Yes! A final canning stock tour would be great 😊
You got it!
That would be great. God bless you and your family.
This was such a great video. Thank you for sharing your food storage with us ❤
Thank YOU for including me! Can’t wait to see yours Sunday!
Canning meats is a huge time saver! We do venison, chicken, turkey, ground beef, Taco meat, salmon, BBQ pulled pork. Makes for quick meals!
Sure does!!
I’ve been canning for 30 years and had done plain meats but just started doing some of the meats in sauce from the new Ball book, game changer!
Latter pantry tour and freezer tour? Yes please!
You got it!
Yay another Michigander!!! I don’t often see others from Michigan. Can’t wait to watch you precious videos.
Yay! Welcome!
Thank you ❤ you have a beautiful voice ! You are truly blessed with so much food ! God bless you
I love home canned pantry tours. I'm also self taught canner.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
From three rivers homestead🥰
So happy to have you!
Just "fabulous". I grew up with my gram canning, but sadly after one exploded while she was pressure canning...I was small, it really scared me. With that, I am in my 40's now and tired of freezing everything and am about to begin my canning journey! I am starting with beans, and my own bone broth! I need to fill my food storage with shelf stable items. Thanks for the great video.
A Proverbs 31 virtuous woman in action! You are a blessing.
Yes. another tour would be awesome.
Great!!
Yes! I would to see a final tour.❤
You are amazing 👏. 👏. Your canning is far from boring! You can pantry staples, not frilly speciality items. Families don't fill their bellies with frufru items! You have a versatile collection of whole foods, and that's what matters.
Exactly. I feel like when your ingredients are high quality you don’t need to work as hard making things tasty!
I am so glad you joined this collaboration or I would probably never found your channel. I would love to see a final video of everything that you have canned. Have a blessed week.
Aw so happy to have you!! Will do!
Three Rivers Homestead sent me. I am impressed with your storage. I recognize the same organization skills . Great information. I too keep it simple and specific to my family. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for coming by!!
Another tour later would be wonderful. I am learning from everyone and would like to see the post season larder. Thank you.
Will do!
Jessica from 3 Rivers Homestead shared your channel. I love your farm and your storage. I have been canning for 2 years and still learning.
Welcome!
Yes please!
Holy COW, and PIG oh and Chicken! Lady that is AMAZING!Thanks Jessica and Ruth for telling me about this awesome channel. Homestead Heart started my canning journey almost 3 years ago but it was something I was do8nf as a teenager but didn't pick up again until i was 49. I spent 23 years buying local at farmers markets and butcher's but I froze everything. Then 2020 hit and I knew I had to do something different... so I went back to my child hood and Googled how to can chicken. Mrs Heart emailed me when I was worried i was wrong and helped me do my first 19 pts of own chickens. You tube has so many wonderful people helping each other. Your pantry is awesome! We call ours the grocery store. All 6 of our children know they can always shop home grown meat or veggies anytime. ❤
I love that!! I always joke with my kids they better come back and eat when they grow up because it’s going to be hard figuring out how to cook for 2 😅😂
@@intentionalhomesteadingmi well 6 years after they all moved out I still can not cook for less than 4 no mater how hard I try.
Wonderful info. God bless
Yes, please do another tour afterwards!
Yes, I would love to see another pantry tour ♥️
Thank you!
Yes final tour ❤
Thankyou for sharing your pantry 😊
Beautiful video!
Thank you very much!
Thank you for sharing... both RuthAnn and Jessica suggested coming over.
While I've been canning and preserving for over 50+ years, I believe you can or should never stop learinig from others.
I grew up with a Menninite "Grammy", and she taught me sooo much and from the old ways. I still do many of those methods, I don't argue wirh anyone about, just still use somenof them, some not so much and it's more of a time element, not a concern for the safety issue... and all of are very much alive and healthy sooo there's that.😂
Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and thanks!
Blessings ❤
Aw welcome!! Love that you were able to glean some knowledge from family. Blessings!
A very soft spoken, well versed video. Thank you and God bless you and your family.
Thank you! You too!
Your pantry is fabulous!
I’ve been canning for a long time and this year is the first time I canned hamburger. I’m going to try canning sausage. I can chicken, beef, beef brisket, salmon, pork, beans, veggies, fruits, ham, turkey, broth, mushrooms, pickled stuffed hot banana peppers. This is the first watching your channel. I enjoyed.
That’s awesome! Thanks for watching 🤗
Please keep your used canning lids and put them on your jar so that you can keep critters out of your jars
Awesome! I am from just north of GR, MI! Reside in NE now-but miss MI 😊
So fun - we’re not far from there!! Welcome!
Found you from Jessica at 3 rivers. Always subscribe to homestead videos even though I live on 1/3 acre. Hint-look where camera is instead of viewer/screen.
Thanks for watching!!
New subscriber you remind me of home we had a wood stove to. I miss it living out in the country. Things were different then today.
Welcome! Oh we love our Woodstove - nothing beats it!
Yes please another tour!
Ugly chicken is one of our go to’s! All of our meat is raw packed…we love it!
😂🙌🏻
Maybe a video of canning when you butcher in November? Thanks
I’m thinking so!
Came over from the Zimmerman channel ❤new sub here🎉love the outside view of your home..would love to have a house like that❤
Thanks for coming!! We love it too!
Me, too 😊. Just subscribed.
I love it! “Scary basement” 😂 Great tips about cold packing the ground beef too!
😅😅
You know I love a good pantry tour! You've worked so hard this year - well done, friend!
Thanks so much! 😊
Wow! Fantastic. ❤❤
Please do another pantry tour when its all done!
Will do!!
You have an "ingredient kitchen" and that's the way I can too. I grew up canning and that's the only way we've ever done it so we can use it for recipes instead of one jar for one recipe. I do a few soups in pints for a single serve for kids or someone getting sick but otherwise it's single ingredients. Thanks for sharing your pantry! Good to meet you!
Yes!! Thanks for watching!
i'm in mid mich too!!!
New Subscriber through this collaboration... so nice to meet you and look forward to getting to know you more!
Thanks so much for joining!
"That specific crap" 😂
Did I say that?! 🤣🫣
Following from Southwest Michigan…found you through the Zimmermans! Look forward to seeing more from our neck of the woods!
Yay welcome!
came over from 3rivers love your channel
Thank you so much!
Thank you for sharing your pantry! I didn’t know you could can lard. I have never canned meats or meals in a jar yet, but decided I am going to try it! Would love to see another pantry video ! It gives me ideas to help me too! New to your channel, coming over from Jessica’s channel!
Thank you for the pantry tour. A stocked video would be nice. I am retiring the end of this month and will up my gardening and canning next year. I am excited to have time to garden and can food. I live alone, so all chores are on me, so i have not had time. God Bless and have a great Thanksgiving.
Will do - you too!!
Sent from Jessica, I'm a 62 yr old from NZ. Awesome pantry of food you have there. I used to can as you call it, we call it preserving, but I don't think it's worth it now I'm on my own. Produce here is so expensive, I grow what I can so that I don't have to buy it from the supermarket, but if I process anything it is for the freezer. Subbed. Thanks for the tour. I can't wait to watch more of you processing stuff. 😂❤
Welcome!!
Hi Beth, I come from Jessica’s channel. I love your woodpiles and your organic not bought Fall decor. I would love to see your stocked shelves. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you for watching!
Sent by Jessica. You’ve got some great videos here. New to canning and trying to set up my pantry. Would love to see videos about your workflow and cooking from your pantry.
Hello hello! Great to know! I have a few recipe videos - I’ll be sure to offer more in the future!
Fellow mid Michigan girl here!! Excited to see your channel. Just heard of you through Jessica's video this morning 😊
Yay welcome!
@@intentionalhomesteadingmi thank you 😊
Yes please so enjoyed your video.
Awesome! Thank you!
First time viewer here, enjoyed the content.
I’m in the beginning stage of researching pressure canners and those got to have extras.
Loved your presentation 😊
Thank you so much!
Here from 3rivers.
So happy to have you! Welcome!
I think your house is beautiful and the basement isn't scary it looks grate , and reminds me of my grandma's ,she was a Sturn bul a loving person who canned and cooked from scratched . She planed her meals by looking in her basement then the garden and around her yard ,then finally in her fridge. I live in Bay county ,mi. May I ask what county u live in ,and what is your last frost date ? Mine use to be around 5 -15 . But I was told by my library it's around 5-2 .thanks richard
New Sub here I love this video thank you for sharing I found you from three Rivers. Can't wait to see more
Welcome!!
I just watched little mountain ranch do shredded pork. She roasted the pork one day, shredded it the next and canned it. I thought that was a pretty cool. I prefer par cooked/roasted over raw pack. It tastes better to me, and I don't like meat sticking outside the broth.
I saw that too!! Definitely want to try it!
Love your pantry. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful pantry!!!
Thank you! 🤗
Another tour would be great!
Sounds good!!
Great tour. Thank you for sharing all your hard work. ❤Val C
Thanks for watching!!
Yes to the final stock tour love this so much!
New subscriber now, thanks to your wonderful video. Thanks for the info on canning meat. Ive been canning forever now, but have never done meat. I had issues with the way it looked in the jars. But after hearing your comments on meat you convinced me to go ahead and try it. Thanks for sharing.
Welcome!!! Hope you love it!!
I love your channel ..I do watch Ruth ann love their peaceful channel and learn so much..
Glad to find your channel. I'M in Florida so no basements. I still don't know why they can have pools but not root cellars..so we use air conditiong and canning, dehydrating, freezing which can be precarious.
I want to can up all my freezers.I love canned meat so tender
It is SO tender. Thanks for watching!
New sub from Ruth Ann's channel. ❤
Welcome!!
Very interesting and enjoyable! Thank you. I heard about you from Jessica at Three Rivers.
My canned chicken was so dry, I didn’t like it. But canned stew meat is wonderful. Canned dry beans are a favorite also.
I really admire your work ethic!!! And so glad to see your canning kitchen. We are thinking and planning one for our extended family. I’m the experienced canner and dearly want to teach two more generations how to preserve home grown foods.
I agree. Chicken is about the only one I don’t prefer!
Would love to hear more about schmaltz.. how to make use and store 😊
Wowww. Hard, hard work really pays off. Loved this video and will be looking for your canning videos, especially how you jar up pork and make and preserve sausage. Thank you!
Yes!! Will definitely share. Thanks for watching!
Thank You for sharing you gave me a few new ideas…Thank You for sharing!
You are so welcome!
Just subbed to your channel suggested by Ruth Ann. What a beautiful life you have.
Welcome!! Thanks so much!
I absolutely loved your video. I am new to your channel. Love your home. Hugs❤
Thank you so much! Welcome!
Thank you for sharing! A nice gentle video to watch before the sun is up and the house is quiet!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m here from Jessica from three rivers homestead. Great video
Welcome!!
That was an inspiring pantry!
Thanks for watching!! Very grateful for it!
You have a very nice pantry, thank you for sharing that with us.
My favorite meat to can is pork roast, I also can green chiles. I add the two to a pot and make Green Chile con Carne. Serve it with tortillas.
At the end of your video, there were lids, that said "leat". What was that? Thank you.
I subscribed and look forward to more videos.
Those are leaf lard!
Thanks for sharing! I am new to your channel, and would love to see another tour at your end of harvest season too 😃 Like yourself I lean to basics as well. But also appreciate ideas expounded on some of the meal/ dish creations some do with their staples 😉
Question: when you mentioned the various ways of serving meat were you saying some was canned with spices and some without? if so with canning would expound a little what kind of spices and how you would use the spiced canned meats please?
Hey! So I primarily will season our ground pork - Italian, breakfast, and chorizo are our primary flavors we use for meals!
I enjoyed this video..and yes id like to see anotber video when you are all finished canningk
Sounds good!
Found your channel from Ruthann and Chesla. Love your channel.
So happy to have you here!
I came over from Thee rivers Homestead after viewing her pantry tour. Thank you for speaking on canning proteins. My MIL always canned chicken and we liked the convenience!
Welcome!! And yes / I call it my “fast food” 😆🙌🏻
Great, informative video and love your background music choice. New subscriber.
This was absolutely incredible to see. Thank you so much for the tour!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you so much for sharing. Hello from Oregon brand new to your channel
Welcome!!
Love the tour! Would love a final canning tour! Thank you!
You got it!
Great video.
Thanks so much!
I have done raw packed meat, but I prefer browning the meat first for flavor. My absolute favorite meat to can is round steak. It comes out sooo tender. The best for fajitas! Bravo on learning to can! I started canning out of necessity, but also because I love to grow anything and everything in my garden! So satisfying! God Bless your family!
That sounds so good 😍 thanks for watching!
Love your tour - looking forward to the next one! I follow RuthAnn and Jessica too. I have gained so much knowledge this year from those ladies. I render my fat from my pigs. When you use yours do you melt it down? For instance, I would not melt it for pie pastry but what about using it as a replacement for olive or vegetable oil? Do you melt it down and then use it as a replacement for those? The only thing i really use it for now is to put in my fry pan prior to cooking.
Yes!! Melted for frying or baking recipes (other than pie crust)
Do you have a video on how to can the lard?
I don’t! I “open kettle” seal jars - but I’ll add it to my list to share next month!
What temperature and humidity do you keep your cold room?
New subscriber here. I love to can meat also. Question, how do you use the rendered chicken fat? Ive never heard of Schmaltz. I enjoyed your video. Coming at you from SE Texas.
Hey! Welcome! So far we love it for sauteeing, eggs, and popping pop corn! It’s not as hard/solid at lard or tallow but I’m still tempting to try baking with it too at some point.
I must have missed it somewhere but did your milk cow results come back she was bred?🙏
MILK COW PREGNANCY TEST RESULTS! Will we have a baby… or burger? 😔
ua-cam.com/video/ZzaFKYv49Tk/v-deo.html
Our older cow!? That video is here!
I have food in my kitchen pantry and my house stays about 80. Will it stay good and last a long time at 80??
I want to do meat but so afraid of botulism! I know just need to follow directions but haven’t buoy up my nerve yet
Yes - just do it!! You got this 🙌🏻
How do you know if it's bad? We pressure canned deer last year, and I'm a little nervous about using it. Just because I've never canned meat before.
Lids that come unsealed will allow oxygen in and mold will start growing. I’ve actually never had a jar of meat unseal and be bad! Occasionally it happens with fruits or veggies though
That's good to know, I'm just nervous about it.
@@carlacounts4508store your jars without rings. Lift the jar by the edge of the lid before opening and when you open, listen for that vacuum sound. If the lid didn't release by you lifting, and when you opened it you heard a good vacuum release, it's perfectly safe. Follow up by the nose test. If you're still sketched out (you shouldn't be) cook the heck out of it. But honestly, you'll be fine!
Did you raw pack ground beef or sausage? If so, how did you do it?
I do both! Just literally fill jars and process in your pressure canner!
@@intentionalhomesteadingmi I heard that it wasn't safe to do ground beef that way. How long have you been doing it that way and have you run into any problems?
Thank you!
