    Sounds like a dope little deck. Thought about this thing but instead I did something effing weird--I sized up a MT significantly (168 W) so I could ride it centered which made it ok for the park, but the extra size also made it kinda sick for pow and stable on groomers at 60 mph. I have tree trunks for legs so it was fine. I love it for days where we have pow in the morning that's tracked out after a couple hours. Only recommend this weirdass setup for in shape dudes with proper fundamentals that weigh over, say, 100kg. And please be kinda weird. The 168 W was funner in the park than I thought.

    How's the stiffness of the UME compared to the Flagship? Looking for a big mountain/off-piste board and those are the top two contenders right now. Issue is finding anywhere that can rent them

    Dumb question: What key differences are there between this and the reg ME? Stiffer? Lighter? Poppier? Floatier? Ultraier?Thanks ! 🤘

    Great content as always!
    Any recommendations on how to compliment my 2020 UME? I am looking for a board for when I take it easier, ride with friends. mainly carving groomers, i wanna do more butters and goofing. Some s-m jumps, sidehits and pipes. Must be able to spray skiers. would pair it to the nidecker supermatics. thanks!

      Could do a Jones Mountain Twin if you stay on the Jones train otherwise Ride Shadowban or even a Rome Stale Fish.

    Sick review. Do you think this one or the Excavator would perform better in deeeep pow? Riding in the cottonwood canyons in Utah for reference

      I've had and ridden both (in the cottonwoods b-town for life), the Mind expander definitely floats a little better in deeep pow, both are fun. Excavator gets bucked around a lil more when it gets chundery.

      @@andygosch6219 have you ridden the ultra version? if so, seems like the way to go over the excavator if i want better float and stability huh?

    Aren't the stratas one of union's softest bindings? Why is it a good match up for the UME over something like the falcor, a stiff binding?

  • @kyleauclair4807
    @kyleauclair4807 7 місяців тому

    Man, I am trying to decide between this and the Yes! Hybrid. I keep flip flopping.
    I want something floaty for resort powder days that can be daily cruiser. I ride pretty hard just cus I am a bigger guy, so wondering if the stiffness of the Jones would be a little better for me.
    Thoughts? They sound pretty similar, even made in same factory.
    Thanks! Your vids are super helpful

    Appreciate the review! How do the UME and ME compare to the Amplid morning glory? Which would you prefer in pow?

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  8 місяців тому

      UME is stiffer than the Morning Glory the ME is closer to that board but only in the bigger sizes. Whichever one I'm riding that day.

    Hi! I got a weird problem that I have been pondering. Got a difference in leg length, the right leg being 2 cm shorter (also my back foot). That means I use the right leg more all day every day as that is most natural. I get bye by building up shoes, and for snowboarding have a Palmer Slalom binding riser that lifts the binding 1 cm. Still not perfect but it helps.
    Do you have any idea how I can translate this into reviews of boards, like how the riser and my back foot dominance can affect the ride? For example, surfy boards that are set back and where you drive with the back foot, would that be perfect for me, or will I go too far back and basically wheelie it. Any tips, thought or anything would be great.
    In a situation now that I have to upsize in boots due to old man feet flattening out, and thus got to sell the normal width board. Just want a mellow cruiser that turns fast and holds an edge in long carves in sometimes icy conditions. No park, no rails, no jumps, just surfing down the slopes on weekends. Surf shapes looks fun, but would I off set the set back into basically back footing down the mountain?

      I don't know you're a 1 in 1000000000 issue. You're going to have to figure it out. I wouldn't use that riser though.

    • @chirsbom337
      @chirsbom337 9 місяців тому

      @@AngrySnowboarder Thx for the reply! I know the riser isnt optimal, but without it is like standing with a boot on one foot, and bare foot on the other, gives a real kink in the hip and a lot of weight at the rear foot. Should be awesome for powder, but we dont really get that here. But no advice on staying away from set back boards, or getting a tail stiff board, or anything like that that might be of value?

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  9 місяців тому +2

      What do you want me to tell you? Your anatomy is whacked out and causing a 1 in 1000000 issue. You're going to have to figure it out. There's somethings I just don't know the answer to. This is one of them.
