    I'm 6ft 185 and I since this board is a little stiffer than my current board I was thinking about down sizing to a 156w. I feel like a smaller board will be a little more playful while the stiffness with allow me to carve most mountains in California. I don't ride any park. Thanks in advance! Love your vids ;)

    Hey Arvin, your reviews are great man. I have been reading a lot that both the MT and the UMT have been getting softer the last few years. People seemed to really like the older MT. Is the UMT more like the MT from a few years back? I'm looking for something to conquer the whole mountain with, icy steeps, groomers, carving, going fast, going slow and buttering, switch, sidehits, etc. Everything except for park. Would the MT or UMT be better? Or maybe some other board? (I'm pretty big, 6'4, about 210lbs, size 12.5 boots).

    Solid reviews. I'm 6'4 230 with a 13 US boot size. I either ride fresh packed powder grooms that you can smash or powder. I don't get into the park much but on groomer days I enjoy hitting natural features and little switch riding. Looking at this the regular twin, Nitro Team, and Yes Standard. What's your recommendation? Open to looking at other boards as well. Thanks

    Awesome video! I have been watching a lot of your reviews this week and they are really helpful with all of the options out there.
    Can you give a recommendation on sizing? I am 5'11" and 190lbs. Size 9 boot. You rode a 157 for the review but the site puts me more at a 160.
    Also, I am between this or the Capita Mercury and I am really torn on the decision. If you had to choose one which would it be?

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  2 роки тому +3

      Personal preference is a big play in sizing I wouldn't go above a 157 but that's me, unless you're riding heavy wet coastal snow.

  • @mboiplaz3074
    @mboiplaz3074 2 роки тому

    Hi Avrin! I came across your channel when I was looking for a new setup. I have been riding an 05 Option Signature since, well 05 and I love the board, but it's time to get a new setup. I ride mostly in Vermont and New York, which tend to be icier with more hard pack than powder. When the snow is good (meaning soft) I love to hit moguls and the trees and uneven terrain. Otherwise I like carving up advanced and expert runs and popping off rollers to catch some air as the trail drops away. I haven't really hit the terrain park much as I've gotten older, so I'm not looking for a freestyle oriented board. The Option Sig is pretty setback and directional, so I always felt it prevented me from riding switch and landing 180s and things like that. I zeroed in on the ultra and regular MT because I believe it adds those features. Can you make a recommendation on which might be more appropriate for me coming from the option signature or recommend another board I should consider. 5'8" 190lbs 9.5 boot. I was concerned the regular MT would sacrifice too much on carving and edge hold in the Icy East.

    Love your stuff!
    I have been riding for 15 years here in the Swiss alps, mostly piste (often icy) and freedride.
    I currently ride the korua otto on piste and love it to bits, but i am looking sth more twinnish bc the long nose feels weird at times whilst riding switch. Any recommendations for a board similar to the otto (similar flex, wide, camber) but closer to a true twin?

    • @AngrySnowboarder
      @AngrySnowboarder  Рік тому +1

      I'd check out the Ride Benchwarmer, Capita Outsiders, Rome Mod Stale. Won't be as stiff but close.

  • @jasonz2647
    @jasonz2647 2 роки тому

    One thing I don't like about this board: the traction tech is not providing any extra edge hold on ice. It's just there to make the camber easier to engage on non-icy groomer.

    Hey man. I've been trying to decide on a hard charging all mountian freestyle board for the east coast. The mega merc sounds right up my alley but I need something that can really bite into ice and hold it together through chunder when I come over a roller at warp speed and some lame dad is snowplowing across the run trying to kill his kids. Should I just nab a mega merc next year or go with something like this with death grip or magnatraction? I'm 180 with a 10.5 boot if that matters.

    Hey Angry, awesome vid. Quick question on this board right here I just bought it but I'm starting to doubt the size and the board altogether that I got (which was based on the Jones sizing recommendation) I'm 5'9 190 lb and boot size 12. I'm quite the intermediate rider mostly on groomers and off piste on powdays. I got 162W, and I'm starting to feel that this board will kill me.. Is it still okay? I got like 4 years on the mountains. Cheers man,

    Hey Angry.
    I'm 6'2" 167 lbs advanced rider, size 11 (ride insano) boots. Looking to add a board to my quiver for all mountain days in and out of the park up to a few inches of snow. I'd grab a 159 reg if they made one and am afraid the wide will be too much of a boat that's bumpy transitioning turns. What's your thoughts on the wide for my size? I rode a lobster sender 158W that was great in the park and lame on chopped up terrain.

    Hey Avran! Thanks for the review, I'm looking for a board to replace a jibsaw heavy duty since they stopped making the elite. Would this board be comparable stiffness or would the regular mountain twin be more comparable? I remember in one of your videos, you mentioned that the regular mountain twin was comparable. I'm mainly a freestyle jumper (Small to 35' jumps) and like riding camrock.

      @@AngrySnowboarder I ride PNW, soft snow/ slush a lot of the time. Easy to wash out and catch an edge. At least for me, that's what i find. So I like camrock w/ magnetraction profiles as opposed to full camber but i'm also used to riding camrock so i'm abit set in my riding. I find if i wash out with camrock, I can use the torsional flex of the board/ ankles to revert quickly saving me from falling. My buddy rips on an Outsiders though, solid board.
