The custom DB rack looks great and is a great conversation piece! Your setup is fantastic; how many neighbours have asked to use it?
Given my small urban space I had to choose between cardio or rack/weights/etc for my basement. Went with the latter and still head to the gym for cardio - it's nice for a change of scenery and a bit of camaraderie. Like a lot of hobbies a home gym can turn into a bit of a money sink no matter how much space you have though, you can convince yourself you need a lot of supplemental crap you see reviewed on home gym youtube ....
That is veryyyy true!! I always watch the review and make myself not buy anything until I’ve done at least a month or so of research👌 but yes all the neighbors are stopping by to get a lift in😂
Since some items were bought at a used discount - and some were market place finds - the rest of us would have to add up what it would be retail… this setup even finding some deals would be 18,500$(low end) to 25k+ on the high end
To put that in perspective our current membership is 60$/m for two people (720$ a year) - it has 50 pieces of hammer strength isolation machines - unlimited weights / free rent basketball courts / racket ball courts / hot tub / pool / cardio room with about 150 different machines…
It would take us 21 years to recoup the low end investment and 34 years to recoup the high end - that’s only if nothing breaks along the way…
but your are also paying for the distance and privacy in the garage , i get and agree where you are coming from tho

Gym 🔥 bro but having a sauna in duval is "CRAZY" it's easily 95° everytime I'm working out in mine. Winter time a little cooler but that's only for 2 months.. lol Go Jags and Noles too
Rep Ares (especially with the new 2.0 Ares coming out) is what ya want. Although no smith machine, it’s the absolute best all in one in terms of rack/cable system but insane quality and will be a “forever piece”. I have the Ares 1.0 and still love it. Looking forward to your leg machine video, I’m saving a space in my room for something exactly like that. Good luck!

The wife and I bought almost the entire garage gym we currently use nightly for just under $1,000. Plates, half rack, two barbells, 2 adjustable dumbbells and dumbells from 25-40. We absolutely love it! Getting a full pump then being able to just walk inside and take a shower in my own bathroom is so nice! Loved the video 👍

I know you didn't invest in your home gym to save money, but if you had to calculate, how long would it take you to get your ROI in years of gym membership? Just curious
lol yeah I love this question! Right now I would have to workout in here for over 10 years for me to actually save any money over going to a normal gym paying $40 a month😂😂 definitely not in it for the ROI

I can’t wait to buy a house and have a home gym. I got an exercise bike, treadmill, adjustable dumbbells, a foldable bench so far an I’m just in a lil apartment but that shit does its job during the week when I “don’t have time” to go to the gym
