    Simple, sometimes make the look so good. If it was me, I would round/chamfer the legs outside edges for personal safety (protect my legs from hitting sharp edges) and to protect them from been chipped out.

    You might also consider getting the rigid saw from home depot. I've had mine for more than 10 years and up until lately it was used nearly daily. The rigid saw can also run off 220 or 120 your choice.
    As for your assembly table, cudos for a well done project.

    I just purchased the Skil table saw myself. I'm interested to see how you bring that up to match the new out feed table. So far the only thing I don't like about the Skil is how short it is.

    • @PatriotDIY
      @PatriotDIY  Рік тому +1

      The skil has served me well everything in my shop was built using that saw!!! I just built a platform for it to sit on out of 2x4s and 3/4 ply!!

    Hey brother love the workbench! I just bought you plans and built it myself and am loving the addition to my shop.
    Quick question:
    Have you found the need, or do you plan to add a vertical support in between the top and bottom frame horizontal frame assemblies to prevent sagging over time?
    Love the channel, looking forward to part two of this build and the updated plans!

    • @PatriotDIY
      @PatriotDIY  Рік тому +1

      I don't think it will need a middle support especially once the drawers and cabinets are in.

    What screws did you use to attach the quick release bracket to the table. The wood screws don’t have a flat enough head and the machine head screws with the kit aren’t long enough

    How did the Shellac work out as a finish? Did you have any issues with it gumming up later on?

    Man this is exactly what I’m wanting to build in my new shop, you made yours and provided the plans just at the right time.
    Can’t wait for part 2. I’ll be waiting

    Hey!! What are your thoughts on dog holes along the top of your workbench? I was thinking about drilling dog holes in the top for clamping. They can also serve as vacuum ports. I think I might make a "hollow" 4'x8' workbench with a vacuum port for my dust collector. That way much of the dust from sanding can be vacuumed through the table.

      Dog holes aren't great for me because I use this bench for everything and I'm often laying screws and other small items on it that would likely fall through the holes. I use the T Track for clamping

    • @dgm6277
      @dgm6277 6 місяців тому +1

      Don't add dog holes to your assembly table. 1.5 inch top really isn't thick enough to work well. The T-track works a lot better. You may want to consider adding another track in the middle.

    I was looking at a Delta table saw too. Along with Harvey and Grizzly. However, I found a great used Sawstop off marketplace I am so glad I went with Sawstop. You just never know when you'll have a lapse in judgment using a tablesaw.

    I had a a delta table saw and I loved it. it was great, the only reason I upgraded it for a "saw stop" for safety reasons. as soon as i put it for sale it was sold in one day. good luck with the upgrade.
