets--which we didn't even know about until I was on the delivery table. So for about 6 months I had 5 kids, 4 and under. And even though I look back on it now and wouldn't replace the memories for anything, it was tough--and my babies didn't face nearly the problems your family is experiencing. I just think you should know that you are coping so much better job than I did. You get up every day and take a shower and fix your face and your hair. I wore the same pajamas for several days and sometimes didn't smell so good. You take the time to fix your kids hair and dress them cute every day. You are positive and obviously trying so hard to cope. I was overwhelmed with diapers and meals and laundry and kid mischief there were many days I was not pleasant to be around. I told my husband I felt every morning that I was starting out at the bottom of a dark well with a string of mindless chores to get through to get to the next day. You and Will are doing a wonderful job, Emily. Even though we only see a tiny slice of your reality and have little understanding of the constant work and worry you face every day, please give yourselves a lot of credit. Very few people could handle your situation and begin to do as well as you are.

Please try not to fret too much when any of the little ones are poorly if they don’t eat too much, as you know yourself when you’re poorly, especially with any stomach related viruses, the last thing we feel like doing is eating as it often just goes right through us. I know it’s the mama bear in you (very natural!) in wanting them to eat etc, but kids are great at being in tune with their bodies, if she doesn’t want to eat that’s OK - her tummy just needs to settle, but you’re doing the right thing in concentrating on liquids. Just get as much in her as you can, even if it means using the syringe & waking her in the night to give her some. Her body will follow suit as it heals with wanting food & her appetite will return. Try blander food too, they’re softer on the tummy.
The same with Griffin post op - liquids are so important to the healing process, solid food will follow suit, although it’s so wonderful to hear he’s doing a little better & getting stronger each day!

Prayers for Lindy and All of you....I think the rash was there to send you to the ER so that she could get rehydrated....So glad she is heading in the right direction....
Wow! Parenting can be selfless but it's worth it. I'm glad you took Lindey in to get her checked out. Better safe than sorry!💖 Thanks for sharing.

Glad Griffin is drinking out of a sippy cup and eating by himself again. Hope he doesn’t get a stomach bug. I wouldn’t want to see him in the hospital again either. Lindy doesn’t look very good. Feel better soon Lindy!!!
Your company is BRAVE. There would be no way id be stepping foot in your house for a good 2 weeks with a stomach bug running rampant lol (no offense)

Looks like Lindy's rash might be hives, our daughter had allergic reactions to viruses but her hives were severe, hives, on top of hives which left bruising all over her body. She still gets them usually after being sick but knows how to manage them with benedryl. Poor child, i do hope she gets feeling better, keep the benedryl on hand more could pop out, also hives are hot without a fever. Hope your feeling better yourself and Will stays healthy. My Daughter, her Hubby, and her entire family of 3 Little Girlies, 1 Baby Boy, plus a Teen Girlie all got
very tough cases of Covid 2 weeks ago in S. Cali😷🤒~
My 4-year-old GrandBoo, Kaleena's, eyes turned beet red, thus they thought she was getting that scary "Inflammatory Disease", which is hitting some Kiddos with the virus:(
Thankfully, CHOC felt it was more a secondary eye infection, and drops finally cleared her vision up🙏...

Do a syringe of Gatorade every half hour. That has electrolytes etc to help with dehydration.
Her little face. Too precious, you could tell she felt terrible. Any ideas what caused the rash? At first I thought scarlet fever until I saw it. Something else. Maybe she’s developing an allergy to something, especially the way Benadryl helped so quickly. Thank goodness you advocated for her insisted on an IV. I can’t imagine why any doctor would not want to give her fluids. What do you call a Med student that graduated last in his class… A DOCTOR 😩. Maybe you got one of those 🤷🏾♀️

Emily what a time you are having, it is just one thing after another. It is awful when your kids are sick and worse if you are not well either. You really do not deserve this. Hoping it all settles down asap.xx
Everyone needs to test for covid. One negative does not mean no covid for all. Good luck.
The Dr is damn lazy! IMO. Lindy is super dehydrated. She's such a cutie and a warrior ❤️

I am so sorry your going through all of thia, but I want to say thank you for admitting how yiur feeling it helps hearing I am not the only mom feeling that way. Special needs children can be seriously stressful for me mainly because i feel helpless to help my son sometimes.

You are doing a great job tho...truly.... keep it up mama. I know the feeling and my life is often this way too as a single parent, with one of my children being medically fragile and fully blind. But keep doing what you're doing because you really are doing good! And your kids are lucky to have you!
I do, however, hope you get a break (I hope I get a break too LOL) and I will be praying for all of you.

Emily having sick kids is so hard. Looks like hives and a after thing for a virus. But hydrating her is always a good thing. But I have to say that if I was your company I would stay away…lol. I would not like it if my kids caught it

I am so glad you stood up to the doctor and insisted she was needing to be there and get fluids. Poor baby,she looks sick and very tired. Not good that you and Will got sick too. I hope your company doesn't get sick also. Maybe then can help out with the big kids at least. Take care. It's hard being a special needs parent!

If I could say anything important to you it's DON'T WAIT FOR THE LIVER TESTS STAY ON TOP OF IT PLEASE!! I made the same mistake and it was the worst experience in the world. And please ask them to check for the markers of HELLP syndrome. Praying for you guys!
HELLP syndrome occurs in pregnant women, so that can safely be ruled out.
@@Debberdoon actually it can happen to non pregnant people I know because I asked my ob so anyone can get HELLP syndrome

The rapid tests are missing some of the omicron variants. If you're feeling that bad I would not assume you're actually covid negative without a negative pcr test.
Edited to add: I bet you y'all do have covid. With her liver enzymes being a little high you actually need to get pcr tested. If this is covid she may be at risk for MIS-C. I'm not trying to be alarmist but if it's that's the case the sooner is caught the better and everything that can go wrong seems to be in your household so I hope your see this.
I haven’t went to Medical School but how can giving a dehydrated child fluids do any harm? I hate it when a doctor acts as if I’m just a crazy mother that doesn’t know anything. My prayers are with your family 🙏🏼

Those tummy bugs can hang around the house up to 2 weeks!!!! Bleach is all that can clear it up.. Ugh I hate it!!

Sadly yes you can get covid again and again especially with Omicron. 😥 There won't be herd immunity without different vaccines that stop transmission. I hope you guys are all feeling better now whatever the illness was you all had. It sounded horrible. You were kind of short of breath in the beginning.
This ☝🏻Sadly lots of infections in other countries are reinfections, and the BA2 (other Omicron variant) As for Omicron the immunity doesn't last long. Most reinfections are within 6 weeks.
Please have labs drawn for MISC-C! The IV will also help a lot.

Today my daughter tested positive for covid she’s asymptomatic and my youngest with autism who has been sick for going on months now and me who has been sick for a month tested negative. Took the oldest again and she was positive again and positive on a rapid because I couldn’t believe it because she had covid on New Years! I feel so sick and I’m confused why I’m negative but my youngest has a bulging ear about to burst/double ear infection, and is a snotty cough mess. It’s a lot.

Oh man my daughter broke out with bombs everywhere when she was about 12 months old and it was so bad we took her to 3 hospitals and they never ended up being able to diagnose her. Then a dermatologist specialist diagnosed her with measles basically she had a reaction to the measles vaccine. After that vaccine/illness she changed it sucks…… she lost all ability of words she was saying and wouldn’t look at us in the eyes anymore and the doctors are always telling me it wasn’t the vaccine that caused her autism, but I know when she changed and I know my daughter and I get that it could not be the vaccines and both my kids are fully vaccinated but it’s so stressful! I’m breaking too Emily. I commented in another post that my kids have been sick for 2 months one has covid another RSV and a bulging ear drum and double ear infection and I’m done too. I’m breaking. I called work today and was just like I don’t know if I can do it I don’t think I can talk to patients without crying immsomfricken overwhelmed! I keep praying and praying to God to heal our family and I know it could be worse and I’m so thankful it isn’t but every time I say that it gets a little worse’. So I’m just tired 😭 wish I could give you a hug your super mom!
Sometimes parents know better than doctors do when I was 17 I had diarrhea every day for about two years with no explanation for the episodes as my mom referred to them as and when the episodes started my parents took me to the emergency room many many times trying to get me some help before things got serious and believe me things did eventually get serious and as people suggested my parents took me to the children's hospital in my area and what did the hospital say?? They literally told my parents and I to just go home and live with it my parents and I were just thinking like excuse me?? You can't live with having diarrhea every day multiple times a the worse it got was like 25 episodes in 24 hours needless to say I ended up in the hospital In the ICU part of the hospital my point Is sometimes parents know better than doctors even if it's not something that could be serious sometimes it's better to go with that mama bear instinct you have like my mom did for me even though things weren't that serious at first my mom still knew best for me
